My issue with the Mr Puddles skin (Elephant Clown)
I love this cosmetic and its funny as ######### with the nose and ears flapping around. But my problem is that, should there really be skins for Killers that are "funny" and redicioulas? I personally think in a game like Dbd those skins doesnt make sense and should not be in the game, thats just my opinion, what about your thoughts?
Should we get more funny skins for killers and does it even fit or not?

How dare you come after Mr Puddles? To arms, brothers! Seize this traitor!

At this stage of the game, no one really feel scare or intimidated by killer anymore, so why not?
25 -
I think that in the case of him being a literal clown, (that's largely based off of John Wayne Gacy), it might not be out of character to have a ridiculous costume or two, to maybe give kids a false sense of security.
34 -
In answer to your question, though, I'm personally fine with "fun" skins, as long as they're lore-friendly. The whole point of the evil clown archetype is the juxtaposition between comic and horrifying, and I think Mr Puddles fits into that really well.
38 -
Clowns are already supposed to be "fun" though but we are all used to horror clowns. There was also a horror movie called The Banana Splits that had similar costumes to Mr Puddles. I don't think it is out of place for a horror clown to wear a furry animal Costume.
3 -
Said this in a few other threads, but I’ll say it again. It gives me Banana Split vibes, and that’s a good thing.
3 -
Tra la la, tra la la la
Tra la la, tra la la la
One banana two banana three banana four
All bananas make a split so do many more
Good luck getting that out of your head now. You're welcome. 😀

The killer is a clown so the outfit okay, clowns are supposed to be in funny outfits. Should other killers have funny outfits? I don't think the devs should go out if their way to make outfits for other killers that are silly but if it fits then yeah, it is okay. Take the Myers hospital outfit, it actually looks a bit silly but it fits in with some of the Halloween films so it is okay.

If it were up to me survivors would have swimwear clothing and killers would have more meme outfits.
Why haven't I been hired yet?
Mr. Puddles would hire me.
2 -
I might just buy clown to sing this whenever I do KYF or play normally, I appreciate you. 😂

Would this game be a seriously competitive horror game, then Mr. Puddles wouldn't fit in.
But with how this game is, Mr. Puddles is a great fit. We should get more outfits like this.

I don't mind if DbD will get some more "comedic Horror" elements like the Ashy Slashy puppet hand or Mr. Puddles. We don't have much of it and at this point it actually quite fits into the style of the game.

"Are funny skins good when this is a horror game?"
*looks at phantom of the opera wraith, cabbage hag, ashy slashy, santa clown, school girl spirit, dwelf, etc.
We already passed the point of no return.
And funny skins are great. Just look at league of legends, one of the most competitive games out there, it has silly skins everywhere, and people love it.
Also, mr. Puddles was created by the comunity and voted for in a contest

To be fair, League is not and has never pretended to be anything close to horror, so they can afford to go all-out with the meme skins in a way that DBD can't necessarily without affecting the atmosphere of the game dramatically.

They look goofy but they will seriously kill you.

*Looks at tofu mode in RE2 and the many, many costumes for pretty much all the titles.
I think it's fine.
And league was an example of a competitive game doing it, not horror. Because someone above mentioned competitive being a problrm for this type of skins.
The game is horror(kinda), but they don't have to horror it up 100% of the time, it will get boring. Or do you think people use dwelf for it's very serious horror themes? Or ashy slashy? Or pacient myers? Or santa clown?
0 -
No, I love Dwelf. I said earlier on in the thread that I don't have a problem with these kind of fun skins in DBD. I'm not trying to argue with you or say that your point is invalid, I was just pointing out for charity's sake that League isn't an entirely fair comparison when talking about whether "fun" skins are a good thing for DBD or not, because the two games are so different in their atmosphere and premise.

YES PLEASE!!! With the Big top in the Forest as a map?!?!
I went to the Killer Klownz maze at Universal last year and they slayed it! It was one of my favourites, back in the 80s!

