Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Trolling

This... Is such a stupid topic and I feel idiotic for talking about this. But unlike OchiDon't and many others I do not troll or be toxic on a regular basis. It only occurs when I am bored and looking for excitement...

And so. I am hooked, once upon a time (meaning five minutes ago) and, as the trashy PS4 player I am I was messaging someone. Unable to see what was happening in the game I was returning to a scene of me injured in the basement after being rescued by a David. The David heals me and then, instead of making a swift exit because we're facing Leatherface, he searches the chest. I walk up the stairs and wonder if survivors can block off the entire entrance like Killers and, surprisingly, they can. And so, I blocked it until Leatherface came with a third victim, to which he then proceeded to mow us all down. And then I get threatened with a report.

And so, I wonder. Since this was my first case of actually trolling and prohibiting someone's escape, I wondered if the crime is so severe that I shall be struck down with furious might due to this single offence.

If so. Should many players be banned because they troll their friends? Is there a certain degree of trolling that is acceptable? I'd hope so, otherwise we wouldn't be living in such a happy world when these things backfire and cause even more joy. My question is though, in summary, if rare occurrences of a player trolling will be treated as severely as a regular troll.

You are on PS4, they can report you all day long, does not mean jack unless you break one of their rules. That said, why would you do that? There is no rule saying he could not search the chest. He was taking the risk, you could easily left the basement no harm no foul. Yet you felt the need to punish this player for not playing the way you wanted.

For your silly question, how would this random player know if you are a rare troll or a regular troll? To them, you were a prick who screwed him/her out of more BP. While I know reporting does nothing, I would try to remember you PSN name and if I see you in a lobby, I would drop out.

Lastly, this is like the 3rd or 4th post you have made in the last day or so about being upset about post game messages. I would advise you turn off your messaging at least while you are in DBD. You are taking comments far too serious for your own good.

This was not one I took seriously. I'm not worried about being punished and it instead sparked some curiosity.

You're tone seems very aggressive. But instead of being a special snowflake I'll admit that what I did to that player was cruel. But how many players are punished for playing altruistically, using flashlight saves or certain perks? How many players are treated unfairly because they didn't play a certain way?

And, lastly. I doubt this is the 3rd one. I've made posts about outfits, about a personal lack of excitement over the new chapter. I've made a few comments here and there about the messages received on Console of which only one was I the OP, to my memory. It may not be seen as such a problem on PC due to it being an inbuilt feature into the game and easily accessible but it means a little more when people go out of their way to use a direct messaging system to harass you.

I would like you to name the the 2/3 other posts I've made about comments over the last few days. If you do I will quite easily accept the loss and not carry on.

I will correct myself, you made one other about post game comments. I was thinking about your apologize to the devs for something you asked during the dev stream. My bad for mixing those up.

I was not being aggressive in tone. I was stating my view on what you did. You are right, players are often treated unfairly for not playing a certain way, but usually its by the opposing force, not fellow survivors. I stand by my statement that I would drop a lobby if you had done that to me and I saw you in the lobby. I also stand by my statement you seem to be taking comments made to you too personal.

I'd respect your decision to leave the lobby, the game. You can do whatever you wish. And as for your claims... I won't deny them. I'd endorse them, in fact. I am way too sensitive to comments but that is just a go I am as a person, really. I do try to be less sensitive but it is just in my nature. I can change my behaviour as that is more nurture over nature. But I cannot change my nature as a person. And so I will always be a sensitive cry baby.
