3.5.1 Hotfix patch: Hook "tech" and silent slugs still not adressed
Comments

It's been over half a year dude, and nurse's blink is still bugged. I doubt it's even on their radar anymore =/
1 -
Yeah they can, if the Killer messes up. Not because a broken aim-assist forces them too.
Playing survivor should merit some level of actual skill.
1 -
Did they fix Oni's inverted controls reverting in Blood Fury? (playing with a controller on PS4) Anyone know? I've never seen it mentioned in any of the patch notes, but I also haven't played Oni recently.

But the Decisive Strike Doctor big was fixed almost immediately... you can see why people say survivor bias right?
3 -
I think its just hitboxes.

After like 6 months you guys should say you acknowledge the more serious ones that still have not been fixed, it would definitely go a long way to know they are at least being worked on.
Like, just do a news post of known issues, not the little blip at the bottom of patch notes but it's own thing. Just list all the bugs like the Nurse bug and such, the ones that are really impactful, and say hey we know it's been a long while but we are still aware and working on these issues:
If it takes time, fine, but after a certain point there should be some kind of communication. You don't acknowledge the bug reports in the forum because you admitted it's a technical limitation you can't get around, okay, then what about a post once every month or so, that lists current bugs that are being worked on, even if no time is given, just showing they are aware and being dealt with.
That would solve a lot of the anger in the forums too, and wouldn't be that hard to do. Hell a community member could do it for you if no one else wants to, and it would only take like 15 minutes of a devs time to go like "working on it, working on it, unaware will check the post, working on it, not working on it because it's not a bug, working on it" when read back the list.
I don't see why something like that can't be set up.
Edit: Hell, if I made an organized list of larger issues people have been reporting for a while now, would you or would you be able to get someone to just check that list really quick? It would take like a few minutes of their time, and would answer a ton of questions instantly, and negate like a third of the negativity BHVR gets for not being transparent enough. No forum limitations, or "too much time" concerns, no worries about a false promise, just wham bam done.

Giving hatchet as an evample is a bad idea, hatchets hitbox is the most broken hitbox in the whole game lol. But yeah, survivior hitboxes are not that great either. But thats not only while unhooking, its always like that.

Sound issues for killers still a thing months in, but that DS bug fixed in a week lmfao.
2 -
has the delay in the nightmare's ability to place snares fixed? I read nothing about it.
0 -
They didn't even fix the insta-flashlight bug. Have they even acknowledged its existence?
I wouldn’t be surprised if the moment the devs heard about the DS bug, they dropped whatever they were doing and rushed to fix it before even thinking of fixing anything else.
1 -
I haven't seen anything from them about the insta-flashlight bug.
2 -
The hook tech doesn’t even work, I just sit there with them yeah a bit boring but it’s 2 people not doing gens because someone is stupid enough to think this can even be considered “tech”
1 -
Not gonna lie, but it's pretty amusing that you use that as "proof" that you fix killer bugs, when the a large amount of those bugs actually create negative experience for survivors. The point is not that you don't fix killer bugs, the point is that you aren't fixing bugs that are detrimental to killers and have been for literally months.
1 -
To use an example from that screenshot alone, the Freddy snare placement delay negatively affected killers and surfaced at the same time as the Decisive Strike issue. Different bugs take a different amount of time to pinpoint and fix, it's not a matter of preference.
4 -
I get that, i'm just saying that the point of the post was that you aren't fixing serious bugs for killers such as the sound issues that have been around for months. Almost every game i have someone who, while injured literally makes no noise and they don't have iron will. Or while downed they make literally no noise. Or generator noises being bugged (on both sides) but this affects killer more, for example the beginning of this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqhBALWJc50)

I understand the frustration, but to say that it's because we're favouring one side over the other in spite of clear evidence that we aren't is something completely different. It's purely based on how hard the bugs are to fix.
To give an example:
- Decisive Strike doesn't work.
- Each time it's reported, it's against the Doctor.
- Each time it's reported, the survivor gets a madness skill check.
From that alone, you can narrow it down to madness skill checks very quickly, making it easy to figure out what's causing it and fix it.
Likewise, some can be more difficult to reproduce, such as the sound issue:
- Sometimes a survivor does not make sounds when injured or down.
- This happens against any killer, with any build on any map.
- There is no consistent way to make this happen.
Figuring out what exactly is causing this issue takes more investigation, so a fix is naturally going to take longer. (For the record, we are actively investigating this one right now.)

AMEN

That last bit saying you guys acknowledge and are indeed working on it feels really good.

