Is playing fair possible?

Hey guys i played some huntress last night and because of the rank reset i tried to go easy on survivors wich means: no camping, no tunneling, no sluggin.

So the game speed irritated me in many games i played.

25 seconds to find survivor and two hatchets later hes down. refill hatchets, hook him and lets say it was a minute.

BBQ shows me 3 survivors working on different gens.

I pick one and as i arrived and kicked it before chasing the other one 2 gens pop.

I chase the guy and down him 20 seconds later.

the first guy gets rescued and healed as i hook the second guy.

BBQ shows me the 2 guys that healed, the last one hid behind a gen or locker.

I spot the rescuer and chase him. The just healed guy unhooks the other while i chase the third person. Gen 3 pops as i get him.

same play as before, one stack on BBQ missing and i see the survivor who popped the gen.

as before one goes for the unhook one hops on a gen as i down the last person. BBQ stacks are full 1 and a half gens left.

At the end i got 7 hooks while not missing a single hatchet.

It was on the autoheaven map with the house on it.

So these were rank 11 survivors. they were no red ranks before because there movement was really bad.

So i as a Red rank killer have to play sluggy at least to compensate for gen Speed if i play fair.

I had no slow down perks so thats a thing, but i played near to perfekt regarding hatchet throws and fast downing of survivors.

I really think if survivors are not able to dodge one attack they should not win.

After these games a went back to slugging because it is needed.

I know slugging is unfun for survivors, but what else should i do?

Slow killers on big maps have a hard time reaching the next gen.

It was mentioned in one of recent threads, where people broke down how a good nurse managed to 2k instead of 4k, that for a successful killer it's ESSENTIAL to use unfun strategies, by both survivor and killer players. "By not slugging you respect survivors too much".

If survivors are bad and you feel like playing "fair". (Whatever fair means at the time)

Slugging is fine if you slug the odd survivor. I think survivors mostly hate it when you intend to end the game by slugging. As in all 4 slugged before hook. Being slugged while you chase someone else isn't a big deal.

I think it is hard if you want to maintain high ranks continuously. You can stay in purple ranks no problem by playing fair. But maintaining red ranks requires constant pipping against some real good survivors. With current gen speeds it is very hard to not occasionally use some unfun tactics. And my in fact be necessary.

Pretty much this. Tactics like slugging and tunneling are mostly hated because so many people do it mindlessly. No rational survivor gets mad when it's done strategically.

Anything is possible if you believe in yourself.

Fair is set within the rules of the game. Not the mindset of the player. Everything that isn't bannable is fair.

Slugging is fine always. Even if I slug every survivor and let them bleed out, it's fine. Of course I'd rather have hook points because long-term slugging is boring, but if I did decide to do that, you saying it's not fine has no effect on it actually being fine. You tell killers to apply pressure. Slugging is the ULTIMATE pressure. Saying slugging of any magnitude is not fine is like me saying "looping isn't fine" or "repairing generators isn't fine".

I don't live by the Killer Rulebook written by Survivor Mains.

The only way you're winning without slugging is if the survivors are quite bad.

Play the way you like. Forget about the score and enjoy the game.

Slugging is a viable tactic in some scenarios. It also has a few counters (unbreakable etc). The only time I find it unfair is if you are going to slug all four and let them bleed out. Especially if it's a one shot killer. You're just being rude and wasting people's time.

I main Huntress and don't have much trouble "winning". What does it matter if they get one gen or even a few done quick? I've got 4ks on matches where they had 4 gens on,hell, even 5. Even when I thought I was completely outplayed and about to give up.

You can use your Hatchets to sorta push them around the map. Or if you're lucky it can end up with the last 3 gens super close and you can protect those. I personally only consider it a loss if it's a 4s though. I try to play fair unless I'm getting trolled. Like 4 people with flashlights, taking turns blocking the hook, all that.

If you want to win that bad,who cares? Them being salty doesn't effect you. You can't be reported for doing mechanics. I'm disabled, and so are some other players. Play how you need to,want to,or have to.
