Seriously how exactly do I do this because some of the discussions I make don't really go anywhere because most people don't feel like discussing them or too lazy to really read.
If I make a discussion that doesn't really go anywhere I might as well delete the thing.

That will do the trick. At the very least, everyone will know the discussion is over. (And, a mod may come over and fully close it at some point.)

Ask a mod, like use the @ method to get their attention then just ask. MandyTalk deleted my duplicate when I simply asked her to!
