Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Potential DS Nerf

Okay, I know you're here because you're mad already, but hear me out:

How about you get the 60 second timer, all is the same, but if the killer hooks somebody within your timer, it automatically deactivates. That way it does not punish killers for downing and hooking people "too fast" and keeps survivors from being essentially indestructible and cocky, but still is there to help solve a legitimate tunneling issue.

I'm sure someone else has already brought this up but seems easy enough. 😅

EDIT: @avilmask made a good point, it stays active if you're in a dying state, that way the killer can't slug you real quick and get the person just to deactivate your DS but you're also not able to do anything.

While the idea is not bad in theory, what if the killer semi camps? Example: A survivor comes for the rescue, the unhook.

The unhooked survivor gets downed instandly because no borrowed time.

The killer proceeds to go after the unhooking survivor and downs them quickly, then hooks them.

Then comes back for the originally hooked survivor still slugged on the floor and hooks them

I would still say that was preeetty tunnely of the killer.

I think Otz (no im not some fanboy) had a good idea in that when you have DS you are just not allowed to do ANYTHING other then being healed, healing yourself or moving.

It just should not be this shield that you can abuse to just do gens etc while you sitll have it.

Next to that it should also be turned off when entering the exit door area to prevent the killers lack of power in that situation.

Nope. If anything it needs a buff. It’s taking up a Perk Slot and has such a tiny window of opportunity in terms of Skill check width and 60 seconds tops at tier 3? Can’t even get a second use out of it? It’s a 5 second stun and you can easily lose that 5 seconds via pallets and anything else In this game. If anything BUFF it. Don’t get mad because you’re hook camping and someone’s trying to get away from you. You’re sounding a little entitled to getting kills when you shouldn’t

Killers that are able to insta-down or force survivors to stay injured will be able to make use of this to negate DS by proxy camping and downing the hook-saver first.

There's so much survivor in that comment I don't even wanna respond. And I'm a survivor main lmao. But I learn to survive without relying on DS, so..

Also, just because you decide to use a perk that's specific doesn't mean it needs buffed to be used in any situation no matter what. I run calm spirit but I dont get to use it all the time and I go into matches knowing I might not get any use from it at all, but that's my choice. So of you choose to use DS, just know you might not get to use it?

I think DS is fine where it is.

The only nerf needed and SHOULD BE is towards EGC. Once all the gens are done and gates are 90-99%

It should either Deactivate automatically or Making the timer shorter to 15/20/25 seconds.

If you go down immediately after unhook and they fully commit to somebody else that isn't a guaranteed quick down. And in that time you should be getting picked up by another teammate.

DS was already nerfed back in the times, and is in a good spot now.

There’s just to many variables PERKs, MAP, and HOOKs.

    here:

Survivors goes to save hook survivor from camper

unhooker takes the bait hit, pulls the survivors off, takes the second hit goes down.

no BT, killer STBFL killer chases unhooked survivor. unhooked goes down no pallets anywhere.

other teammates 1 could possible be dead already or crouching around the map with the other survivors is on a gen. JUST TO MANY SCENARIOS.

killer goes back hook the unhooker DS DEACTIVATED. killer goes back and pick up the unhooked.

It just wouldn’t work this DS actually befits the killer more than the survivor.

Yeah, in my mind it's one of possible changes to DS, but there should be one condition: it should deactivate UNLESS you're in a dying state.

seriously.. my name is just a joke as someone once called me toxic meg because i looped him. it's just a name don't take it so seriously. i actually play killer and survivor equally and am red rank on both sides. so i think i know what i'm talking about and i think DS is fine as it is now.

I wouldnt bother. They dont seem interested in a discussion. Merely yelling "survivor main" at those of us that dont tunnel/camp so we dont have an issue with survivors wasting a perk slot lol

  • Oi I was also making a joke but sarcasm doesn't go through the internet

There I've updated it thanks to another commenter. They said it shouldn't deactivate if you're slugged. That way the killer can't cheese it and you're not able to do stupid, cocky things just because you've got DS.
