It's not even worth playing killer anymore.
I really just wanna give up with this mess of a game. The gen speeds are so ridiculous that every damn match I have played so far just results in a 4 man escape in the first 5-6 minutes. No amount of slugging (especially since it was nerfed) or pressure can stop it. I will get quick downs, does it matter? nope. Game over. I don't even get to play and cannot even counter it. No amount of slugging or pressure can stop it. I'd rather just take the MM ban than play another match where I get to lose for basically free.

The amount of stress that comes with playing killer just for a MINOR chance at maybe one or two kills.... Why bother?
On the opposite end, survivor is so boring and easy to play that you can just meme your way to victory without breaking a sweat. Just hold M1 on a gen and your already 1/5th of the way to winning the match.

Upload a video and I can give you some tips.

This might help you.

It's worth it, just got to keep playing and practicing and you'll get there. :)

I will agree gens go too fast but you can do things to help yourself win. Bring noed, use map offerings and play stronger killers.
I don't like the changes even as a survivor main but as killer at rank 1 I'm not struggling such as I expected. You need to end chases quick while also being smart about when to commit to chases or leave them. Also getting rid of a player early is very important to relive the pressure.

I agree, gens sometimes fly really quickly. This is why I bring gen-protecting perks, sometimes that doesn´t help too much though. I find the Corrupt Interention and POP combo from Otz works really well, I also throw in Thrilling Tremors and BBQ for tracking and bloodpoints. Ghostface main btw.

Maybe killer just isnt for you, plenty killers out there doing just fine even with the noed change. Im dieing to them.

Try freddy he’s easy to use and has slow down

First 3 gens are to be expected. You technically have 4 left at that point and a large portion of the map will be left untouched other than fleeing survivors.
It's where you can't effectively zone with a 3 gen strategy is where it falls apart.

Survivor main here. I agree killer side was very frustrating for me until I spent a day meme gaming as killer and now I've learned to not care about winning the current match. I go in with my own agenda. Like drift king billy no addons, or overdoing moonwalking, or rotating constantly. Ironically by learning wacky playstyles I'm improving faster than I did playing normally. By being greedy for the immediate win, you don't explore enough, which means you don't learn enough for the long-term.
Just an observation. My heart goes out to the killer mains out there. I know how frustrating it can be. Somehow getting hit through dead hard and face camped isn't as frustrating as playing killer.

It really isn't that bad... But it really depends on what killer you're using. I main Huntress and Hillbilly, and regularly get 2-4k games. Last night, I even got a 4k using Clown, as well as Wraith.
The big thing is to focus on a 3 gen strat if you're using a low mobility killer.
But what killer are you using, what perks are you using, and how many hours as killer do you have?
It sounds to me like you're fairly new to playing killer. You need to adapt to the game, and not expect it to adapt to you. I've seen so many of these complaint threads since Ruin was nerfed. But in reality, Ruin was never a necessity. It helped with slowing down the game, sometimes, but that's it. In all honesty, CI and Whispers are so much more powerful than Ruin ever was.

I appreciate the sympathy, but you sir have more sympathy than I do, and I'm a killer main. It just seems to me that the majority of players that use forums, just want to complain until something or another gets nerfed or buffed, instead of practicing, persevering, and adapting.
People want this instant gratification of winning right away. I didn't start reliably "winning" as killer til I hit 500 hours... And at 1400 now, and can still get wrecked by a good team.
Really, killer is for those who WANT the challenge. If people can't handle stress, they shouldn't play killer. Lol

I guess this is good against solo potatoes?

I actually had the opposite experience yesterday, guess what? Me, a Rank 1 killer got sent back to rank 13! WHAT?! Wanna know how survivors are doing against me? NOT EVEN 2 GENS DONE! Damn... I let 1 escape every game just to be nice...
I used this builds in case you wondered:
P3 LVL 50 GF: BBQ + Ruin + Dying Light + Discordance. Addons: Green for stalk speed leaning from corners
P3 LVL50 Trapper: Agitation + Iron Grasp + Make your choice + CI. Addons: Darken traps and bring 1 or 2 extra
P3 LVL 50 Doctor: Huntress Lullaby + Ruin + Distressing + Hounted Grounds. Addons: Afflicted survivors get randomized localizated and counter clockwize skillchecks

lol yeah rank reset certainly takes the edge off.

I can't believe I got sent back from 1 to 13! It's really ultra unfair for survivors... But I just noticed that's a bug and the Devs posted an advertizing about it being taken care of, hgope it gets fixed soon.

just remember your playing the heel. your the bad guy in a horror movie. Keep in mind the killer rarely kills everyone. The game is designed around that.

