What About Giving the Deathslinger the Ability to Harpoon-Propel Himself?
A couple days into the PTB, it seems there's a general sense that the Deathslinger is very fun, but not overly good as a result of his nonexistent map pressure. I, along with others, originally mentioned giving him a "bayonet charge" type of ability, but I can admittedly see problems with this taking away from his primary attributes and being hard to reconcile for some. Another nonlethal alternative, would enabling the Deathslinger to periodically (30-45 seconds or so) use his harpoon to shoot into the environment an quickly propel him self forward. With this, his secondary ability is non-offensive (no longer taking away from his primary attacking mechanic), he now has the means to effectively traverse the larger maps and provide pressure, and he can stay at his current 110% movement speed. I love hearing peoples ideas on things like this, so here's just another one!
P.s. I got the game recently and this is the first chapter release I've seen--how often are noticeable changes made from the PTB when a chapter goes live?

Changes like the one you proposed? Never, that would delay the release date.
Smaller changes like the one's made to GhostFace and Spirit? Often.

If he could harpoon himself onto second story windows that'd be neat. Only Nurse can do that at the moment.

I like the idea, but instead of anywhere in the enviroment, why not the hooks themselves. Within a certain distance, he can grappel a hook and pull himself there faster. A negative could be that by doing this, it destroys the hook for X seconds.

That's a really interesting twist on the mechanic, I personally like it.

What, so like... Nurse 2.0 but without fatigue? Sounds a bit op to me..

let his harpoon insta break pallets. Then let him reel in pallets in order to drop them.

As for the propel, that would just be silly and wouldn't work as intended. I can already see that being a super glitchy mess that would just delay the chapter by a month at least.
As for PTB updates, originally they only made changes on launch day or a week after, but recently it's been on the second week, then on launch and the week after.

Sounds terrifying. I like it.

Minus the whole going through walls part.

I like this idea too. I doubt they can implement and test it before the killer goes live. But it feels like something that should be added later.