His skin is lore based
He could have been a mascot in his life time
0 -
Sure why not, we can have skins like they do on fortnite, they may even give the survs weapons next >.>

I'd love to see more funny skins!
They add more variety to the game and I think it would be good to have more things in this game that spread joy and one can laugh about.
The only scary thing these days is to see 4 toolboxes in the lobby as killer or hearing one gen pop after another. The days DbD was a horror game for survivors have been gone long ago. So I don't see any problem with adding funny things to it.
2 -
lets start off by giving the devs a hand!
2 -
It is ok for Clown. It would be not ok at all if they would have given the Skin to Trapper, however, given the fact that the Clown falls in this comedic area by simply being a Clown, I think it is alright.
I am more disappointed of that Switch-Trapper-Skin and the Recolor we got on other Platforms than the Clown Skin.

Even sexier than shirtless Myers.

lol! it's all in the pose

I honestly feel like considering his character being a clown, it does fit just fine, but yes, I do think it's okay for killers to have fun skins to be honest. I don't mind it too much if there are any "funny" touches. One of my contest favorites was the maid Trapper that someone created. I would have given everything to have that one in the game.
Judge me all you want! But I can see why a lot of people wouldn't like fun skins on killers, as it can be considered negative or a "joke." Just I personally wouldn't mind it.
4 -
Wait...
We had a maid trapper in the contest?
1 -
Yes. I will see if I can find the drawing again, but someone did enter a maid Trapper for the skin contest.
0 -
I must turn this into a Maid Trapper if you find it
2 -
I thought it was a Silent Hill reference. Weren't there bloody mascots in that game?
0 -
OK I found it. https://i.imgur.com/Y7XiD4J.jpg It was done by @GYARO

We had a contest design and the Clown skin was one of the contest winners. The other was a skin for Feng Min.
0 -
I agree, while it fits clown because of his theme, I wouldn't be excited to see silly skins for other killers.
0 -
I know that. But people often pay homage in their work like those guys in trenchcoat with big swords are usually anime fans. DBD is one big homage to horror genre and SH is a big influence.

I like it, I love it, I want some more of it. I like the silly skins. It makes the game more fun and interesting.
I remember the first time I saw the clown in game with the elephant head... I thought, what? I was shocked. Also the first time seeing Michael in his hospital gown and underwear.

I think funny skins are really cool and the contrast makes an interesting combination. However I do have to say I don't get why people like Mr. Puddles; to me he looks very unoriginal and predictable. I was super disappointed when they announced it as the winner, especially considering how cool the winner Feng Min cosmetic is.

You not see all the blood around his mouth from all the children he eats? Menacing AF!
0 -
Just imagine a serial killer coming after you in that suit in some amusement park, you would be terrified.
2 -
Best theme song for a movie ever!
1 -
Survivors aren't the only ones who have the right to ridiculous costumes!
And honestly, it fits the Clown persona perfectly. Not sure I'd see Trapper or Myers using such an outfit.

I think it really depends on the skin compared to the character. This skin is for the clown, so it fits his character. If they made more fun skins, as long as they fit the character relatively well, or were based on some sort of event I don't have a problem with it. If they gave the Mr. Puddles skin to like The Hag or something, I would be very confused, but I don't personally have a problem with fun skins.

The thought of a stinky alcoholic in a dirty pink elephant costume with his ass hanging out while he chases me with a straight razor and toxic poison is pretty ######### scary.
0 -
I only like it on clown and that's it. I'd probably quit playing this game if they took the PUBG route and put a bunch of ridiculous cosmetics.
0 -
On the flip side of what you think my buddy thinks the puddles skin is terrifying and creepy.
0 -
Clown is okay because it makes sense. Get Elf Dwight the ######### outta here though. Talk about breaking immersion.
Edit: Not sure why the curse word is showing, did they change that?
