Old Ruin Was Better

Okay, you’ve probably heard this title a million times already but I wanted to share my experience of this. Been playing Huntress for the past 4 hours. Mostly every single match I played was against a SWF, 2-man is okay, I can handle that but these were 3/4 man considering the perks were all the same and they were all in each others’ friend lists. Anyway, every match I have been able to get 2-3 downs only. Every match I get the same builds - 1 OoO user with dead hard, adrenaline, decisive, and a Styptic, the rest are Engineers/Commodious toolboxes with a prove thyself here and there. As a result, my games are lasting no longer than 2-3 minutes and no fun for me whatsoever. The ruin change felt like it completely trashed low tier killers and prevented good killers getting the map pressure they needed. No amount of hatchets thrown across the map will give me enough pressure to win those matches. On top of all this, all I’m seeing is teabag at pallet, teabag at window too! The gens are going too fast. I don’t think changing toolboxes is going to completely help everything either.

  • Sincerely, a survivor main trying to play killer

    That's a lot of bs...jeez

You don't have to try this hard to get the community's sympathy man.

BS? I wish it was, truly. No need to get the communities sympathy either, I just want there to be a secondary objective/longer gen times like everyone else. BHVR are egging on these quicker games without thinking about the killer’s view. Maybe I’m just getting unlucky, but I’m serious about all this man.

Possibly. Or we’re simply just getting different people, there are tons of people playing DBD. Or maybe we’re on different platforms- would it help if I specified PS4?

Here is the only problem. Good survivors just hit great skill checks and ruin is useless.

That's a little hard to believe Kai. What rank are you if you're just starting out? For four hours you get nothing but SWFS with OoO and commodius toolboxes. Why not just dodge after you notice the pattern? If PS4 is anything like xbox you can check profiles with the click of a button and see that they are friends/swf before the match. I do think that SWFs are more prevalent on console, tho. Console players just have the mentality of playing with friends and also tend to be younger in age than pc players. Also, as a huntress if they are teabagging at pallets or windows, that's primetime right there. How are you not capitalizing on them standing still?

I too am a survivor main just getting into killer, but you may want to try and switch up your killer if you notice a pattern of OoO players. Ghostface can't be seen with the perk when shrouded. I think its the same for pig when crouched and Freddy outside the dreamworld. Doc will make them unable to use styptics in tier 3 madness. Also if you see a lot of medkits and suspect swf, The Plague might be a better choice too.

Firstly, I never said I was starting out. Next, I said mostly. In those 4 hours I played around 12 games ish, 8/12 were SWF, the other 4 either contained 2-man or solos. Plus, I have still have the original PS4, in the minute it gives you until it starts the game, I can only get up around 2 accounts, it's rather slow. The teabagging, although yeah is prime time, its usually over obstacles I'm not too keen on hitting over, eg. the junk loops on Azarov's, any vehicle loop, the taller Temple of Purgation wall loops, etc.

I would switch up my character but I'm going for the Skilled Huntress achievement since I've gotten all the other killer power achievements. I feel a little scummy putting on the Iri Head but at the same time, that puts my hatchets down to 1/2/3 depending on the add-on and since I'd be going for snipe shots, I don't think that's a good idea.
