This shoulder grab cancel thing is getting really old
Find a survivor on a gen completely oblivious, enter shoulder grab animation for it to suddenly cancel and now im stuck in limbo and the survivor is already 15 meters away.
Even basic animation and latency priority has to prioritize survivors over killers even though killers are the ones making the decision to shoulder grab instead of going for a normal hit LUL

Oh I know. I had this happen when I was playing Meyers. The grab worked, but the survivor got away, but the server didn't agree, so I had the mechanic of carrying the survivor, even though I didn't actually have the survivor. Couldn't drop the ghost survivor, couldn't hook the ghost survivor. All I could do was let them escape.

It's become so frequent for me I just renamed grabs as a Shoulder tap. A little 'Ahem, I'm right behind you' action

Glad it's not just me experiencing this. Go to snatch them off a gen, or totems, or hook, and nothing. I temporarily freeze and they get away..

You'd actually be surprised because it goes both ways. I've grabbed people as killer who I shouldn't have grabbed, and had the grab cancel happen to me. As survivor I've left my action and then for grabbed, and people have had them canceled. It's bullshit for everyone, not just for the killers, and these servers are just frustrating at this point.

Worst part was when the devs made two grab challenges on Tome 1. They're completely busted why would you make a challenge for that?!

I had the same happen in Reverse as well. I'm on a generator or totem and I let go and sometimes even miss the skill check during the process and I still get teleport grabbed. The first time it happened to me while playing a spirit was weird, because I did grab the person and then I froze and they vanished lol

Dedicated servers my man they are a pain I was playing survivor got hit by a freddy that I didnt even see and my friend watched him swing from half the map away and hit me

This happened to me twice in one match last night. I grabbed someone who was dead on hook that was vaulting a pallet straight into me and got stuck in the animation for a few seconds then at the end of the match two survivors were trying to body block so when I hooked the person I was carrying one of them immediately went for the save and I once again got stuck in the grab animation for a few seconds which was enough to let them all get to the gate. Completely ruined and screwed me out o f a good match. Literally got 0 kills when it was looking like a 3-4K game before the first grab glitch

It doesn't prioritize survivors over killers xd I get hit through pallets and vaults all the time as a survivor. Latency clowns both sides bud, that's just dedicated for you

If i'm not wrong, i remember they said it's under bug category in last stream..
and you know how long it takes for killer bugs to be fixed.... nurse bug, sound bug, etc..
they'll get back to it in 2-3 years

I’m a big fan of this game, plan on playing a long time, BUT I’m afraid then devs are going to kill it ling before its shelf life is over naturally.
They make dumb changes, ignore bugs to push out new content, I won’t say anything about cosmetics because it’s a different team that does those. But they need to hire someone new who understands some of this tech stuff a little better then their current team otherwise this game is going to be one of the biggest “what if,” in video game history

Not only does this survivor grab mechanic not work, so the developers also changed the best grab animation ----->
to this crap, which is now in the game.

Yeah they really need to fix dedicated servers. If it makes you feel any better survivors have an equivalent: dead hard not working but saying exhausted. Could easily get you to a pallet half the time but it just doesn't work

Finally seen this from a survivor POV last night vs a Wraith. Poor dude.

Everyone gets screwed by the dedicated servers. Survivors get hit from 10 miles away and killers’ powers don’t work sometimes, and killers can’t get grabs consistently.

Welcome to DBD where 6 month old killer bugs is known but the devs don't do ######### about, because it doesn't affect survivors in a negative way. If you notice anymore killer bugs please feel free to keep them to yourself since BHVR doesn't give a ######### about killers.

For real though, it's nearly thrown matches on me. I've blinked right on top of survivors for a grab and played the animation only to go into fatigue and cooldown. That can't happen when there are 2 gens left in a close match.

There's a grab challenge on level 2 of this tome that I haven't bothered with yet. I don't know if out of lockers counts, but I haven't managed to grab survivors otherwise since servers came to ps4

While it is prettier, I'd assume those animations are a little heavier on the system's processor and they are definitely more time consuming. The quicker animations just help the game be more fluid and faster.

I'll see your one shoulder grab glitch and raise you another. Survivor opening the exit gate. Last alarm hasn't even sounded yet. First grab animation happens, stuck for three seconds work my hand on hey shoulder. Encouraging her. Yeah you open that gate!! You got this!!! Animation cancels and i go back to normal. I try again. Again, stuck frozen with hand on her shoulder. Last alarm goes off. Gate opens. I reset back to normal again.
This isn't a latency/ split second ping issue. This wasn't a quick grab at a window that our two consoles couldn't agree on the timing for. This happened over the course of about 10 seconds. It's a bug and I wish they'd fix it.

Yeah I don't even play killer much but I've been doing it for the challenges and I've been really confused. I had it happen like two or three times in one game.

the survivor grab animation cancel was in the game prior to dedicated servers and the devs did nothing about it. Dont expect them to fix it any time soon.

Whenever I got those challenges, I just went into a game and when it was down to last survivor, I downed them, communicated that I wanted them to work on gens, and then grabbed them. ez money.

Depends on ping. If you have good ping and the killers is trash = grab
If you have trash ping and the killers ids good = killer gets robbed
If you both have good ping = survivor sided
That is just my personal experience. They seem to prioritize the survivor for this.

So glad this isn't just me. Happens on gens regularly and happened on a locker last night. Went into the grab animation only to cut back to me just standing there and the survivor was on the other side of the wall by the time I had control again.
