DBD is a horror game and it's REALLY, REALLY scary, you're just playing it wrong.
If you want to sh*t your pants with this game, just play killer. Everything in the map is there to scare killers. You have to fear pallets, gen speed, strong windows, strong loops, flashlights, keys, toolboxes, Decisive Strike, Object of Obsession, Borrowed Time, exhaustion perks, SWF on comms and even LOCKERS! (head on), yes, the killer must fear that piece of metal with two doors that Dwights use to hide. Also you'll probably fear staying too close to the hook since you'll be insulted when the match is over.
This game is really scary, you're just playing the wrong side, just play killer and you'll see. :-D

I get jump scared by unseen survivors hitting me with pallets or Head-On'ing me way, way more than I ever get spooked as a survivor.

Not going to lie - I get jumpscared as killer all the time 😁 The worst is when I'm minding my own business zooming around the map with hillbilly and a P3 claudette jumps out of a bush, runs into my chainsaw and scares the **it out of me!

One of my friends once suggested this game be reskinned so its one survivor and four devilish imps harassing the survivor whilst he tries to escape. Obviously just a farce but a funny one when such experiences as killer are so common.

Yep, me too, sometimes i don't expect it and the pallet gives me the jump scare.
Not head on really, I'm like... "well, sh*tty trol perk".
The difference is that the pallet has a strong wood sound that head on doesn't, you just get stunned.

It's hard to be scared when you know what's coming vs let's say a silent Hill game. Dbd is a horror survival game not a true horror game.

DbD is the scariest game i've ever played.
Honestly if they can somehow make every map like Lerys and give every killer spooky music and jump scare potential DbD will be scary again.
Until you run into the monstrosity i posted above then you'll just laugh and have fun because elephant clown is awesome and fun.

Lery's and Hawkins National Laboratory are great maps, fairly balanced, since there are no strong windows and survivors have to improvise. On the other hand, McMillan and Autohaven have really formulated tiles. You just have to memorize how to loop them and that's it, you're a god-tier survivor. Also, ironworks of misery window and wretched shop are just ridiculous.

When i mentioned lerys as being scarier i was referring to it more from an aesthetic standpoint.
It looks better than the other maps and has a darker mood to it. It's also darker than most maps in general and limited line of sight in most directions which make it feel more like a horror game.

They should reskin it as 4 smurfs and Gargamel, it would be hilarious!

Don't forget the four windows and two pallets on grim pantry, yikes. If you know how to run it you can infinite the killer and let's hope the killer has enough sense to just walk away.

+1 to this idea that would be amazing.

Yes, there are a lot of examples of strong windoes that should be removed, since some killers (like pig, wraith or LF) have no other option but to vault it 3 times, wasting an insane amount of time or leave and waste time looking for another survivor who might ALSO go to that window. That's just stupid.

Posts are getting dumber here.

Can confirm I feel more like in a horror game playing Killer than survivor

Lockers are terrifying when a survivor just leaps out from nowhere and stuns me. Everytime, without fail, I die a little inside.

Yep, thats why i feel I HAVE to run Bamboozle on my poor Piggy. Though I haven't played in over a month since they started nerfing killers left and right for no good reason. They had a reason, survivor 'fun', but its not anywhere close to a good, much less balanced reason.
