Level 3 is boring, annoying and lazy.

So the tome challenges are usually something i enjoy for multiple reasons, it gives you something to aim too, makes you play with different perks,survivors and killers as well as makes you see different killers, survivors and perks. but level 3 is bland and annoying, everything is about escaping instead of personal challenges. you have to escape 14times in this one tome alone, you have taken any action you can an added "and escape" its lazy and boring. there are 2 survivors which means 6 teachable perks how about including those more and them being the focus? even the stun one killer as jane and escape should of been a head-on stun. such a waste of a level 3, god forbid those poor souls who are more casual with the game needing to escape 14 games, it just makes people play selfish through hatches or open gates and leave without taking hits or even trying to help and thats honestly not the play you should encourage. honestly unneeded stress trying to carry people through the match due to no one wanting to do gens and everyone hiding to try get hatch, not to mention the damn 200ms servers on xbox even though you even stated in Q&A that at 150ms the game wouldnt work as intended such as deadhard and latency... so yeah certainly wont be playing anymore till thats fixed.

    I know right its so annoying, it feels like when i get a tome to escape, i get tunneled and destroyed but when its a normal game I escape fml hahah

    i feel you there, luckily iv finished it but i honestly didnt enjoy any of the survivor challenges. like i play solo, its always the way i do but this just screams to do SWF, escaping is a team effort not a solo one so i dont get why they made a whole level about it. id personally prefer challenges linked to their perks. hell id even be okay with wacky ones like while using no mither heal two health states with solidarity in one match and just call it "im confused" (because the perks obviously dont go together). but escaping 14, how bland and lazy.

    I really liked the first two and appreciated the improvements they made. I beat those in 2-3 days. It's been over a week now and I haven't even bothered to complete the first challenge in level 3. Level 3 is boring, time consuming and just a slog.

    You think this is bad? Remember the nightmare that was Dark Sense challenge from the last tome? It will be worse when the Dwight tome happens...and you have to complete 4 generators with prove thyself/leader in one trial.

    you say that but often i find myself doing 3-4gens, im not sure what people are doing in half my matches haha but still id rather 1 annoying challenge than the same challenge over and over

    I don't honestly think they care. Every update is introducing more and more bugs, while they ignore most of the gamebreaking things. They cannot fix things like Hitboxes because of the servers. Better servers = better hit boxes. But they won't pony up. So honestly they should go back to P2P. DBD isn't even fun to play anymore unless you're in a SWF OR just memeing. The PTB is and always will be a joke. No good testing will ever come from the PTB. What part of "Testing" makes you level up the new character(s) to try out things and report bugs? Its just plain dumb. So many good players and streamers have moved on to other games and quit DBD. You literally couldn't pay me to do anymore Tomes/Rifts. The lore is poorly written and locked behind a bunch of annoying challenges that aren't fun, after i've already put in more than enough grind into this game already.

    They just want money. They don't really care about the vet or new player experience. I mean hell, they had to implement a DC punishment because no body wants to stay in their broken game when people start being sweaty tryhards(this goes for both sides). Look at how many times MisBHVR has had to put DBD on sale in 2019. IIRC they actually hold the record over most Indie Devs. Including free weekends.

    I am an outstanding gen jockey when given the chance by somebody who can run the killer ragged. In 1600 hours i have done 4 gens maybe 5 times. Maybe. If they do do 4 gens that is insane. This was with 3 swf who just wanted to abuse the killer.

    Yeah they're pretty boring and tedious. I miss the creativity of the previous tome. The goal of playing the game is already to escape or hook survivors - the archives aren't introducing any new challenges atm.

    I think I know what they were going for- they didn't want someone to get their stun, or protection hit, or whatever and then feel like "Well, I got my challenge done, that's a win for me regardless of how this turns out." They wanted people to be actively trying to win each game in addition to trying to do their challenges, so they slapped on "and escape." But really, they should've slapped on "and escape through the exit gates" since the hatch promotes letting your teammates die.

    Sure, but on average, escaping is already a difficult task for survivors. This makes the challenges for survivor a lot harder than those for killer. They should have added on "and earn 2 or more Gold/Iridescent emblems" instead, for example.
