I'm in a dilemma, Please call for help
So I've been having a little issue with myself. I've been really torn if I should buy the new rift pas or I shouldn't buy it. Because I think what the devs are doing right now to the game is not good and if I give them money they will most likely continue to ruin the game. But maybe the devs have a change of heart and start caring about again, They could use that money that I spent on the rift to fix their game.
Please give some advice on what to do, I don't want to go on an impulse so I just want some advice before I make my final decision.

Dont do it for the reason you stated above

I doubt a single purchase would ever sway them but:
Support what you want to.
Protest what you want to.

If you are not happy with the current state of a video game, you can show your dissatisfaction by not spending money.
Spending money on a product shows the developers that they don't have to make changes and can expect their customers to keep buying.
The devs already told us which target group they focus on.

I wouldn’t t spend it. In fact, save that money to buy a new game you never played before. Maybe it’s time to take a vacation from DbD?
I hear Monster Hunter is really fun. I’ll be trying that soon. New Resident Evil is coming out soon as well. Heck, Last Year is looking good too.

Thank you guys for the for the mature responses. I have decided I will not be buying the new rift past and I will be saving that money.

That predator hunting grounds though...

I read on here that the Devs for Friday the 13th are making that and that I should be weary of it. I’ll try it out when it’s on sale.
One of my all time favorite games was the original Devil May Cry. Makes me miss my childhood thinking about it. I’ll probably just buy all the DMC games on steam and play through them all.
Maybe try out MK 11. I do miss fighting games.

i see it in a very commercial way actually, I buy products which I like, so far I bought all dlc and some auric cells and other stuff from DBD since end of 2016, now, after the last patches, I honestly I can't say I like this product.
If back in the days dbd was in the state it is now, I would have not become so passionate about this game. Hence from now on I personally will not buy anything anymore untill the game gets fixed.
It is not a protest, actually. It is just a commercial reason, this product, right now, imo, doesnt deserve any investment.

If the Devs of F13 are making the new Predator game, I wouldn't worry. F13 was a great game, but the whole lawsuit over ownership of the actual F13 rights screwed it royally. Theres also the new RE:3 DbD style game coming with RE:3's release too which I am psyched for. I really hope that both the new Predator and the RE:3 Add-On games are going to be serious competitors to DbD. Maybe that's what the devs finally need to really start taking the issues with the game seriously

Expecting them to maybe have a change of heart, is the biggest flaw in your plan.
I think the battlepass is a stupid ######### thing to put in a game with so much monetization already, but if you like the things in it, or want to support them, nobody is stopping or judging you. I just wouldnt expect them to suddenly do a 180.

Ok, that is comforting to know. I didn’t know about the lawsuit, it’s just people referred to that Dev team negatively so I assumed they were bad. I’ll definitely play it now.
And yes, the DbD Devs need a fire light under their butts to make this game better for everyone. Right now they’re prioritizing New Survivors and the money they would spend on the game and cosmetics. Killers are left frustrated, especially with how crap Ranks and Matchmaking is.
I can see killer mains migrating to another game if things keep up. Not everyone wants a 5 minute match.

I wanted to but I'm more inclined not to now. It's not the ruin nerf or anything like that it's the de facto removal of events, constant gamebreaking bugs and largely ignoring issues specific to console.

I agree. I used to main killer a lot, though I still switched between the two, I was more a Killer fan, but over the months of matchmaking issues or bugs, etc, I've switched to Survivor just to try have a little fun. Honestly, once Predator and RE:3 release, DbD will be reshelved until things change for the better

I haven’t played Resident Evil since Code Veronica came out. I remember enjoying it, but I fell out of the horror genre since I’m a big chicken. If I were to get back into it, what Resident Evil game should I start with? Also, are they all third person? Even though I like playing killer in DbD, I’m not a fan of First Person viewpoint and in many games it gives me a headache or causes me to get dizzy.
Also, off topic, but I love your name.

Well Re4 was a classic, before the completely turned it around to become less horror and more action. RE5 wasn't awful, but it was certainly a step backward from the old classics. RE6 I'd say greatly avoid if you want a more horror experience. That game was just like a playable action film. RE7 returned to it's roots and became a FPS, and it nailed the terror aspect. RE2 Remaster was a return to greatness too. It went back to a over the shoulder style, but the horror aspect from RE2 returned, and it was amazing. So overall, I'd say 7 and RE2 Remaster are great choices for a good scare.

You don't have to buy the rift pass right away, you can play for a few weeks, see how far you make it on the levels of the free track and then decide if you want any of the cosmetics in the rift pass. The way it works is whatever level you make it to on the free one will be the same level in the purchased one. That is my intention so I don't feel forced to grind because I paid money.

Thanks for the advice, I need to screenshot it before devs delete this thread

Only 7 is first person.

Thanks for that! Seems like there are plenty of games in the sea <3

I'd say Resident Evil 6 is to be avoided at all costs. It's neither a good horror game nor a good action game.
