DbD lootboxes.
I think it would be cool to implement loot boxes since many other games are doing it now. Make them contain only cosmetics. bloodpoints and shards if you get dubs. They should be made purchasable with BP or auric cells. I know the bloodweb already has mystery boxes. Maybe the devs should update those to have better surprises inside. What do you all think?

Loot-boxes are kind of a controversial topic in the gaming industry at the moment. In some regards it's seen as gambling and an overall tax to a games health.
I personally don't like the concept of a Loot-Box system coming for DBD that can be paid with money, even if it can also be paid with Iridescent Shards or Blood points... I can already see those options being inferior to the buyable option, which usually offers more in exchange. It's a hard no from me, not to sound rude of course.

Games are trying to move away from lootboxes. Considering many games require that you pay upwards of ten dollars for a single box that usually contains one cheap cosmetic piece and lots of duplicates, this would just worsen the games reputation. A lot of people moved away from Black Ops 3 and 4 for the same reason.

Lootboxes are from hell. You already had a forum riot when the battle pass was announced. Totally against it

The whole concept of lootboxes is so exploitable and have already been a proven horrible addition to games. They need to die.

######### no, especially if they're buyable with Auric Cells. Loot boxes (especially paid ones) are a huge problem in video games. They're basically gambling. They can stay in games like COD, Overwatch, and NBA 2K. DbD doesn't need them.

Loot boxes are parasites in games.

I think for people who did not pay for the season pass but purchase the new chapter within the first month that it comes out should get 5 lootboxes with items you would have unlocked if u had the season pass , and if u play mostly killer you'd get killer items and vice versa

I love that the word "gambling" keeps popping up. Honestly where does player responsibility come into the equation. If people wanna spend real world money on cosmetics then all the more power to them. No one is being forced to buy loot boxes and they don't even contain useful in-game items. But if I really like a cosmetic I'd rather spend in-game currency I am already earning as I play to try and get it. Microtransactions are already rampant in the cosmetic section being forced to buy Auric cells. This loot box system would eliminate it and people would wanna play more to earn more to loot more. It's not that complicated.

You are paying for an UNKNOWN item, and there have been multiple debates from High Courts about if lootboxes, sorry, "surprise mechanics", are gambling or not. They have come to the conclusion that they are, so everybody is going to stick with that.
As for adding them into DbD, there's always the possibility of getting a cosmetic that you'll NEVER USE, just like in Overwatch. I'm not paying for a random chance, when I can already just outright buy the item as is. I can even deal with it being slightly more expensive to guarantee I get an item that I want.

Don't care
Nah, its bad idea in the way you describe it. 4000 BP to get new skin piece? They will never do that xD. Its more probably that they would implement this but outside bloodweb, just to be bought with iridescent shards. And unless they would give chance to get skins for auric cells only then i wouldnt waste even single shard. Just not worth when you can buy whole outfit with it for character you want, and the one you want :P
