Does the DC penalty account for issues on BHVR's side?

I'm not sure but the reason I ask is because two games in a row I have received a leaver penalty despite making it through exit gates. One game I was slugged, fell through, and in post game chat it automatically gave the @chatclosed message. I chalked it up as normal as it does happen a bit but then I was hit with a leave buster timer. I figured I just d/c'd temporarily at the end of match no biggie.

Then the next game I escaped (killer was AFK) and even made it out with a toolbox and I was still hit with the leave buster. It's a bit concerning, I know comcast isn't the best (but it's that or ATT), and I need to know whether or not I should keep playing. Is it because I might have a hiccup here or there that counts as leaving? If so I'd rather just quit playing all together before I put more time into the game.

Since then I've been okay. Most just people disconnecting in loading screens more than usual but no actually playing the game and being hit with a penalty. Is anyone else having this issue and if so is there a way to fix it?

    The fix is to bring back the old system based on percentage of games played instead of DC's in a 24 hour period. I can't tell you just to quit because BHVR reverses and changes their minds so they might come to their senses. You could quit and periodically check to see if they fixed it yet. You might just forget about the game completely though. I don't know that it's your internet. My internet is fine, its the game itself that glitches, frequently crashing when trying to load post game screen for example. It hurts no one but me, and yet I'm penalized.

    Not sure how to edit my OP but I just got kicked again sadly. My net is fine, discord is fine, the stream was fine. I was actively monitoring my network and there were no drops. This is definitely on BHVRs side. I got disconnected as soon as I finished the final generator. IDK what's happening but this is nuts. I won't play if it means I'm penalized for things out of my control. Maybe in a week or 2 things will get better maybe not. It just sucks because I only got the game 2 months ago and I was SO excited for my first rift and I enjoyed the chinese new year event as well and now I'm just disgusted.
