Rift grind

Am I the only one that feels exhausted from the previous rift to really try to complete this one?

    Not really.

I reached Tier 70 on the previous rift in the beginning of december. I liked the new tome and it's challenges in level 1. At the moment i'm at Tier 20.

I’m not even trying. I’m annoyed by how many people no longer do the objective and make it harder on everyone else.

Nothing in the rift other than the Elephant costume interest me. Since I don’t own the Clown, no reason to pursue it.

I compeleted all challenges and put a frankly absurd amount of playtime in between challenge releases and still had to buy the last 3 levels. Not buying this onenuntol I can see how far I get by the last week.

I also think most of the rewards are ass.

Half of them are colour variants for outfits I already bought that cost more than the entire pass INDIVIDUALLY which means im probably not gonna buy store cosmetics anymore.

also charms look good on survivor but tacky as hell on hooks. They should have customised the layout of them for ever individual killer hook design.

Same, I was completely burned out after the rift grind. I'm currently tier 2 in the new rift. I have not completed any survivor challenges yet, and just with the last game the second killer challenge.

Luckily, there's not really anything in the rift that I'd want (well maybe the Last Gasp charm would be nice, but that alone is not worth it), and the only character the tome is about that I am somewhat interested in is spirit, the doc I hate with passion, and Jane and David are ok but I usually don't play them. So I'll skip it.

I also feel really exhausted, takes too long to get fragments

It would be a little better if matches didn't just reward around 500XP each time. I feel that the XP amount could be increased a little more, or gain more bonus XP based on Emblem scores, or even a % bonus per Devotion level earned.

Well when i do those objectives i do them at the same time as i do gens so i balance it so i don't just sit there on a totem while it's still 5 gens left now i know that many survivors do that so that's very annoying yes.

It would be cool if you could get xp bonuses within rift similar to Fortnite. Along with gaining extra xp for playing with friends.

Adding a few fragments on dailies would help imo. That's what separates the BP from every other game compared to this one. They have weeklies and dailies. Good example would be apex where it takes a while but you can still finish it with 3 weeks of challenges to spare.

I'm kind of as well but that's my own fault.

I finished the 1st Rift right after the 2nd Level came out. Basically that means I brute forced most of it with just normal XP. This time I know I should just go a little slower.

I haven't minded this one so far. None of the challenges are too hard. I got the survivor ones done in a day.

Definitely a grind, but I am an addict unfortunately so I keep playing.

Won't buy the pass until the end just to make sure i get far enough.

Not really. It seems ok. I completed the level 1 tome in two-three days (except Jane challenge because I don't have the character) and after I just play a match as killer and one as survivor every day. You can easily reach level 17-18 in two weeks and that's all it takes to reach level 70.

I only noticed a raise in people sabotaging hooks, that's all. And that wasn't excessively because the progress design this time allows enough alternatives so not everyone gets bottled to the same challenge. And there is not really any other challenge that influences gameplay negatively.

For me the grind is totally ok. I create some builds to better get the challenges done but mostly this is just about one or two perks changing. So normal playstyle is still possible. Inner Strength + Detectives Hunch for example to cleanse totems. Cleansed what I found acidentially, otherwise one totem per gen. Took 3 games to finish and you get your speed heals up during the whole match, you find the hexes early and counter NOED. Actually a build I now like to play a lot more than what I did before by default.

It took me 1 week to get all challenges done, with XP fragments reaching tier 14. Tier 14 is what you shold have when level 2 is released, so the current week until Tuesday is bonus progress to have some buffer when the level 4 challenges are too hard. But I'm pretty sure with my average gametime, I will finish the rift again somewhere during level 3

I get on a gen, teammate goes to nearest hook, Sabotages said hook, alerting the killer to our presence.

One survivor is looping the killer, one is on hook, I’m working on a gen, we still need 4 gens, teammate comes by and loots a chest, forcing me to get off gen to unhook, because apparently looting a chest is more important than unhooking or doing a gen.

It happens more often than you think. I love it when they try to loot the basement chest and get caught down there.

The whole point of the Rift is for it to be a tedious grind to goad people into buying the tiers. Don't fall for it!

I made it to tier twenty. The grind feels a lot smoother, my biggest complaint is the killer challenges. As someone who doesn’t play much killer, getting into games made the challenges so much more annoying to complete as I usually didn’t get that challenge done in one game. Survivor one’s I liked, and I am determined to get to tier 70 this time around.

    I just reached lvl. 46.

I expect to be done with the Rift on February 5th.

It keeps it interesting for me. I don’t rush through it though and do like 1-2 challenges a week. My job is pretty intense so I don’t have much leftover energy.

I see this all the time, and as I said, during last week not increasingly bad. Regarding chests, I remember 3 people running items builds and asking for coin offerings. Gifting others all the nice items.

I agree Sairek. In a past iteration of the game, I would have loved a system that required this much grind. But in the current state, they've left games extremely quick, hard to obtain objectives, and killers only to go against SWF groups. I can't be bothered to invest in that play style any longer.