Happened to me too, ended up going from 5 to 15 and the survivors definitely felt like real 14/15 survivors. Most games were 0 or 1 gen done and I let a few have hatch, but also took a few 4K just to double pip and move to correct ranks faster

Well could be worst right? I've been ' threatened to get DDosed because I killed someone with insta hatchets trying to go for the achievement. 😅

The one thing I totally agree with is that being a killer can be stressful. You are multi tasking on a constant basis, and you watch your time to complete your objectives shorten with every ping of a generator being completed.
It all boils down to whether or not you can handle that pressure. Some people thrive in it, some people can somewhat function, and some people can crumble underneath it. Honestly, it’s not for everybody.
Do I think this is the right way to approach the game right now? Absolutely not. We all have our own life pressures (family, school, work), the added stress of being the killer can be overwhelming. As has been said time and time again, the overall balance seriously needs to be looked at.
I personally enjoy the pressure of the game, but I will only play in short bursts. I have my own life issues with work and with my daughter on the verge of being born, so sometimes it can get a little too much.

I can't deal with your logic and common sense in this place /s
Were you around when REAL infinites were in the game at release?
I just ask because you aren't the average entitled killer I bump into in this place <3

True but look at the ease the killer has in these movies. The killer in the movies doesnt have to make clutch plays or deal with survivors being able to jump through windows like pro athletes. If these games were like movies how boring would it be if in Friday the 13th for example, the people fleeing jason were looping him in circles and smashing him with pallets while the others started laughing and t-bagging him as they hopped into a car. Last person jumps in last second and they call him a ######### and laughing as they leave. Pretty boring movie, amusing but certainly not a horror movie.

Not worth playing anymore
3 -
I always think this too. It reminds me more of Scooby doo cartoon than a horror movie, running the killer in circles in and out of the same doorway five times

Considering most survivors are not swf SEAL team 6, it's good in general.

That was 18 Feb 2018, cherry picker.
Lets look at his 5 Feb 2020 video.
As he say "I think gens are a bit too fast.. !" 😂

So what if it's old? This is a tips and tricks video, not an analysis or a suggestion.
He never said that gen speed is fine.
The thing is, this guy knows he can something about it since he is a good killer and most games aren't ultra hard. It's not like the killer is held back at the beginning of the game so the survivors can just start with a advantage.
Sadly, most killers are bad players who just want chill games of "hook, chase, 4k" routine and when that doesn't happen, they look for an echochamber to complain (which in particularly worse in OP's case since he made the same thread in the steam forums).

And most survivors are tbaggers at pallets and exit gates who just want to make fun of killer.
A lot of survivors are bad, too, so its ok to talk about 4k'ing them. It is easy, if survivors show off. You shouldnt be running at killer and inviting killer to chase you. After 3 generators are done, survivors who were not on hook are near immortal.
1 -
what? i play a lot more killer now because of the q times
0 -
gen speeds are also fine, they should nerf toolboxes (which i think they're working on already) other than that gens are fine
0 -
noed change?
0 -
The problem is that there is no hope in this current meta of even getting 1 kill.
I don't care about killing all 4, I just want to have a chance to actually play the game without it being over in 5 minutes or less.
But I am sure you will come back with some blanket statement about applying more pressure but never actually giving advice as to how.

I gave you help, what do you think that video i posted yesterday was?
At the end of the day, no matter how many buffs are given to killers, the devs will always balance them around playing sweaty, that's why you need to get better as soon as possible. Once you reach high-ranks, chill games will not be as regular as in low ranks.
0 -
First off, how good are you at killer?
1 -
I managed to learn soemthing from it even if it is old. Not to lunge at pallets but to walk up to them and M1 rather than lunge. I am also if the opinion to start eating pallets to get rid of them rather than respecting them at every one out of spite not to give points. I saw it as an you cant get me thing. But with so many pallets if i count it up how much time i am wasting sitting there waiting for them to drop them it adds up to 15 to 20 seconds i think.

For you ruin was nerfed, for me it was buffed to the level where for survs its IMPOSSIBLE to win the game as long as it stays up. Ruin used to be for killer "pick and forget" mechanic, while now it require you to play around it. With killers like demogorgon, freddy, billy, nurse, wraith, oni, every single killer with just a little mobility or gen controls can hold whole game as hostage for eternity. All you have to do is to walk around each gen and spend little time around the ones that have been repaired a little. You reverse it much faster than survs repair it. Rinse and repeat, you cant go wrong with it. Plus you get chance to get free hit on survs as they would rather try to repair that second longer and it might be enough to hit them.
But if you expect to just chase 1 surv around infinite loop while others repair gens then it doesnt work anymore. Chases are supposed to end fast, not after 10 minutes. And you have to remember that ruin now require some work from you. If it doesnt suit your style then leave it and pick up other perks like surge or pop the weasel (-25% gen? Nice one)
