Got accused with "lag switch"
Got accused with "lag switch". Bubba (not facecamp version 👏) on Crotus against four SWF, 4K. Lag switcher with servers? After P2P is gone, anyone seen "lag switchers"?

Are you on PTB? I thought servers was only in the PTB and core game is still P2P. But I could be mistaken.

No, you can't lagswitch on dedicated servers, so now that they've been rolled out to all platforms, it's no longer a thing. That person probably didn't realise that their own connection was just bad.

lol on xbox i had a similar situation where a duo thought My connection was causing them to lag and told me to fix my internet because they could barely move. Now whether that is their connection or the new dedicated servers idk but i thought the whole situation was pretty funny especially after they blocked me without letting me respond.

Dedicated Servers are live on all platforms now. XBOX was the last platform to have peer to peer connection. However 2 days ago the devs also added their trash bin servers there so I'm not surprised people are thinking every killer lagswitches.

Met an hacker with lag switch cheat or potato servers. Nurse, always "teleporting" backward/forward, like he have 400-500 latency, and still he hit perfectly while we can't do anyhting against those lag spikes from his side.

The only thing is not cool is nurse vs laggers i thought that blink is onoy allowed for nurse, not survivors too.

Xbox went back to P2P and not sure if they were lag switching but did encounter this piece of garbage Wraith that was lagging me into the ground--it was so bad I couldn't even wiggle. Unleashed on them via DM--they didn't respond...oh well. So yeah I dc'ed that game. Another time a few days before I rezed into the game being carried by this trash Billy. Pretty bad when you start the game being carried to the hook and yes...I dc'ed on that one too. But on PS4 and PC they are dedicated servers so in theory lag switching is impossible as you are playing off the DBD servers and not some killer playing off his next door neighbor's wifi.

Xbox is back to P2P as the dedicated servers were trash and caused high ping for everyone apparently. I didn't have any issues with the new servers really and have had two awful games with terrible lag by the killers playing at McDonald's or something.

I had a killer start messing with their internet at 2 gens left yesterday making me literally freeze for multiple seconds everytime a chase started. I was kinda mad as I ALWAYS check the ping and ping stability before readying up so the killer obviously started messing with their connection when we were about to win.
However my experience with dedicated servers were actually so bad I'm willing to lose to lagswitchers once in a while as dedicated servers made it so I would get hit from MILES away (visually) every game making it completely impossible to loop and predict ANYTHING. You drop the pallet - you get hit. You do not drop the pallet and hug the corner instead - you still get hit. Dodging hits was completely impossible, too. Don't even get me started on window vaults.
As killer I noticed some delay on my power as well allowing survivors to vault windows/pallets in time which was kind of aggravating as well.
I hope they make it so no one gets connected to 100+ ping servers when they bring back the dedicated servers. I want to win/lose because of decisions - not because the dedicated servers connected hits when they shouldn't have and vice versa.

Sounds like a typical survivor main. The idea they screwed up or got outplayed is not possible. So therefore they think the killer cheated.

I'm sure there's weird stuff people can do to their connection even on dedicated servers, especially as the game trusts killer hits based on their perspective of the game. But traditional "everyone freezes for 5 seconds and someone goes down + gets picked up instantly when the game resumes" lagswitch is something I haven't seen since dedis were implemented at least.
For a survivor I guess legitimate connection trouble either between them and the server or between the killer and the server might lead to very questionable situations, again because if the killer hits a survivor on their client it counts as a hit.
So what I'm saying is that someone's connection probably had a hiccup and they're just mad about it.

Let's see I literally rezzed into the game being carried by the killer. Another game the wiggle bar wouldn't even move. I am not saying these two were purposely lagging, but they sure as hell were lagging me to death--and Xbox is p2p. On dedicated I have vaulted windows and literally been 10 feet from the window and still get hit, I've juked a killer and the killer was again feet away from me and still get hit. I've been hit by the Huntress while inside the locker. Again this is not the killer cheating but just problems with the game itself, but if you think there aren't real problems with how hits are recorded you are living in some place where unicorns paint pretty rainbows across the sky and Skittles fall as rain.

Lag switching is still absolutely a thing. It doesnt work in the on demand way it did, but it does still give an advantage to the killer in most situations.

If you can't do it on demand, then it's not really lag switching. It's just lag.

Stop renting out BHVR's servers and bending them to your will.
