Why can't Nurse cancel a charged blink?
Other killers, such as Huntress, Plague, and Clown, can cancel their ability for one reason or another. Why can't Nurse?

Not really. You're hit with fatigue and a cooldown.

You have to know when it's right to charge a blink, it's something good Nurses need to know and learn. It's part of her mindgame. Charge it too much and survivors might double back, so you angle the blink slightly down to kill some of that distance. Having the option to cancel the blink would be a little too good imo and there wouldn't really be any way to counter that as a survivor.

And yet that's precisely what Demo can do, and I haven't seen any 'nerf Demo' posts regarding his Shred bait.

Demo's shred doesn't ignore every single mechanic in the game though...

Nurse's blink doesn't ignore every single mechanic. Its still bound to walls (deadzones the developers refuse to fix), it can be outstealthed/juked, Nurse can still be stunned midblink with pallets (braindead hardcounter since the introduction of servers). And last but not least, thanks to the cooldown you can outrun a Nurse by just running forward.

I didn't actually know about that pallet thing. That's kinda dumb lol but I don't see anyone try to do it, they just attempt to stun me when I emerge from a blink instead

I actually tried this on Lèry's just to see if this is a thing, it somewhat works because she has to waste time making distance on you.
I definitely feel like I outplayed the killer. 😁
On a serious note, I think Nurse is fine besides a few of her add-ons, cool-down to only apply to her successful lethal blinks, and OP's idea would make her beast again (while maintaining counterplay).
