Survivors don't want to do chases anymore.Im a killer who enjoys engaging in Chases.

I was never a ruin Killer but damn ever since the update its like Survivors just want to do gens and not get chased any more. Yeah I understand gens are their objective. Hooks are Killers but I don't find in fun just camping hooks to get kills. I'm red rank Killer and I'm finding hard to even enjoy the game anymore. I just get Potatos that can't handle chases, Survivors with every Second chance perk DS and BT are overkill. Or I get Tools boxes and keys. I use to have fun in chases now I'm just rushing to kick gens facing hatch escapes.
Like Survivors Mains. I want to play the game to with having to be forced to slug,tunnel to get D's out the way, and camp hooks, I don't want have to plan a 3 gen Strategy every game.
I just want it to be like the old times I guess.
Ps. I don't think the game is hard. I just want more time for chases. Because I find them to be most fun.

This. If you never ran Ruin, nothing changed. They didn't secretly add an update that made Gens timers shorter.

I dont know about others but I actually do love chases since there is nothing special holding m1 and pressing space whole game. I wanna make mindgames and be active in the game by doing something different than gen rushing. So I run object of obsession and no mither to make the killer chase me :D

Well that's nice to see someone else likes chases too. I would love to chase you all game.But the Gates will be open by time we had are fun. Lol

I think that's what happened. If these survivors couldnt hit great skill checks ruin probably kept them in their place.

I get what you mean, since they have no reason to be scared of the big thing slowing them down, they will bum rush gens and get it out of the way, and then proceed to insult for working on gens with a friend.

Old ruin held the most boosted survivors from reaching red ranks. Now those spine chill, urban evaders are able to just get the gens and get out and barely pip every few games while safetying in most.
There are still some of us non toxic survivors that want to be chased without the need of gunning for main building and hump the broken window setup, but I have also noticed more and more boosted team mates in red ranks soon after ruin nerf.

A lot of contradictory statements in here. Never ran ruin, but somehow the game is more difficult for you.
Don't camp or tunnel but always having to 'get DS out of the way but tunnelinog'. Why are you worrying about DS at all if you don't camp and tunnel?

I agree. Sure, Gens get points, and it's the objective, but there's no real challenge holding a button. I like the thrill of being chased, and trying to outplay a killer. It's also helped me to become better in chases overall. And you're right on the boosted red ranks. Can't tell you how many I've seen that literally just straight line run from a killer, or throwing down a pallet instantly without looping it first.

I get like a legit really good game 1 every 15 games. I'm talk about games that are intense but everyone is still enjoyed the game. Survivors and Killers.We all had games we're like Wow at the end of the game but a Good Wow because you had fun.

That's all I play for honestly. I don't play to win anymore. I just want to have fun, and have a laugh while playing. Winning is a bonus for me

I like chases as well, except when I get my ars kicked.
I think some of the problem is how many potatoes are in high ranks now. I have double pipped 5 times today playing killer. All ranks 8 -4. They can't loop, hook diving trying to hide in bushes. Like #########.
Think new reset boosted a lot of players.

I don’t chase anyone that asks to be chased. I don’t think it’s fun getting looped, pallet stunned and blinded while 3 gens pop. So I’ll follow them for a few seconds and abort. When all of them seem like a good SWF I’ll just go protect my basement chest. I’ve had more fun doing that than chasing people.

There's a complete 10 gens challenge. Alot of people are probably trying to rush through that.

They're a mixed bag. I dislike the get 5 silver chaser emblem one and ones like that. Mainly because it seems silly to have to spend 5 games on it.

A lot of people say old ruin kept boosted players out of red ranks but that's not true, im a rank 2 survivor who can't hit great skillchecks and im just ok in chases, new ruin has made it a bit easier but I was red ranks before the change, the real issue is just that the ranking system is garbage

Hahaha also if I die, I would not mind. Sometimes killers just leave me and that makes me feel bad. I knowingly run no mither to encourage killers about chasing me and making easier to catch me for them. Also no mither improving my game. After I take off no mither, I feel myself like I have 2 lives hahaha :)))

Sorry to say it but I was playing and I saw lots of survivors at rank-3. They were just doing gens and hiding. But if you ask how they were in chases, horrible. They took hit and then directly dropped the pallet against huntress. I mean they play like green ranks :/

Well it is not that they do not wanna do chases, it is just boosted garbage that can not loop. Thus they do the only thing they do know to do which is hold m1.

Getting chased is not required. I think survivors should play stealth until discovered. Then, they should run, juke, loop, whatever to avoid the hook and delay the killer. Deliberately drawing the killer's attention can backfire and can lose the game for your team. Sure, getting chased can be fun and certainly is more fun for the killer than not finding anyone, but I don't think it is the wisest strategy. Go stealth. U will end up getting chased eventually and that should be good enough.

To those who are saying nothing has changed post-ruin nerf if you never used ruin in the first place, I would disagree, I think quite a bit has changed.
I see way more survivors running prove thyself now that old ruin is gone.
(although not directly related to ruin) survivors have started running unbreakable way more. Although this was always the direct counter to the DS -> Slug gameplay that new DS created, it seemingly became way more prevalent after the ruin nerf, I would guess this is because the ruin nerf led to more slugging overall and not just to counter DS, but at the same time it may just be because survivors, as a group (as opposed to just a few ahead of the curve players), started to realise that the chance of being slugged was higher since DS changed.
I seem to see a lot more green+ toolboxes in my games too, but its possible I just never paid attention before the ruin nerf.
I wouldn't be surprised if resilience also became more popular, although I think this is more to do with several streamers highlighting it after the ruin nerf and not directly because ruin was nerfed.
I don't think it would be much of a stretch to say that survivors may also get a kick out of doing gens faster now that they know theres a 100% chance of no ruin (old ruin), and that this has led to some slightly different in-game behaviour, although it would be hard to quantify.
