Survivor DDosed me after slugging him for a 4K
After the match with the doctor, I had a survivor threatening me to DDos me. Now I didn't take it seriously as I assumed he was bluffing (I really wished I took a screenshot of that, but my dumbass-self thought he wasn't serious).
I lost internet for 45 minutes before it came back on.
I don't remember the name of the person (which means I can't report him, or send info to the police about this), but seriously, are entitled survivors going to go that far just because the killer plays in a way that you don't like?

Also if anyone has advice on how to find the username of the person who DDOSed me would be greatly appreciated.

If you're on console check under recent players. For pc unfortunately i wouldn't know.

are you on xbox perhaps ddos threats and ddosing are pretty much common place here

Sadly, I play on PC, so I really don't know who I recently played with

This is what happens when you give guns to monkeys.

What is DDos?

Direct denial of service. Basically a network of false pings from his system made it so he couldn't get online.
It's not terribly hard to do, but it is pretty annoying.

A mod or dev should be able to help you with this.

@Peanits Is there anything I can do to find out who DDos me to report them? (I play on PC)

I'm not entirely sure how to help. I would suggest filing a report, but you don't have his name, correct?

Yes, I don't know his name

Unless BHVR has some way to see your previous players since you can't remember the person's name, I don't believe there is much that is able to be done.

No this is what happens when you give guns to monkeys.

You sir, just earned a Vote up!

Steam has a recent players option, try that.

Without the profile of the person and proof from your ISP that your network was cut as a result of an attack there's nothing we can do.
Because the game is now on Dedicated Servers, this does not work with Steam any longer - because there's no connection to one another, which does raise the question of how someone can get the relevant information to attack someone else's internet.

You can use the programne wire shark to track the IP address of the guy who DDosed you. I am not 100% sure but you can find out the steam account with that IP adress somehow. I never done that but overall I have to say that is really sad to do... But I found one leatherface that DDosed my friend because he looped him for 4 gens.

Thats something the devs cant do anything about. Some people are just losers.

That's a mystery. Just goes to show though, even on a video game you are never safe. Unless you wanna use a VPN and suffer higher ping.

It's fairly easy to do, especially if someone is streaming. I've had survivors come into my twitch chat and start to dox me.

If you get help with that address the issue with killers using lag switches to make it impossible to stand a chance. I also know it's a lag switch because I can see the host connection before the game. Then when u are chased u rubber band back to them how convenient.

If you are in steam, there is a way to view people who you recently played with.
It is a bit unreliable at times, but It does work a decent amount.

This is why you use a VPN.

I'd rather not have my ping and my game become a lag feast because of a vpn.
Idk how he did it if that's the cause, maybe he accessed my steam account after the game? Idk how exactly people get Ip addresses through steam
