It’s not the gen speed, it’s that killer mistakes are 4x as costly

My point is that killer mistakes have immense repercussions compared to survivor mistakes that are minuscule compared to killer as you have 3 other teammates to rely on and having a easier objective, killer have plenty of 2nd chances but it depends on survivor mistakes and as I just mentioned survivor mistakes are nothing compared to killer mistakes...

Lol I’ve had 2 gens pop before my first down and I started a snow ball with bbq and chili and for a 4k with 3 gens up , further proof that gen rushing takes no skill and red ranks is fuulnof potatoes, you just got to apply pressure ( if you can )

Lol I’m a killer main 75/25 for each role trust me it takes no skill to gen rush but it does take skill to loop lol

I agree and disagree at the same time. I agree that killer mistakes can usually be very costly, but that's true for survivors too. Just a tiny mistake around a loop can potentially end the game for a survivor, if not for the team.

Disagree that survivor mistakes are miniscule. There are games where one mistake single handedly gives killers a 4k, the killer just doesn't realize it. It's a big assumption that you can rely on even one of your teammates in most games.

You gotta see it from the other side too, though. If survivors weren't able to pump out all 5 generators within 2 minutes, it would mean that killer just needs to camp every hook to kill everyone (since the sacrifise time is 2 minutes).

Killer mistakes are far less forgiving than survivor mistakes. The only person a killer has to fall back on is himself. He has no team to carry a load. This is why killer is so damn difficult, as any mistake we make can be a costly one.

Survivors have three other people to make up for their mistakes and lack of effort, so they are able to make more because of it.

And yes, gen speed is fine. What is not fine is the gen speed on maps the size of Australia. Gens popping before you see/down people is incredibly disheartening to any killer. While we can turn it around, sometimes you can’t. Newer players don’t understand this yet, however, and will suffer more from it. Just shrink the damn map size already or give killers who need it better mobility.

Why is that such a bad thing?

It's not the gen speeds! The problems are in the map design, tiles and certain perks that can prolong a chase.

Yep, unpopular but true opinion, the problem is maps for specific killers, that's it, I can still 4k all gens done, the number of gens done does not imply I'm "losing"

    It's map size.

Is that one mistake resulting in a 4k, or is it one mistake resulting in a domino effect of misplays resulting in a 4k?

The single most annoying thing about survivors is the amount of second chance perks they have. When the game lasted longer, it wasn't as noticeable, but now. Nothing is as irritating as completely out playing a survivor on a loop, only to have him use dead hard to erase your brilliant play.

It's like bowser in Mario party, no matter how good you play, it's not in your hands and it never was.

It's both. Gen speeds are ridiculous and killer mistakes are more costly. The game is harder for killers in general (12 hooks and 24 hits to get a 4K IF you play by the survivor rule book by not tunneling and camping) and easy for survivors, even in solos. Anyone who says killer is easy is either in yellow ranks or consistently goes against potato survivors. Killers are severely limited when it comes to being able to control the flow of the match, even with Nurse, Spirit, and Billy. Pressuring all 5 gens in an open map is not possible against good survivors and if you commit to one chase for longer than 30 seconds, 2-3 gens can be done. The game is designed poorly. Firstly it shouldn't even be classified as a horror game (only the 12 year olds get scared), secondly, it shouldn't even have killers below B tier in a tier list. The fact that killers can be weak when the killer is supposedly meant to have the power role just shows blatant hypocrisy and lack of knowledge or willingness to actually balance the game with fixing the mechanics rather than rolling out constant nerfs to both sides (survivors have way less nerfs btw).

Killer is meant to have the power role

(gets nerfed consistently and rarely gets bug fixes)

DBD is treated as a competitive game, has been since 2017, and it's why killers have it hard. All survivors are sweaty gen rushers who will avoid chases at all costs just to have a quick 5 minute game. That's why there's so many potatoes in red ranks, it's so easy for survivors to rank up because all they have to do is hold M1 for x amount of time and bam, instant pip. They eventually get to red ranks and when they start getting consistently chased they do terrible because they're always being immersed gen rushers and the few times they did get chased when they were in purple ranks and lower, they went against potato killers. Now in red ranks they can't last more than 10 seconds in a chase against a basic M1 killer. The current state of DBD for survivors is hold M1, get a save or two, avoid the killer at all costs, tbag at exit gates and chant Gg2Ez. The current state of DBD for killers is get 1 hook by the time 2 gens have been done even though the chase only lasted 10 seconds because of toolboxes, BNP's, and the fact that multiple survivors can work on gens together (44 seconds for 2 survivors, very balanced) and low mobility for most killers. It's common knowledge that no matter how good a killer is in chases, he's still going to get gen rushed against decent survivors, so perks and powers that help with chases are pretty much useless, and the perk which helped slow gens down the most (ruin) got nerfed into the ground and now only works against potatoes who can't commit to gens. So even if killers play optimally (fast chases, constantly patrolling gens), they can still get gen rushed. Now if they make a mistake, that's around 20 free seconds given to survivors to complete gens. Basically most things that helped with slowing gens down have been nerfed (Forever Freddy is a perfect example). I wouldn't be surprised if they made it to where Dying Light and Thanosphobia or however it's written don't stack.

that is due to genspeed being as fast as it is.

if games were slower, a mistake as killer wouldnt cost you the entire game.

You can't make a mistake because you couldn't possibly traverse the map and get to where the survivors are while 2 gens pop in the beginning of the game.

So run some second chance perks like blood warden and noed.

    That's so true.

as survivor with godlike perks like ds, dead hard or unbreakable you can save games and sloppy loops, while as killer I can instantly understand when a missed hatchet or being cucked by auto-aim is gonna cost me the match.

Survivors control the speed of the gens, which puts the killer on the clock. The faster the clock, the less amount of mistakes you can make as killer in order to have enough time to recover unless you're Billy/Spirit/Freddy. It's not all on the killer because they didn't ApPlY pReSsUrE and there's not enough reliable endgame perks to compensate outside NOED.
