Where are the OP survivors?
I see killers on these forums all the time talking about this game being survivor sided, and I am not trying to argue that it is or it isn't. I simply want to know where the survivors are that make them feel this way. I can assure you they aren't the survivors I end up being paired with nearly every match
The majority of the time I end up being paired with survivors that:
- hook farm with killers and rarely attempt to do a generator
- just have to run and heal a slugged team mate even though the killer is standing right there
- do nothing but hide in lockers the whole game.
- basically do anything and everything stupid thing they can to make the game easier for the killer
What I wouldn't give to be paired with survivors that play like they have a brain in their head

That's why it's so frustrating. I worked hard to get just to this rank. I expected survivors would start playing more intelligently as my rank got better. That hasn't happened.

Make friends.
With lfg discord or party chat theres 100% no reason not to go in as a team.
And even if you dont agree on roles with sny builds like a boss raid like my squad does.
Simply relaying what each other is doing is enough to get a 3E every time. Saying a killer location or asking for a safe hook save or just telling them its gen safe since ur looping killer. It's crazy just how much the game tips.

And there you have it - why survivor is easier. Any potato can rank up. Not necessarily talking about you, but your team mates.
That being said, survivors do have an overwhelming advantage. Killers for the most part have to play super sweaty to get kills. Survivors usually don't like that, and complain.

OP survivors are a myth. You either do gens or you don't.
Someone can be the best runner and nail every tile, but if no gens are done it's worthless and now the map has no pallets.
Survivor is hold M1 to win.
Killer is press M1 to win.

And that's the part I don't get. Why do the majority of survivors seemingly not care at all about doing gens? It's unfathomable to me.

You just need to rank up dude, at ranks 9-1 you start getting survivors who stick to gens pretty consistently.
Maybe they are all swf? Idk, I have never played survivor on high ranks.

Things you have to play a lot of hours to see them. pretty much like a god tier Billy/nurse, Those survivors do gens in 3-5m while pallets are barely used. I wish you never met those on haddonfield/crotus prenn or rotten field you gonna have a bad time. Flickbilly don't scare them and mori won't stop them from winning.
The good thing is that they are very rare if all survivors were like that the dark times would be back. All i can assure is that there are not a myth they do exist but you got what... 1% chance to meet them.
It's why the current system (ranking) is bad because red ranks is mixed with good/bad survivors. A skill based matchmaking is what we need. So the game can have new players without being killed by a Esport-like skill player. Balance-wise devs will be able to balance things right without getting hillbilly OP thread for example.

Simply put:
Everyone is bad = killer wins
Everyone is decent = game feels somewhat balanced
Everyone is good = survivors win

i can't get out of green ranks because I only get paired with survivors that play without any concept of intelligence or strategy

Stick to gens, learn to loop, do not camp pallets and waste them. You do rank up even when you die.

I try to do most of that. I suck really bad at looping though. Great at stealth. I don't mean the hide all match stealth. I just tend to be able to avoid the killer more often than not.

Just get better at it, there are guides which explain "techs" that you can do like window juke and so on which will give you the basic stuff for it. Watch good streamers for a point of orientation, try to memorize the maps and where to run.

I feel yah. I was barely thinking that. I see alot of killers complaining about survivors and how they complain. But I mostly see them complain. Maybe it's just me. I only mostly get notified when theres a new killer forum posted. So maybe I'm just not seeing it. Have the killers became what survivors were? Meaning that they complain more. Again, maybe it's just me.
Also I want to make clear, i have nada against killer mains. I'm personally a filthy scummy survivor main, so I personally don't mind when y'all tunnel or whatever. Cuz I'm pretty toxic myself. It makes the game more fun

I played a match recently where I had a survivor on my shoulder got stunned by head on, then immediately stunned by pallet followed by another immediate head on stun then a down and a DS stun because I couldn't tell who I was hitting. Playing as Legion on Ormond rank 12. Managed to slug them all but one at exit but three escaped with one kill. These kind of squads exist and I face them fairly regularly on PC Midwest United States. Before this last rank reset I didn't have a match as killer without facing at least two red ranks while I was still rank 10. But with the exception of strong Loopers who are just that skilled there's no such thing as a single OP survivor.

