Please can we NOT have unlock hatch quests anymore
All night I have been trying to do gens only to get barely enough done, 1 person dead, and 2 people escape through hatch while I'm mid chase with a killer.
It's stupid and toxic asf. I have seen games where people sit in a locker, form crows, and escape. Seriously whose bright idea was this?
But this think the best part is all the killers bringing Franklin's demise, knocking ######### out of our hands (go ahead idc about my ######### brown med kits I bring them for my team anyway) and then survivors just finding keys, refusing to do gens, and leaving.
And people have to do this twice. More killers are playing, oni, crack billy, and bubba than I've seen in my life. Plague is hot asf now because she can puke on you twice and make you broken.
I have had almost every killer tonight get pissed for me and yell at my so called teammates for just leaving after afking or not doing gens or not getting chased.
Please devs, I'm begging you, this hatch crap has to go. And while I understand you don't have to do it to complete a tome, you do have to if you'd like to know more about Jane's story or if you want to 100% everything.

I just don't understand. In a game where CO-OP'ing is the optimal way to win why make a quest that's extremely selfish. I wouldn't mind of my teammates attempted to tell me they had key, but they don't.

Most of the ones who flee together through the hatch are SWF who could care less for the randoms life. As long as they get out, who cares? I'll only resort to a hatch if I'm the last alive and I can't safe rescue a hooked survivor. If I ever do have a key or spot the hatch early, I'll always try to show the others in case the match goes to hell and they're the lone survivor.

Yeah not a fan of this challenge for the behavior it promotes. I'm waiting for the 5 DS strikes challenge and the hellstorm it creates.

Could we not have close hatch quests?
It's stupid and toxic. I have to basically let them win so I can find the hatch and be able to close it before they leave and the game ends. Gosh.
Seriously though, it's a mechanic in game, and they need challenges. What would you like them to do, have a "gather 3 survivors and teabag in the killer shack together" challenge?
They only have so much to work with.

Co-oping isnt the optimal way to win. Making sure someone else is their target and you arent, is the optimal way to win. Survival is key.

Ideally the challenges should be based around, hooks, escapes, safe rescues, totems broke, stuns, gens repaired, emblems, chase time, maybe hooks broke. That is it EGC hooks/rescues BS/RNG, Hatch escapes and basement challenges promote toxic behavior.
I'm worried that we will get as i said a DS challenge a Wiggle free challenge, a mori all 4 survivors challenge that will force both sides to play a way neither really wants to and everyone is miserable.

Exactly. Now if they want us to use skills, why not do like tome one and in order to reach the page you have to use a perk specific for that person's pages. And you can reuse perks. Change some numbers around. For example we could have had another poise challenge but instead use poised while injured 3 times.

I'm good with using specific perk challenges. They change up the meta and make things different. I even like the Great skill checks ones. They can do this without making them something that could be toxic towards the other players in the game.

Exactly. It was bad enough with the map and no mither quest. People were too afraid to do anything and it ultimately hurt the team. Look I'm all for questing but quests that involved escaping on top of something else tend to lead to people being less willing to work as a team. Healing two states in one game is fine and the head on quest was actually so enjoyable that I run that perk all the time now. But this escape through hatch basically translates to leave your team.

Or let your teammates die so you can leave by hatch or wait around after all 5 gens are done for the killer to close the hatch just to reopen it potentially in their face to rub it in. For now it is here and we need to do it but hopefully @Peanits can pass along the concerns and some of the ideas from the thread to improve future tomes.

@A_Nice_Nea_Karlsson see that is where the flaw is with some of these. You had to play a certain way to guarantee or increase your chances to complete the challenge. This is somewhat similar to the throw pallets during a chase. It ruins the match for almost everyone.

@A_Nice_Nea_Karlsson the 20 crows actually was easy burn a swamp map go to the boat leave and go back like 3 times. I don't mind challenges where you have to use a strategy but this like the no mither one or escape without being downed promote teammates to hide.

