Did I understood it correctly?

So first we lost ruin so that survivors have it easier which pretty much results in almost every game being very short.

Now devs decided that best way to fix it is to let survivors always keep their item(it's not like every survivor has hundreds of copies of the same one after all), change every toolbox into BNP and bring back sabo meta so that killer can't even hook anyone anymore.

Did I get it right?

Oh and Legion has a doo doo gun now.

No, not even close. Most of my killer games are exactly the same length, for reasons I´ve mentioned many times on this forum already. Ruin really, really wasn´t that good.

Keeping items as survivor is exactly the same per match, as it can´t be used without charges. All in all, the item changes for survivors is a nerf, not a buff. Use Hangman´s trick? A branch offering? Slug? On PTB I´ve killed so many survivors by just pretending to pick them up as the others all come running instantly, ridiculously eager to sabo. Usually ends up with them being downed.

No it's a qol feature as most just 99'd them anyway.

They now lose the add-ons attached to it though so in essense its more of a nerf.

More like they decided the best way to fix it was to nerf toolboxes significantly and introduce breakable walls to make chases easier around strong loops. Repair speeds are not the be-all and end-all of game speed.

So to deal with that now sabo takes less then killers base hit recovery?

Introduce breakable walls on the single map where they are barely useful save one in the shack.

imagine how out of touch you are with your game when you feel toolboxes are primarily the problem LOLOLOL.

Introduce them as a mechanic into the game. My point is that the devs are very obviously putting plans into motion to address game speeds, even if the issue itself hasn't yet been completely resolved.

Survivors keep their items only if they escape with it, same as before. The only difference now is that it doesn't disappear anymore when you use it up. It just goes disabled and if you escape with it then you keep it. But you lose addons no matter what, unless you use ace in the hole.

How does that even bother you? Any survivor that wants to keep their item just stops using it when it's almost used up anyway. If anything then the items got nerfed because you lose the addons.

And no , the toolboxes are far from being a bnp lol.

And I doubt the new sabo will make it to live the way it is.

No you didn't. Survivors 99% their charges anyway, so this change makes no difference whatsoever. The one change that does make an impact is that they no longer get to keep their addons, unless they bring a certain perk which is a significant nerf. Also, toolboxes were nerfed and now contain a lot less charges

Um many people, especially Killer mains in this forum, were complaining about (multiple) toolboxes and how they support genrushing extremely though. Devs reacted to it, but they just can’t make anything correctly.

    >So first we lost ruin so that survivors have it easier which pretty much results in almost every game being very short.<

No. Those players who did fine never even had to rely on ruin, which already was more of a placebo-effect than being helpful at all. So nothing really changed, just those bad ones now have to look for another crutch to rely on or at best start learning to play properly.

    >Now devs decided that best way to fix it is to let survivors always keep their item(it's not like every survivor has hundreds of copies of the same one after all)<

Survivor already kept their items by 99ing them. Its just QoL.

    >change every toolbox into BNP<

Toolboxes got heavily nerfed in regards of overall repair speeds. Toolboxes are now more useful for sabo, or pushing through the last bits of a gen. Its an obvious repair speed nerf, which was the main objective.

    >and bring back sabo meta so that killer can't even hook anyone anymore<

There are still plenty of ways to deal with sabo, its not like before where a squad could enitrely remove half of the hooks for minutes. Its more like those flashlight teams, that swarm around a downed mate and are easy to take out all at once, while hooks respawn quite quickly. It still needs preparation, maybe even more coordination than before, cause you cannot sabo just any hook at any time.

Having a gen completed in 80 seconds at a bare minimum while having no difficult doing it (ie holding M1 and hitting a very simple audio/visual cue) is the real issue. I've played plenty of matches to where 3 gens can be done without the killer being able to find/land the first hit (this is at rank 1 btw). If i'm in my normal swf we often times purposely 3 gen ourselves just to give the killer a chance and allow us to farm each other off hooks. Couple that with matchmaking being the worst it has ever been and the game is toast. I don't remember the last time myself or any swf partners have needed or used a toolbox during our matches (unless we are memeing). Toolboxes aren't even a bandaid to any issues the killers are facing. I've said this before, but the devs took the only thing in the game that made skillchecks even someone skillful. I don't mind a majority of my matches lasting 6-8 minutes, but i've never played a game where I actively have to apologize to a member of the enemy team so frequently, either because of their lack of skill (because they are either bad or just low rank) or because the game was so unfavorable to them from the start that they didn't stand the slightest of chances.

There are perks which help with this issue. Even so you should be able to hit and down the one doing the sabo and slug them.

The old sabo when changed was when the phrase gen rush was coined as it left nothing else for the survivors to do.

If they are running around sabpoing they aren't on gens. A yellow toolbox allows 4 hooks to be saboed and the perk has a 30s cooldown.