Are you complaining about that free camp survivors allow you to do? Hook tech is awesome!
1 -
Camping is a legit strategy, stop complaining about it.
2 -
You said camping isn't entertaining, someone had to reprimand you for your error.
2 -
Or you can just position yourself correctly and smack them. You’re most likely getting that Survivor down and if they’re dumb enough to stay under the hook, you’ll have two hooked Survivors. If you camp then the other one or two Survivors can just repair the gens.
1 -
Hook Tech, and Window Tech. Youtubers should post awareness messages that these tricks were used against low ranked Killers.
Even if you hide under a person on the hook, you're still going to get hit, and the killer is still gonna take the hook exchange.
If you try to walk through the killer through a window, they are just going to 180/360 and hit you because they have a mouse sensitivity over 50.
0 -
Tested it in KYF, if the Survivor positions correctly you CAN NOT hit them and a clip on the first page of this Thread shows that even tantruming into the hook with Bubba doesn't hit them
1 -
Sounds def need looked into. Still getting no noise from downed survivors here and there and haven’t been able to determine a common factor why. “Hook” tech irks me more as a solo survivor than it does a killer as it’s easy to counter
1 -
Do you have any footage from that session? The only clip I saw is the one from Zubat. What I did during my games was move to the side with the Survivor facing me and I managed to hit them.
1 -
I don't know about Ayrun anymore, but Ussylis only plays at rank 1 and he's MY main source of tech knowledge. Him and Otz are the ones I watch since I don't have the time to watch streamers.
1 -
If they are pulling these tricks off in high ranks i'm surprised. It's laughable when I see survivors do it. I get so confused because I literally can turn all the way around with the flick of my wrist.
I just hit the survivor under the hook when they do hook tech.
0 -
Yea he only got it to work early when it came out, after that he just used it to disorient the killer and get his exhaustion back to make a clean getaway.
1 -
You can't do that when they are not brain dead, they'll wait for you to enter the hooking animation before they come close enough for you to hit them.
0 -
No I just tested it with some friends and even if I recorded it I wouldn't post it because it could make Survivors "better" at exploiting that #########.
Also, if you try to hit them from another angle they can just adjust under the hook accordingly.
1 -
Careful, you are giving the developers a heartattack with so much truth.
2 -
The new hook tech is dumb. Just camp them. It's their fault for letting their teammate die on hook, or it's their fault if they go down trying to pull it off or leaving the hook so they don't get their teammate killed. 🤷♀️
0 -
I dont know why a killer would complain about the hook tech. You can camp two people for free or ain't correctly and hit them. It's a dumb tech.
The bugged slug sounds I think it has to do with iron will randomly procing while on the ground. But yes that needs addressed.
1 -
Ever think about that camping is boring af for some Killer players? I hate that "playstyle".
It doesn't have anything to do with Iron Will, it even happens without the person having it.
0 -
at 9:40 is an example of a slug not making noise. Its not every slug even in this match thats doing it either
1 -
Also in regard to Umbra's clip: The Quentin on the ground at the end did not have Iron Will so it's not related to that for the person who thought it was.
1 -
Yup but there not survivor biased at all right
1 -
If you dont want to camp you can easily hit them. It's a stupid tech and you should punish it.
Everyone is complaining about it when there are bigger balance issues that need to take priority. But the devs listen to whiners and low ranks.. so meh..
It will get fixed shortly while we still have all kinds of rampant sound bugs and maps arent getting addressed. (Atleast the problematic ones that are still to big to patrol)
0 -
Iron will doesn't work in the dying state anyway
0 -
They've been "fixing" sound for over a year now
0 -
How often do I have to say that you CAN NOT hit them when they position correctly? The only thing that CAN work is throwing a Hatchet below the hooked persons feet when you step back from the hook, but otherwise there is no chance. It's like talking to a wall.
1 -
It's a mindgame, I have hit them when they have tried... as I said before if you are having such an issue with it camp a little bit. Whether you like to or not it's the appropriate response.
Just like rushing gens on a camping leatherface is the appropriate response. You have to punish these actions. Everyone always thinks these techs are op. Most of them dont work at high level play or they only work once until the killer wishes up.
As I said before there are many more vital issues that need fixed before this "op hook tech" lol.
0 -
And again, as I said multiple times, it is not about that I can camp them, but that it makes camping the best option there and that is soooo damn boring.
1 -
I never said it did. If you read the first comment of page 4, you would see what I was replying to, which I clearly explained in my response. "for the person who thought it was"