Pffffttt Franklin's Demise.
I bring a mori if I see a key. GLHF

I personally wouldn't even try to do this challenge cause it's simply not fun and by itself is very dumb. But since I have to complete this one in order to be able to do the 2 challenges for Jane...yeah...I have to complete this one.

With the way killers play at the moment you would think there was a camp 400 survivors and tunnel the ######### out of people 18,000 times challenges. That's OK though because it is a "legit strat". Ugh
2 -
Yeah, this was not a well thought out idea. Between that and all the escape after meeting x condition challenges this is a rough one.

So thats why i had two people just going to lookers all game? I was hoping they where just memeing

This and the EGC sacrifice challenges are the worst. They both should go.
Today, I was doing my daily and after I died, I went into spectator mode watching this Kate hopping in and out of a locker pausing briefly to gesture, while the other remaining survivor was being chased. She had a key, left behind, sole survivor (which I think is currently bugged, btw), urban and q&q. She got the hatch after it was closed and escaped with about 9k points, which tells me she essentially did nothing all trial, but wait for the others to die.
Btw, since we're here, quick tip to minimize franklin's and tunneling risks. If you have Steve, use him for this challenge. Due to the nature of his animation in the lobby, it's extremely difficult to notice that he's holding a key in his hand.

I fully agree with the matter. But this is not always the case. At least I managed to get all my team out except one through the trap door. I played normally working on generators and helping my teammates. However, I was threatened with being banned because with two missing generators, Bubba had hung the last survivor on the hook and started camp with the chainsaw. Being unable to do anything, being the survivor already in the second phase, i fled through the trap door. Soon after I got an email telling me that I would be reported and banned because I used the trap door leaving it there. I played normally aiming to complete the generators and to run my teammates either through the trap door or favoring the opening of the exit gates. Having run away with the key in a situation like this does not make me such an egoist to be reported

It's a nightmare as a survivor who just wants to play the game. I had four games yesterday where people just hid in the locker the entire time. Today I haven't had anyone go to a locker straight away, but they just aren't playing. They aren't doing gens at all. It's miserable.

I'm in the same boat - I wasn't even going to try but we need to to unlock other challenges. It's ruining the game, again, because everyone is playing differently just to get it done. Though maybe it's helping killers, so I guess I should go do those challenges.

See that is the point you didn't do anything wrong. now you will always get stupid messages from players threatening to get you banned for anything but why add to it? That match i'm sure upset 50% of the players in that match.

nothing is more satisfying than doing nothing the entire game and then outplaying the killer with left behind + key.

"Outplayed hur dur"
I just wish when a survivor opened a hatch they didn't instantly jump through and I'm a survivor main. Like let them use their key and get hatch closed on their no doing work arses.

I agree, these challenges need to go. The "do this thing and escape" is hard as hell for me since I'm a barely better than potato survivor and I only have six keys over four survivors that I can use to attempt the escape so since I probably won't manage it in those attempts I'll have grind like crazy in bloodwebs or have to brave the rng with ace in the hole or plunderers to try to get a key and escape. I only got the no mither one cause the clown went after the teabagging flashlighting Claudette in the match and let me pick my self up three times before the gate was open lol
1 -
Better not get in a game with me. I always carry a key. If my team are potatoes which is about 90% of the time, I just leave them to die on hooks so I can hatch. I don't feel bad at all doing it either.

I agree that the ones doing this are SWF and could care less about a random survivor as I was playing a match and noticed that 3 survivors were just being really altruistic and I was doing all the gens and had one left. So I noticed one survivor about to get his 3rd hook while the others were healing so I blocked the killer, took the hit, and led him to the opposite side of the map where I got downed and hooked. Now I can see all 3 working on gens and running from the killer until they fixed the gen. As the killer came back to check on me and run towards an exit I could see all 3 running around searching a chest and then leaving.....#########... 1 made a hap hazard attempt and ran towards me in the final few seconds and then turned around and left. They could have easily unhooked me especially after I saved them and got the killer to the other side of the map but could care less, lol. I don't understand why all survivors can't just communicate at this point?
