Why are killers so much faster than survivor?

I get they need to be faster to end chases but do they need to be as fast as they are? 4.6 with a huge lunge seems very unfair. Survivors should be 4.2 and killers 4.5. Thoughts?

Can I hear from some survivors and not the bored killer mains with no life who stalk this forum? Thanks in advance.

That’s true. I feel slow as killer too. As survivor they feel so fast it’s brutal.

I think part of my problem is that when I play survivor, I don't have any exhaustion perks. Having something like Sprint Burst or Lithe or BL really helps to put some distance between you and the killer, but since I don't use those the killer is basically immediately on my ass. As killer, almost every survivor I face runs an exhaustion perk, and with how crunched for time I am as killer it feels like it takes forever to make up that distance, if I even bother.

Man give me a faster hag and everyone dc's every match. Red ranks already hardly know how to deal with a hag, but a hag thats fast and can trap. Waterlogged shoe is a fun addon when playing collision hag for memes, and no one expects it.

Killers have to be fast to catch up to Survivors or the chase lasts for too long. It is okay for them to be faster :) Especially, how some maps are so big. Not now.

Okay, I play them both. It is a terrible idea. With the speed as it is right now you can loop the killer multiple times if you know what you're doing. If you get hit and again know what you're doing that should carry you close enough to another loop. On top of that you got exhaustion perks, pallets and vaults. These all extend the chase unless you screw it up, get outplayed or server latency screws you. Survivor tends to get screwed far more by latency than killer.

Killer speeds are fine as is. The only way they can get faster is by getting bloodlust stacks which are broken anyways by interactions. There are numerous things that should be addressed with killers that they benefit from. This is not one of them. Just learn from your mistakes and get better at chases.

As obvious bait as that is, I'll still respond.

No. Movement speeds are fine. As for your 4.2 and 4.5 idea...

Huntress's base speed is 4.4 meters per second, .4 meters faster than survivors. If the speeds were changed to Survivor 4.2 and killer 4.5, that would make every killer slower than huntress.

...yeah I just realised what those two are now doing and feel stupid for responding to them lmao. They genuinely got me and I applaud them for that.

Are you serious? There is a reason why killers are faster. We have more ground that we need to cover faster, so naturally we are going to need to be faster than survivors, who mind you, do have the ability to sprint. As well as having a peek to aid them in sprinting faster (sprint burst). Once you give a valid reason why survivors need to be sped up and killers need to be slowed down, then say something.

Also, how do you know some of the people responding to this forum aren't both survivor and killer mains? 👁👄👁

We're not much faster, if you run in a straigh line it actually takes killer a pretty long time to catch up, you lose distance by running left or right to cover. If anything killers should be a little faster. Also fun fact survivors move roughly 6 mph and killer about 7. Legion in frenzy is booking like 13

I agree that killers should even be slower than survivors so that everyone can have their happy ending like in the movies xD

My god you're a veteran baiter, shots baits like guns. 3/10 bait; criative but that would never work and nobody never believed, but I gave your points for trying more harder things, you most likely saw my review of your Freddy bait, so good for you.

I disagree that killers need to be faster. If anything they need to be slower. Not by much, but slower. Especially if they’re ranged. Unless you want to compromise and allow removal of Ebony Mori? Or at least a rework of it. Survivors leave with 3-8K points for not having a chance is unacceptable. Yeah you can juke and run the killer for a moment but does that mean you deserve to get hooked, off the hook and just immediately die? No. I don’t think that’s fair at all. They could at least rework it to make killers hook EVERYONE once before being able to use it. I think that would make it more balanced.

Killers get one hit downs, Exposed effects, etc. There’s literally a hook conveniently an arms length apart from each other. Ez down, ez hook, ez Mori. Thing is, that’s somebody in real life that wanted to play the game too. I don’t care how bad you’re getting gen rushed. Flash lights or Pallets dropping in your face. I don’t think anyone deserves to go out like that. But if they buff killers even more I don’t know if you’re gonna find anymore solo survivors. It’ll just become too frustrating at some point that only SWF teams are gonna be there. Too many crybabies complain about having every ability and not being able to kill people lol maybe next they’ll just give killers the ability to spawn in and delete people. It be like playing black ops zombies rounding a herd then acquiring insta kill power up and you have the pack a punched m60 in your hand. Might as well. Screw those 4 people. #thatsrealtalk

But yeah I think Forcing killer to find everyone in the match and hook them before killing them with your own hands should have been the Ebony Mori. Sounds about right. Current one feels like it encourages tunneling or camping. Not a productive offering for people just trying to enjoy the game. But for some reason In my bloodweb there’s an ebony Mori in every level. Seems fair that they lose their offering every match. Doesn’t seem fair they get so many of them. Too many games I just don’t feel like playing because I see killers bring them in. You’re not slick, it literally doesn’t flip over if it’s a shroud or a Mori. And I know it’s not a shroud. You’re not fooling anyone. Nobody wants to play like that. It’s cheap. Just my two cents. Thanks for listening.

You can find out for yourself.

Here's what you can do (and i say this with no animosity) : go play killer, get out of gray ranks if you're there, chose hag, DONT USE HER POWER, only go for chases and regular attacks.

Report to us in about a week.

And no i'm not a killer main, i play both sides

Killers: 4.6 meters per second. Which is 115% movement speed.

Survivors: 4.0 meters per second which is 100% speed.

Survivors: 4.2 speed is 105% speed

Killers 4.5 speed is 112.5% speed.

This basically is equivalent to bringing down killer speed by 7.5% speed which is 107.5% speed. That is way slower than a m1 hag and huntress..no thank you.

Survivors move at a speed of 4 meters per second, which is a total of 14,400 meters per hour, or 8.948 miles per hour.

Killers move at a speed of 4.6 meters per second, which is a total of 16,650 meters per hour, or about 10.29 miles per hour.

Legion in Frenzy moves at a speed of 5.2 meters per second, which is a total of 18,720 meters per hour or about 11.632 miles per hour.

Okay so I don't main either side, pretty unbiased view from me here then.

    Simple answer: no.

Long answer: No, that sounds like a terrible idea. Killers without mobility are already scuffed at 4.6 or 4.4, we don't need to make it worse for them. We don't want loops extended (which survivors moving at 4.2 would do), we want shorter mindgamable ones where skill is actually demonstrated. Killers are already not that much faster lmao I don't see why we should decrease their speed?

Plus what about the 110% (4.4) killers? What would we do for them? Should they just be the same speed at survivors? What about nurse? How would her speed work out.

    Overall, bad idea, wouldn't recommend.

Edit: fixed numbers where I said 4.4 killers actually moved at 4.2

If you think that Killers need to be slowed, it only means you don't know how to run away from killers. It would really help your argument if you told what your rank in the game is, so people would be more capable to point out where the real problem lies. You can tell a lot about a player based on their rank in this game. I would assume you are somewhere in rank 10-20, that's where these type of complaints often originate.

I did the math last fall too, Killers are supernaturally empowered, while survivors run above average for humans. Demogorgon could probably run raster, and the legion frenzy is about my top sprinting speed from the bodybuilding days. Most of the maps are just 20% too big in many cases

Man, there was a guy on steam forums arguing that killers are slower than survs, and 115% killers were only 115 at bloodlust 3
