Should survivors be able to escape this often?

All I will say is that I watch plenty of killer streamers and they win most games.
noob3 on stream is nothing like his videos which as you would expect from that kind of personality are highly edited and most him bullying noob killers. Hell I’ve seen him disconnect when hes getting owned before.

Well, dang! Love your vids. I wish I could say "I've been around forever" but I only truly found you around a month ago.

He does it cause it brings in income for his channel. That's what his fans want to see.

Do they streak like that all the time would be the next question, or are they only showing what they want you to see and not the dozens of other games they got killed in...just the streak they managed to pull off.
I just don't feel taking a individual survivor streaks on youtube then asking if survivors as a whole should escape like that is a fair question.

This is actually my question.
But the devs have the data as to whether or not streaks like this are common or uncommon.
If they're uncommon then oh well. If they're relatively common, then is it intended for individual survival rates to be high?
0 -
Eh? Don't we already have survival rates? And they're almost all below 50% for each killer?

Now, for the answer to your question, will agree that a survivor shouldn't be able to do this...
But like some people already said, these guys had at least 1 or 2 other people helping them out. Literally throwing themselves away to keep their teammate alive. And others have shown killers getting many 4ks in a row.
Now, in the end, you can look at it from this side: should a swf be able to pull this off?
Personally I dont believe it should. But, as of the way it is balanced atm, it is honestly not the hardest thing to believe.

I thought we had established (and been told) that the data was unreliable and not used for balance, else Trapper would be nerfed and Nurse would be buffed.
There are too many variables at play. For example, most Survivors at Red Ranks currently are boosted. The ranking system is...not great and Rank Reset doesn't help. BUT, the system for Killer is working fine, meaning most Red Rank Killers are supposed to be there. Ergo, there can be a massive skill difference between Killers and Survivors at Red Ranks, inflating kill rates.
Is that true? I do not know, but it seems highly likely. That's just one variable, I am sure there are plenty more.
1 -
Oh I agree the data doesn't mean much, but he was asking for data that was already have, as useless as it is.

The variables in all these escape streaks are aimed to favor the video creator. Can we also take into the fact that you can die as a survivor and still make decent points? Like We're Gonna Live Forever and Prove Thy Self can net large points for other objectives and you could die on hook and be ahead of the game.

True. However, I think he means reliable data. Unfortunately, I am not sure if there is a way to collect that until the MM and Ranking System are fixed. I think we will all be in the dark regarding kill rates until then, especially considering the, frankly embarrassing, reaction to the stats.

I don't really see how you can compare the escape of an individual survivor to a killer getting a 4K or whatever. The equivalent to that would be all 4 survivors escaping however many games in a row.
I don't see any problem with someone's individual escape rate being high. If we just assume a truly perfect 2k balance where every match ends in a 2k and the survivors play anything that resembles normally, over time it would become more and more statistically unlikely for an individual survivor to continue to be one of the 2 that escapes.
And in most of those crazy escape streaks they play with at least one person that will happily sacrifice their life to keep the streak going. They're not even playing normal DBD anymore but some sort of "Protect The VIP" game mode. If survivors want to, they can select a specific survivor as the one that they want to escape, and do a damn fine job of improving that survivor's odds. But that might mean dying for them. I see no problem with that at all, if anything it can make them play less effectively overall. They will trade however many people it takes to save the VIP afterall, even if it's a Leatherface with his chainsaw revved in their face.
The "streamsnipers" are a mixed bag too. Some just want to boost the streak, others will do everything in their power to end it for one reason or another.

This is the best way to answer this based on how I've seen you respond in the thread, @SpaceCoconut.
The devs have stated they intend to balance on a 2 kill 2 escape trial. This means they intend for two survivors to escape every single match, with a few exceptions.
If this is the case, one can assume that the two highest skilled survivors in any given trial should escape. When people like No0b3, Puppers, Ayrun, and other survivor mains that essentially play the game as their primary source of income, are playing, they have an extremely high chance of being the highest skilled survivor for that particular trial. If you are the highest skilled survivor, you have a higher chance of escape. When you are the highest skilled survivor and your team is making a concerted effort to keep your streak going, that chance increases further.
So based on the fact that the devs intend for every match to have two survivors escape, and the fact that the higher skilled you are as a survivor, the more likely you are to survive, I would say yes, the devs intend for highly skilled survivors to sometimes obtain long escape streaks.

This makes sense.

But knowing they do exist out there shows a bias as you are highlighting a one sided viewpoint using a rare circumstance.
The issue with using such videos is the same as using any killer ones to try and prove a point for nerfs to them.
DBD had many skilled players but in the end yes matchmaking can and is the deciding factor for a lot of them as you so not know how well the other can play. I can't see this ever changing.
Take AngryPug who is considered a great survivor. He played for 5 hours and escaped a handful of times. What does this say? Was he playing at his best? Was it who he was matched with? Was it just good killer players?
DBD had no real way to reflect skill with so many rng aspects. You also have to account for the hatch and items like keys when it comes to escapes which Noob3 for one tends to use a lot in these challenges. Then their is what killers they verse on the tier list and the killers players ability. Sometimes players get lucky with who they verse and spawns of the hatch.
I believe they have done changes based on how well some individual survivors play as when something has been shown to be strong changes have been made to that side at all. Afterall its the player base who show how strong things can be on both sides.
I truly think you are trying to push something using a minute metric which doesn't say anything apart from they are amazing players who got lucky at that time. The same as those who 4k for a set length of games as its far and above what the normal game is.
Now if you take the vast majority of any of these players videos you would find this isn't the norm for them and its extremely rare that they accomplish this and why after 3 years their may be a handful of videos from them.
Since you like making videos I would love to see you perdonally try this challenge as survivor over say a 4 hour period.

Ayrun actually had 96 escapes in a row on stream and it only ended because the hatch spawned inside a tree or something.
These streaks would not be possible if keys didn't exist (highest escapes in a row is 33 without items or offerings) or if they were playing solo. Both of these things are already problems in the game.
I don't see any problems with this since everyone in the team is helping one person escape and they don't care if they survive or not. Getting a 3k is still a win for the killer.
It would be possible to do a similar thing as killer by using ebony moris and powerful killers with good addons.
2 -
You're telling it as if they didn't have killers streamsniping with moris as well...

The post has 3 pages and only five or so people responded the real question Coconut was asking. This really goes to show how hard (for the average person) it is to interpret posts on this forum.

I mean of course, but even a stream sniping killer doesn't stand a chance against a team of 4, where 3 of them are willing to literally bring you items and die just to protect the 4th person at all costs.

If it was done often, the best players wouldn't use it for content
