Rework hooks to be anti-tunnel
The game shouldn't be balanced around Decisive anymore. The core hook mechanics should change to naturally be anti-tunnel.
My suggestion is that survivors re-hooked within a minute of being unhooked don't advance in sacrifice progress. So if someone was first hook and got tunneled, they'd still be first hook progress-wise if they got re-hooked within a minute

What do Killer's get in exchange? Faster Entity progression?

So no fix to gen speeds, huge maps or killer problems? Simply balancing so survivors will have a more enjoyable experience? You should be a Dev.

Oh my...infinite hook point farming.

I believe Jeff has a perk that breaks the hook you were just on therefore kind of acting in the idea you are pitching. I agree though, I feel this would help with DS being a viral thing in a Survivor Build but as for right now I feel every Survivor has the right to run DS since tunneling is a very common thing in Killer gameplay.

Never tunnel, always mori after the first hook. Fixed.

In before all the people telling you other things need balancing too...
Oh wait, they're already here.

Nope

Doesnt help if another hook is 6 meters away

Which is why DS is justified.

A balance change like this doesn't exclude other balance changes in favor of the killer though. And no where did the OP say that. But it's not what this thread was about.

I thought you were trying to say that jeffs perk fixes tunneling problem my bad...

Will never happen. Killers feel entitled to hard tunnel and ruin the game for other people.
Funny though when you check their profiles and the same people rage and scream when they play survivor and get tunnelled.

Its all good dude.

faster chasing speed

DS is garbage, you don't have to tunnel and get hit with it. DS is not anti tunnel and whoever sells that story never plays killer.

I do like less people running DS but, is this rework assuming gen speeds will be fixed?

How so?

You and I both know that is a small percentage of the community.
I tunnel because it is the most efficient way to play, kill the weakest link and a 3v1 is way less sweaty than a 4v1.
However, I am upset when I get tunneled, not at the Killer but at myself for being the weakest link.

That's snappy and witty, but seriously. What compensation for having a 60 second free period without losing a hook state?
Decisive at least has stipulations; one use, skill check, within 60 seconds, using a perk slot.
Because as is, tunneling may be 'scummy', but if its effective, and is a legit strategy, building in a counter as baseline with no downside seems one sided.

@Carpemortum Killers can have a faster bleed out timer so slugging games don't last as long.
Maybe reduce it by 60 seconds so the bleed out is 3 minutes total instead of 4 minutes

That isn't exactly a meaningful buff. That encourages more unfun gameplay

You're preaching this to a Survivor who refuses to waste a perk slot on DS. I could care-less if you think its garbage, doesn't effect me.

No it's definitely a large percentage of the community, and most just tunnel the first person they find it's not based on skill.

Louder doesn't equal more people.

Obviously, because the majority of the playerbase is survivor and the killer mains tend to be common on the forums

kinda like how survivors can abuse DS and borrowed time to unhook someone right in front of the killers face...

I think you are confusing Killer players and Killer mains.
I play Killer, but I don't main Killer. I split 50/50. I think most do a split one way or another.
There aren't that many real Killer mains on the Forums, at least not in the way you are suggesting. Likewise, there are not many Survivor mains on the Forums.

Nah, I will simply just say that this is a bad idea. :P This is technically weaker than DS, but makes up for it by working both first and second hook instead of either-or. It also just encourages camping and slugging to make sure they don't get to take advantage of this.

Doesnt seem like a bad idea, however, I think it would require some major nerfs to certain survivor perks like DS and BT in order to be implemented.

Tunneling a.k.a. "I'm bad at survivor and I get caught all the time".
Basically you're asking killers to ignore the weak link...tho, why? There's no logic.
If you let him go free, he'll just smash gens...holding M1 and pressing the ocassional space bar doesn't require a huge amount of skill.
If you're trying to tunnel a good survivor you basically lost the game cuz chases will take forever.

Time requirement will never work. It will force good killers to camp their hooks, and you would basically make DS basekit.
Tunneling should be discouraged and DS needs fixing, but its the timer that makes DS so bad, it just will not work.

No just no. If anything survivors need to die faster cause gens go way too fast and loops are too long.
0 -
no?
dont hookfarm and you should have enough time to leave the hook area before the killer comes back...
also killers would just slug and wait out the time before rehooking the dude. same as with decisive, you'd basically gain nothing.

Honestly the major problem is that the person with ds if ressed can gen rush, and make aggressive plays, cause of the 60 sec immunity. Remove this possibility, make real beefit for the killer to not tunnel for take the confirmed kill, and maybe make a buff state to the ds user to make him the possibility to mend himself and be again in game.
