Is anybody else seeing this when they try to get onto the forums?
My ip is blurred for obvious reasons but it's setting off alarm bells, I've never had this happen before today

Yes, we are aware of what's happening and we're in contact with Vanilla in an attempt to resolve it - it seems to have stopped for me now, but had the issue for a few hours earlier.

This is most likely the case, many sites get 3rd party DoS protection that takes this form. Essentially, instead of directly getting to speak to the forum, your browser first has a short back-and-forth with a third party before it directs your traffic to the forum, so that an IP sending a bunch of junk traffic won't actually get through to affect the forum's ability to handle traffic.

This is on many sites, its a DDOS protection measure.
Probably they tightened their security because someone else got attacked.
Its nothing to worry about.

Just happened to me too. Happened several times in the past 2 days. Pretty annoying.
Earlier today it got stuck on it and wouldn't let me through to the site........

Yes. Every time I refresh a page if it's been more than 5 minutes since I looked at the tab. Incredibly annoying.

It's part of an anti-hacker system. It's so the forums can't be taken down by DDOS attacks.

yeah I'm getting it intermittently, we have no word yet on whether it's going to be a temporary matter or a permanent one - as soon as I know more I will update you all.

Any plans to change the background color back to black and maybe up the font size? The new forums are really hard to read for some reason. Just yesterday I had no problem.

can you guys just stop tinkering with the forums already? They've changed like 2-3 times, drastically in the last year when there was no valid point to.
IT tinkerers are the worst. Just knock it off already. There are plenty of other ways to be a forum admin other than changing the theme to whatever mood you're in that week!

This is essentially Vanillas DDOS/Bot protection, sometimes when you go to a website powered by Cloudflare you'll get a similar pop-up, it's harmless and sometimes necessary to negate downtime.
