Is there gonna be a License killer maybe after chapter 15 ?
Can we expect the next chapter 16 to be a license killer\survivor , and if so how long do you think it will be till we get chapter 16 ? Anyone want to speculate on who the killer\survivor could be for chapter 16? It would be cool to see Chucky in a toy factory map. Or ( this probably wont happen but) Vorhees on a camp crystal lake map . pinhead would of been awesome . or the red face demon from the insidious , or the nun lol so many to chose , what do yall think?

We don't know what to expect at this stage. They don't release in patterns, so whether the next killer will be licensed or not is anyone's guess. Not trying to stifle anyone's creativity, so speculate away, just trying to answer the initial question.
As for when we can expect Chapter 16, though, they release roughly every three months, so some time in May seems most likely, possibly even late April.

Hmm.. based on PC's DLC:
Nurse 2016
Myers 2016
Hag 2016
Licensed in 2016: 1
Bill (L4D2) 2017
Doctor 2017
Huntress 2017
Leatherface 2017
Freddy 2017
Licensed in 2017: 3
Pig 2018
Clown 2018
Spirit 2018
Legion 2018
Licensed in 2018: 1
Plague 2019
Ash 2019
Ghostface 2019
Demogorgon 2019
Oni 2019
Licensed in 2019: 3
Deathslinger 2020
So... to counter @Fibijean there IS a pattern.
So based on the current pattern there should only be 1 Licensed Killer this year.
But, this is not "factual" yet. It is clearly speculation but it still has a pattern oddly enough.
So expect about 1 Licensed character this year. If not less or more.

Definitely a pattern for sure , so maybe at least one

Aside from Chapters, do you know if there will be any events soon?

probably we will haveot wait for halloween for an event

I'm about 90% sure that pattern is an incidental one, though. And it doesn't tell us anything about what we'll get for the next chapter as per OP's question, which is the kind of pattern I was referring to. Because so far this has been the pattern (O being original and L being licensed):
O, L, O, L, O, O, L, L, L, O, O, O, O, L, L, L, O, O.
Which isn't really a pattern. The next could easily be an L or an O. So it's probable that we'll get a licensed DLC this year, but we have no indication as to whether the next chapter will be that license or not.

Probably, I'm hoping we get another summer event this year though. Events were what kept me playing the game sometimes.

You have a good point FiBijean

I'm not a developer, so unfortunately I don't know for sure. I doubt we'll be getting any more of the old kind of events, with secondary objectives included, any time soon, but I do expect that we'll get something for the game's fourth anniversary in June. I'm expecting at least a Blood Hunt, and almost certainly a lot more than that, since they've been amping up the anniversary celebrations every year and last year's was pretty spectacular.

Hopefully and will the 5th year anniversary come with a new chapter too?

That seems more like a coincidence than a pattern. A pattern would suggest that they intentionally do it. They release licensed content as the opportunities arise. There are only so many opportunities for licensed characters that we as a player-base would even want to see. I'm at the point where I don't care if they ever release another licensed killer. Hell, I would even prefer that they don't so I can get the characters with shards instead of money.

I don't know. My guess would be probably not, since the next chapter is likely to come out around May and the one after that in July-August, so they probably won't coincide with anniversary celebrations. It's not impossible that they might celebrate a bit early such that the celebrations do coincide with the next chapter release, but I don't expect them to do that simply because it would probably be too much work for them to be planning a chapter release and an anniversary at the same time. If I were a dev, I would try to get the chapter out a few weeks before the anniversary so that we can focus just on celebrating when the time comes.

But didn't the Ghost face chapter release around the same time the 5th year anniversary began? I'm sure it did from what I can remember.

That's true, but I don't believe that was intentional, it's just that they release DLC every three months and the anniversary last year happened to be three months after the previous DLC release. This year, the DLC is due in May and the anniversary is in June, so it's unlikely that they'll coincide.

I sure hope not.

If they keep their plans of releasing a chapter every 3 months, which I don't see why they wouldn't considering how successful the game has been recently, we would get the next chapter in late june/ early july

The next killer will be the one announced with the 4th DBD anniversary, so I think it'll be a licensed killer. Doing a licensed killer for such a big event would bring a lot of eyes to the game

Hopefully.

I'd be surprised if they did that, considering it would require them to hold off on the DLC release for an extra month at least. They usually release new chapters every three months, which would mean that the next one is due in May, but the game's anniversary isn't until mid-June.

It would be cool to get a resident evil killer and/or survivor. Like Jill and Chris and the Nemesis or tyrant

Thats a good one , never thought about RE

I doubt we'll see anything RE related in dbd since they have their own similar asymmetrical game coming with the re3 remake

You missed Oni

im guessing maybe penny wise. I still think there might be something to that, he was rumored and speculated a lot when the devs followed Stephen King on twitter or something. Reason being they did something like that with the stranger things creators before we got Nancy, Steve, and demo

I think the bigger question is whether there's going to be another chapter at all, the game's future looks darker than ever

They released killers or survivors independent from their 3month-chapter-release cycle right? And those were always licensed, iirc: Bill, LF, GF, Ash.
So there is still hope for a licensed character in between or maybe for the anniversary

They're going to be at E3 this year. Which takes place June 8th - 11th. DBD's anniversary is June 14th. So you bet your ass they have a licensed chapter to show off. Speaking of potential licenses the new Jordon Pelee's Candyman movie has a theatrical release date of June 12th. Candyman is a killer that MCote said the devs have considered in a podcast last October.
The Candyman IP is with Universal. So is the Halloween IP. Last year the devs went to Universal to negotiate for Halloween cosmetics. When the devs went to Lionsgate to negotiate for Saw cosmetics, Ash vs Evil Dead was brought up. Maybe the same thing happened with Halloween cosmetics and Candyman? 🤔

Wouldn't the next one actually be due in June though. The PTB for this one is February, but unless I'm wrong the chapter release date is in March, so PTB would probably be late May release early June?
0 -
Very early March, and only because February is so short. I would expect mid to late May for the next chapter. It's close, but I'd be surprised if it overlapped with the anniversary. That's not to say that it won't happen, or that the devs won't decide to delay the chapter release to coincide with the anniversary, I'm personally just not expecting things to play out that way. But I could be wrong, ultimately your guess is as good as mine 🤷

Licensed chars are whats pumping people into this game. Which is keeping it alive. So I'm certain they are working on getting someone in here. There's probably all sorts of red tape and hoops they have to jump through to do that so it takes time.
I forget which youtuber said this but I think it describes dbd perfectly.
"This game is a revolving door. With new players coming in and veteran players going out"

I don'the want to speculate about the chapter 16 yet. Because we need to wait that chapter 15 coming right into the game. But I want to know what characters could be in the archive 3. It was frustrating that I needed to buy Jane and spirit. Because I don'the have it. To complete this challenge's. Could be really fun to know who next, to save I ride to shards and buy this killers. Thanks you.

Oops.

Well, the next killer, The Deathslinger, is due out on March 10. Three months from that is June, just in time for the 4th anniversary

There may be a pattern in the aftermath, but theyve openly stated there is no pattern they follow or use, it's all coincidental.

Isn't it March 3? Three weeks from the PTB would be unusual.
