My absolute tinfoil hat theory about chapter 15!(Resident Evil x DBD)
Yet again, hello terrific people, it's time to slap on your tinfoil hats because we're going completely crazy mode and with the possibility that we could be getting teasers very soon I'll throw my crazy hat in the ring one last time before teasers. So, let's begin!
It technically started way back in November when Dave tweeted this out.
And if you look at the replies it could possibly lend even more hints. Then, if you like to take leaks into account we got the wall break possibly being a power and we got a new one into account that I'll talk about later. Now, the Resident Evil portion comes in mainly with two points. Timing and the fact that the tyrants are well, wall breakers. The timing comes from the fact that we might be seeing a chapter release around the timeframe of RE3's release date so, it'd be a really good crossover opportunity. Too add onto that this leak was just shown today.
Now, personally, I think it could be one of three things. Another exposed status effect, a explode icon or a lock-on icon. And well, Nemesis uses a rocket launcher that can probably lock-on to targets and cause multiple people to go down. I also believe that "downs people in other games" part of the one reply honestly does mean something.
With all this said, this was all basically just tinfoil hat speculation/just for fun and we really don't know much of anything. Also, plans change so also keep that in mind. And apologies if this is worded weirdly, I'm tired. Alright, tinfoil hats off people!

Fun theory but there's no way Capcom is going to give their competition access to their IP with R3 Resistance coming out in the same niche that DBD is in.

Just like having Jason in DBD I think it would be just free cross promotion, the games are similar in the genre and will appeal to a the same audience, but the games themselves are completely different. Sure three are those people that will spend 1000s of hours on one game and one game only, but the majority of people would just be more intrigued to check out the other if they weren't interested in one to begin with.
Capcom however is pretty headassed so its not likely they'll see for that. Which is a shame because give me Leon

You'd think BUT remember, they have done crossovers before when they had competing modes in there before with L4D2. Also, I'll always say the only comparisons are that they're asymmetrical games and 4V1, that's really it. If that's enough, well, only time will tell.

With how quiet they've been I'm inclined to think it's licensed, so this very well could be the case. It could also be "The Tank" from L4D, which would fit the clues we've been given.

If it's the tank, I literally want survivors flying dozens of meters forward with every hit.
Also... I rather have the smoker... it would be a new mechanic in dbd.

Yup, agree, they've super hush on this one. I'd prefer a resident evil chapter but I'd adore to see the tank, I'd also appreciate a paragraph becoming a full chapter.

You guys need to give up on the Resident Evil thing. Capcom is too big to do a crossover with an indie studio, and they are releasing a competing game soon.

Barley a indie studio, also, with a game with the IP's of Halloween, NOES, Leatherface, Ghostface and Stranger Things, come on now, if there's money to be made with a crossover and if it fits then why not? Also, PR is really in it's own league of asymmetry but is it enough to deny a crossover? We'll just have to wait and see, plus, even if it doesn't happen now it could later.

What about a ghost that can just float through loops.
The HUD icons could just be the Survivors getting chased by the ghost.
Maybe the Survivors get a camera to flash the ghost to slow them.
Could be a handheld camera or an Interactive object on the map (like jigsaw boxes etc)

They are absolutely an indie studio. They have one game that is mildly a hit, and even then, it's still niche. Every other attempt they have made has been an abysmal failure. They are known for DBD, but most of their past projects have been shoddy ports, and terrible licensed games.
In any case, Capcom doesn't need DBD's money. They are Capcom. It's Resident Evil. That franchise is a license to print money.

Wow, you're actually right about the icons, damn... oh well, still hoping it's Resident Evil but I'll be happy with whatever. Also, never said they needed anything, it would 100% be a decision directed in BHVR's favor. I'll just leave it at a kind agree to disagree and hope your day is lovely.

I feel like Capcom would be shooting themselves in the foot if they did this.
They're releasing their own 4v1 game in April. That means DbD would get RE3 content before RE3 unless its Mr X not Nemesis.
Why would Capcom give DbD the advantage over resistance?
