Is the DC penalty to harsh?
I know what you are gonna say "Dont dc its not fair dor your team" blah blah but ive dced twice this week once monday and once today and they have stacked to a 15 minute ban! Which I think is way too harsh when I have only dced twice over a week and can understand it getting harsher the more you dc but it seems insane that 1 dc is around 6 minutes of ban and a second ALMOST A WEEK LATER still stacks to a around 15 minute ban.

Are you sure you didn't dc'ed more? I think it resets daily. First two are 5 mins btw.

This is DBD. It couldn’t even reset ranks correctly last week. Xbox servers aren’t working correctly. I wouldn’t be surprised if the dc penalties aren’t even working as intended.

well i feel youre lying, i had a major bad power day, lost power multiple times which counted as DC`s, the final power cut was for 8hours. and i can still play fine, they also reset after 12 hours so either quit less or put up with the bans thats on you and no one else. quitting should be ban-able and by no means is it harsh, its like 1 min for the first dc then 5, 15 etc. so just stop quitting for a day or two and youre golden.

I had this as survivor. Vaulted a window, ran a little ahead, and them boom, back at the exact same window but the killer was outside so it was like I lagged but didn't? Couldn't be latency if he was following me outside the window. Since dedicated servers hit Xbox, the game has become a bug simulator for me.

no thats the dedicated servers, thats due to the insanely high 200ms servers we ended up with and has been removed because of it. really not harsh unless he crashes every day multiple times which he should probably look into fixing instead of blaming a game for banning him .

Dude I have people that can back it up and I am being fully serious that two times this week only and I had a 15 - 16 minute ban on matchmaking. When survivor queue times are 10 minutes long alone I aint sitting through a god awfully long ban on top of that unless I have to.

Yeah I haven't dced anymore, I have the people Ive play with to back me up on it. 2 times this week and my timer was around 16 minutes even though the dcs are on different days.
And yes you are very right if they cant reset ranks like they ALWAYS HAVE DONE right, how can we trust them with a brand new system?

I believe people who DC as a rage quit should be punished. But this new DC Ban process is not always fair:
A person I know had two disconnections: one due to the house electricity outage and then one from a 'known error' which popped up on screen.
For this = 4 hour ban.
He's so cheesed off he's considering playing other games.
I'm with him...but due to the horrendous match-making.
I'm a level 12 killer going against levels 1-2 and getting slaughtered. Absolutely no fun.

well xbox servers have been removed. and as a player who has had the game since its release on console i know the game doesnt always work as intended but you need to wait 12 odd hours to get the ban time reduced, its not a full reset nor should it be, so if you was sitting at 16+mins ban youll need to wait over 36hours, or just dont quit

Penalty should be higher instead. Dc once a week or once a year, its a bad behaviour..
If it was me that could decide that, first dc would be starting with 15 mins and then gets multiplied by gameminutes it took to end the match for your left behind teammates on the map... you can be lucky i dont make these decisions

thats a complete lie, who tf do you think will believe 1 DC equals a 4hour ban? i have had unkown error, errors, powercuts and i can still play and after my 3rd powercut my ban was at 15mins so... but power has been fixed since and oh look, no DC`s since and no its all reset, funny how not quitting games does that. and you complain about the ranks yet half of those red ranks should be rank 10 anyway, god help you if you actually versed red ranks players, if they still play the game. hell i never see them.

how would you get banned for 4 hours in 2 dcs? when the max is 30 minutes? If that happened he really should've screenshotted that so it can be fixed.

The whole thing is over the place.
The person said the game kept lagging, then a message appeared saying there was a known error, then it said he had escaped with the host disconnected, and then back to the main menu and had a 4 hour ban.

lmao the max is 30 minutes? i had a 6 hour ban just before lmfao i dont take the game that seriously and clearly too many people do. get rid of the dc penalty it only makes people put their interest else where when the game doesnt even have a offline mode.

As far as I know you can't get more than 30 minutes. I would imagine constantly DCing after that might lead to a several week ban and then a permanent one. Its either a bug or they are not telling the truth.

It's really odd.
I understand I am going to get the standard DBD loudmouth saying I'm lying, that the person must of been DC several times and that the ban is justified. That's standard here. But unfortunately this has happened.
He's definitely not a quitter. As I said, he doesn't quit as he wants BP and fears getting banned.
The other day the downstairs electricity went off and he got a very small ban, around 40 seconds.
Then this evening a match got all laggy, then the game froze but he could hear the sound fx. Then his game ended. And he had a 4 hour ban. It's gotta be a bug.
I'm in the same house.

I've played thousands of games and DC'd only when the killer is too laggy to play against or there is a game halting bug. I've also DC'd when the game crashes, which it's done in the past on certain versions and on certain driver combinations, and will certainly come up again. Neither are in my control yet because they can't come up with a better way to counter DC's such as bloodpoint awards, game mechanics being changed etc., I have to pay for the toxic immature kids they are catering to more and more??
For BHVR to presume their game is anywhere near a polished enough product to punish people in situations that are completely out of one's control is arrogant and a real slap in the face of their customers.
It says A LOT about the people that run this company.

It has reset the dc punishments against me 24hours after my last dc. I think you dc'd more than you want to admit.

Not harsh enough. I think the first 2 should be 5 minutes, 3rd 4 hours and after that 24 hours ban. After that it resets. People with more then two 24h suspensions should get a 1 month temporary ban

The fact that you can just ######### makes it a joke anyways...
It should account for games played though. I may bluescreen/unintentionally DC 1 every 20 or 30 games. I ended up with a 15min ban today.
So yeah idk. Unless they fix those 2 points it's more annoying then anything so far to me.

so far this time out system it's been nothing but a blessing, before it came out 4 out of 10 games i would see at least 1 dc, now is very rare to see someone dc and when they do i feel peace inside me cause i know that entitled brat is going to have to wait because he/she wanted to throw a temper tantrum. thank you bhvr

I am not a member of the sites, but I had a look on Twitter and Reddit and plenty are complaining about sudden lengthy bans are simply one dc, often due to internet outage. There must be something buggy with the system.
