Ruin nerf literally killed solo survivor queue times.
Literally here sitting in lobby simulator for about average 20-30 min for a red rank survivor game and when I do get one after the long wait I get matched with rank 12s ######### is going on here BHVR? I can't even do any of the survivor challenges from the tome because of ridiculous queue times.
Man y'all really ######### up.

Yup, last queue was 22 minutes for me. I'm rank 1.
Needless to say, rank 8 killer, match was done in 6 minutes.

Its really annoying to wait 20 mins. Then get lobby dodged. its so swell. Or better yet have potatoes for team mates that the game isn't long enough to be fun.

No idea what you guys are talking about, on the Xbox the waiting time is 2-5 minutes

It's entirely possible that the Tome having more survivor then killer challenges is effecting it as well.

Solo survivor is a nightmare with the tomes. It was last time and it is this time. I'm having way more fun doing the killer challenges. I went more than two hours without getting a save because I just set the challenge and played normally. All anyone did was saves. Now that it's done, I'm dying on first hook almost every single game. People who haven't even been hit the entire game won't make a save. It's baffling and ruining the game. Not sure if I'll get the next rift/tome/battlepass thingee.

I'm on Xbox NA Rank 1. About 10 second Killer queue's and maybe 15 minute Survivor queue's.

Nah it’s more about gen speed and stress relation than “needing Ruin” I can see you don’t play much Killer though 👍

Absolutely not joking. Your comment made shows that you fail to understand the significance of Ruin as a perk to the blatantly fast gen speeds rather than as a crutch. If you do play Killer, I assume it’s in the lower ranks. Do us a favor, play as Huntress and throw on a Red Mask map offering at red ranks and show us how you do.

Same feeling, I'm a 1st solo red rank and wait around 10-15min+ with my region.

Yeah, playing killer is a battle of attrition, and on many maps it feels like there's just no end to the survivors' resources.
I hope the maps get reasonable reworks in the near future.

My survivor queues are a breeze. PC, EU.
Killer queues are fast in the late afternoon and evening.

Red rank survivor queue times and grey rank killer queue times are the longest in the game because of the way matchmaking works for survive with friends.

Funny how you think ruin is the reason. It's not. It's just the last straw for most of us. None of us wants to constantly play red ranks that teabag, flashlight flicker, and generally act like children, especially when it's become almost a meme that the devs favor the survivors. They're killing their own game with this absurd idea that survivors only have fun if they're beating the killer into the ground and ending matches in 5-6 minutes.

For me it's completely ironic.
I'm a PC player, Europe north and east. My survivor wait time is usually a quarter of a second and the killer wait times went from a 10 minute wait time to 4 with the changes. I don't experience the average "waiting for a game" experience like you guys xd

Exactly I’m guessing those guys are on pc so of course they will have to wait 30 min for a match. Barley anyone plays on pc most of the games player base is on console.

When I play survivor (rank 3) I wait 2-5 min and killer (rank 5) 5-20 seconds.

Killer ques are always fast. Survivor queues are ok in the morning (like 7-9am, but evening and night they are horrible.

ruin wasn't a crutch, it was an insurance and a bandaid for the games balance, you say "don't need ruin" but you probably mass slugged, proxy camped etc. I used ruin but tried to 3 hook everyone, never camped. etc
that is what old ruin allowed, old ruin is not here anymore though

Stop with this stupid "just apply pressure" bs. Try playing clown on red forest, then try and say "just apply more pressure ". Ruin was never a crutch, it allowed killers to play in a fair way that was fun for both killers and survivors. Now that ruin is gone killers have either left because killer is too stressful now, or they slug and tunnel to slow down a 5min match. Unless you're playing a high mobility killer, it's impossible to pressure gens while chasing survivors on massive maps, unless they all become super altruistic.

The best part is how Peanits said they made way more survivor challenges in this tome than killer challenges because they thought there'd be too many people playing killer after the patch

Or you know, just make killer mains continue to feel bullied, ignored, and outright shat on by the devs who refuse to give the weaker ones buffs while continiung to nerf the strong ones and remove anything that helps slowdown the game for the killer; which is the largest and most effective strategy for nearly all killers.

Either you know how to play killer or you don't. Old Ruin was needed because majority of maps are unbalanced and Idk what you mean by FURTHER map balance when there is practically none to begin with and even the rework they did to freddy's map and the game for example did nothing but add a buttload more palettes. when good survivors need less than 10 to make it out of a match. On my swf team we can dominate using as little as 4 palettes on maps with the most broken loops/gyms/routes.
Maps are the reason why gens pop so fast, your post reads as survivor biased to me but idk if I'm just reading it wrong. I like to see myself as non biased since I play both but tbh playing survivor especially experienced is brain dead easy. Its all about team work to get those gens done and the gens will go fast if the map makes it hard for the killers to apply pressure. Which the majority of them do. Nurse is still #1 top tier for that reason, it's supposed to be common sense.

Of course you do, I'm sure you've got proof of these magical wins? I'm happy to accept a loss when I actually lose because I was out played by skill, not because a game and dev team heavily favour one side and refuse to fix poorly designed game mechanics that get abused to secure a win.

queue times have always been a dbd issue, unfortunately. I never know when I'm gonna wait 4 seconds or 40 minutes. PC/PS4

It'd be nice if they gave estimated wait times so players didn't have to just wait with no clue how long it'll be.

Didnt they try doing that on pc before? Earlier 2019? Or am I imagining things? I could almost swear I remember queing up and seeing something like "Estimated Wait Time *less than sign* 7minutes"

You pretty much support that fact that the devs are pretty much killing their own game, old Hex: Ruin was a perk that allowed killers to win and it's was rng based on something called skillchecks "SKILLchecks" you had to actually be good and if you are you weren't phased. The only thing that hurts potato players is matchmaking system and how it works

Okay, maybe I'm a bit of the odd duck on this one, but I never played with Ruin. Lately, the matches seem to have gotten easier for me. It's not uncommon to get a double pip without running Ruin. For the record, I've been running Legion using Nurse's Calling, BBC, Dying Light, and Thana.

This^ i never once used spirit fury with enduring, but now i don't have any better perks to run, so i just waste 2 perk slots and tank pallets so later chases are instant, even if the first chase can be long