Unhooks. Get Borrowed Time and focus on unhooks. You are now the only person allowed to unhook people in every game for the rest of your life.
Be on a gen, going for that unhook or in a chase. Enjoy Rank 1.

Red Ranks are where the strong survivors are, and I say that as a red rank survivor and red rank killer.

People complain about survivor sided-ness in reference to perks, not the survivors themselves.
You can't have OP survivors, but you can have OP killers. Referring to a killer as OP would reference the killers ability, not their perks..
People complain about survivor sided-ness because from some of the set ups, it can be perceived that many of the things available to survs is greater than that of the killer (e.g. availability of useful 'second chance' perks..)
If survivors had their own specific ability or they introduced a survivor whose perks were all so good you could use them in every build, a survivor could be OP.
However, with the recent update this may die down a bit, as the recent reworks are helping recentre the balance of the game..

I do it all. Gens, totems, chest, saves, heals. I'm not very good at jukes and loops, so I tend to play stealthy.

If Survivors lost, it is because they were not Red Rank.
BUT: Survivor is way too easy to rank up, so most Red Ranks are Potatoes.
So Red Rank Survivors are both OP and Potatoes. Schroedingers Survivors, basically.

Yeah, they are rare but they exist. And they will show you all the power survivors can have. Massive difference between 4 random and a coordinated swf group. Hell, even 4 experienced and strong solos are nowhere near as deadly as 4 experienced and strong players in swf on coms. This is next level hellfire.
If I would duplicate myself enough times to make a 4 men swf group we would SLAUGHTER killers left and right. The game would be over before it even began. Looping for 2 minutes, 1 pallet used, 3 gens done. After 4 minutes we all escape.

It's worth pointing out that the advertising and trajectory of this game has been killer sided for sometime. Prior to the forums people would post on DBD reddit, and it was a pitiful place to raise anything survivor sided.
The point being that these OP survivors exist in coordinated swf groups, that's it. It's certainly not in solo survivor play. But you cant complain about OP survivors when you admit those points and get owned as a killer.
So you stick to the OP salty survivor narrative and create a group think mentality.
This forum GROSSLY over estimates the OP survivor phenomena.

its not about the survivors its about how the game was made.
the math between doing gens and chases dont add up for how little time it takes to repair generators. so when survivors also run perks that extends that chase with dead hard or even decisive strike or else, it just makes the math even more less in favor of the killer.
its not one survivor thats OP, its the game thats rigged wrong.

Pop 2 gens, stunn killer with 2 or 3 pallets, make 1 or 2 safe saves, congratulation yiu pipped even if you die (just dont let go in second stage) youll be in red rank inna few days (i know cuz is how i do it)

Just hang in there and do not be afraid there is no reason for it. Everybody started at some point, when you do encounter specific problems just ask for help and i am sure most people will help you out.

This is why. Survivors at those ranks are complete potatoes that don't know what they're doing. When you get to rank 1 you start seeing a lot more of the better players.

Did I say that's what people are talking about? Nope. I even stated in my first paragraph that I wasn't actually debating whether or not the game was survivor sided. I was simply wondering when I actually start seeing those survivors because I am not seeing them now.

Red rank solo teams are generally just as potato as purple/green ranks due to how easy it is to rank up. I'm a complete potato and I manage to hit rank 3. Survivors don't become OP until you get sweaty rank 1 SWF squads that actually want to win. So they decide to win and there is nothing the killer can do about it if they aren't a 5 thousand hour Nurse main. That's the difference and you know it.

Solo que doesn't show the full potential of survivors like SWF do, Plus the god survivors are always at rank 1 so you don't have too deal with them most of the time. watch any DBD youtuber trying too deal with a fully coordinated team and you'll see why the game is super survivor sided.

That's funny, because I get them all the time on PS4, and I'm a rank 12 now... Course MM doesn't help. Most the time I'm thrown in w players ranging from level 1-7, and I'm a f'n rank 12!

You'll still see them even in red ranks. 90% of the time I see a red rank that acts like a baby and still runs self care.
