So, if I basically have McDonalds internet
Even with an Ethernet cable
I'm just gonna be gettin penalties?
It's spotty, some days it will be fine, sometimes it's about half and half, and then there are those days... it's like rolling a D20, you never know what will happen
And yes, it's the best I can do. :(

If you're honestly getting disconnections with that much frequency, it might be a bit of your responsibility to get a better connection before playing multiplayer games with other that have a heavy need for you not to disconnect on them.
40 -
Yes.
I know it sucks, but it's really not fair on the other Survivors if your internet frequently drops, even more so if you're the Killer where the match ends entirely.
It's nothing personal, but that's how it be.
28 -
It's also not fair for the killer. Survivors can recover, and still pip. If someone DC's at red ranks...the chances of that killer pipping are almost none.
4 -
Well that too, but I didn't mention the Killer because they are impacted far less then the teammates of the DCer.
Still a ######### situation either way.
1 -
I would disagree. They are impacted equally. Just in different ways.
5 -
Ah
Well, feels bad man.
0 -
The only dcs that should have penalties are ones where someone actually hits the "Leave" button.
2 -
Then there would be no purpose of having a penalty at all if voiding it is that easy.
19 -
You're right, we shouldn't have disconnection penalties because someone has terrible internet :^)
Let's punish everyone because of something that's your fault. Well, not entirely your fault but I think you get the point
2 -
What is the point now with the way people are disconnecting unintentionally?
0 -
Maybe its just me but if I knew my internet is bad I wouldnt go ahead and ruin peoples games.
7 -
Get a part time job.
God internet can go for up to $50 a month depending on your area.
That's easily affordable in just 20 hours or work per week. (Plus you'll have money for yourself).
1 -
Not sure what you think I am doing...
But k
5 -
The thing is...
it's both good and bad
Depends on the game, depends on the time of day, depends if it just wants to work or not.
Couldn't tell ya man.
Hell, they could have a rejoin period if that's possible at all. For example, Dota 2 has a system where you get a 5 minute (I think it's 5, it's been a while) period, where if you rejoin you won't get penalized for it. When you get back into the menu, you can sit there if you want, reconnect, or completely disconnect. It is quite nice.
Generally I don't have a big issue with Dota's servers in particular, but there are the spots here and there, but that 5 minutes has saved me a few times.

If you use McDonalds internet, you should get a free Grimace skin for Clown.
5 -
I like this
2 -
Yes we should have.
I'm going to be honest with you, if your internet is that bad you shouldn't be playing online.
For god's sake is 2020 decent internet is everywhere.
4 -
"Depending on your area" yes. I pay $80 for 25 down and 3 up. That's the fastest available from one of the only two providers in the area, believe it or not. It's super stable though. The thing is,the further from downtown you get,the price stays the same but the speed and quality goes down.
So I have a friend paying the $80 for 10 down and 1 up,that DCs here and there....and then another friend that pays the same price and can only pull 3-5 down and not even 1 up. Literally unplayable most of the time, even with Ethernet. The only other provider is way faster, but charges insane prices, among other issues.
So not everyone has access I suppose. I'm sure some have the best they can get. I'm not saying I disagree with anyone else...if you are going to DC every other match, maybe you shouldn't play, but it'd be nice if everyone had the same access to the good stuff.

I want a Hamburgler costume for Dwight.

I feel for you. I think the penalties are a bit much, knowing that some people get disconnected and it's not their fault. It's just a game after all and I don't see why some people get so worked up over the dc's. It's a slight bummer, but it happens. There are worse things that happen in life than that.
2 -
If you basically have mcdonalds internet, then online multiplayer games are not for you. It sucks but it's the reality.
7 -
Hello,
do you has an option to buy Burger King Internet ? and if this not work then try Kentucky Fried chicken Internet ?
siriously: feels bad man. It sucks buts the reality
3 -
Actually it really depends on the area you live in which determines how good the internet is
A number of years ago it was impossible to get good internet where I lived (just off from a big city) wholey because of the wires/cables and modern stuff wasn't in place.
If the infrastructure isn't in place for reliable internet then it's impossible to play without problems unless you move home or something. It's a frustrating issue many people have and money can't really solve.
Getting a job and buying good internet doesn't solve anything especially if as this person says, he already has a job which pays for the internet he receives.
I think the best thing to do is complain to your internet supplier about how unreliable and unstable your connection is. Mention that you signed up for functional internet yet it sometimes ends up being unusable.
It might take them a while to fix the issue due to lots of people having the same issue but it's worth a try.

But how can the system tell between bad internet and someone yanking an ethernet cord and calling it bad net?
0 -
Have you thought about taking up Scrabble?
0 -
It may sound callous but...
If your internet connection is bad enough you should get the boot. I've seen Dwights and Onis phase walk across maps due to poor internet.
If I'm killer and your connection is trash I will not let you get off that hook. If someone else is killer I will stand in front of a hook and AFK. It ruins the game for everyone.
0 -
Yeah.............bad internet and playing online games, very much going to work, i know it's difficult, as well you want to play and can't but it is how it is.
1 -
Nah cause you still have people who NAT TYPE dc those people need to be punished as well just cause ######### don’t get there way doesn’t mean we kiss their asses and give them what they want. If you have ######### internet and get punished for it good. Chances are those people are underaged and shouldn’t even be playing a rated m game anyway. If you don’t wanna be punished git gud Internet plain and simple.
0 -
it took too long for this time out system to be implemented and hopefully it's permanent, from my experience a good 80% of dc's I've seen are from salty players
3 -
Ye you should get punished since you are ruining others expiriance too. Either play singleplay games till you get good net or get punished. Cz of you selfishness others are not obligated to suffer.
1 -
well since everyone has pretty much answered your question I instead will send you this adorable video of a basket of puppies! Enjoy!
4 -
This!!! People who play on a connection that DCs that often are selfish. Sorry OP but if your computer or internet are not up to par then it’s probably best you play single player games or multiplayer turned based games as those usually have a time bank for DC so it doesn’t affect the others or yourself really
1 -
You do know this is a worldwide game right? Don't know where you are but some people dont live in a place where internet choices are offered. I myself am not in a third world country by any means but am still stuck with the only one isp that is available where I live...

The entitlement is strong in this whole thread... Holy #########
2 -
People who love in areas without good intentions shouldn’t be playing multiplayer online games
0 -
Did you read what I said.
"Depending on where you live."
I made an example using US money, because America is a leading power giant. the price ranges in good areas are about the same if you convert it to let's say quid.
0 -
Yes this actually works. ISPs are constantly updating their hardware and software but are very reluctant in giving it out. You just gotta keep pestering them for it to actually give you the good quality stuff because it's what you're paying for.
1 -
I disagree
0 -
Guess i'll stick to Dota and RL then
Much more reliable server connections.
Thanks ya'll
Hit me up if they get better servers, would love to play more.
0 -
Luckily the developers of most games, this one included for now, agree with me.
0 -
Yeah tough luck. Seems you only care about your experience and not that of the other players in your matches. Well as one of the other players, I'd rather rely on the penalty to keep those with bad connections away
0 -
I would say it's all my fault
but i'd say it's about 50/50
