I really enjoy this new way to disconnect by killing yourself on/by hook (sarcasm)
Why allow a person to disconnect when they can instead:
Be farmed by the killer
Be farmed by teammates
Giving free BBQ&Chili stacks
Giving free Devour Hope Stacks because they mange to 4% or another team mate unhooks them
Giving you away when they scream due to infectious fright
Giving you away due to screaming from madness
Giving you away due to iridescent king random addons
Giving tokens of any kind because the person trying to d/c is obsession so they just work with killer to sandbag the team then d/c on hook to give killers 4k
Being penalized as killer b/c someone died near you while you were looking around with BBQ because this counts are close hook proximity
Being hit by legion to figure out where the rest of the team is
Being penalized as survivor for failure to unhook teammates
Being caught out by killer because you're going to save your teammate and take a protective hit and give them borrowed time but they decide to die as soon as you make it to hook
Just to name a few perks of this new system. Seriously, I just love spawning in with 3 people and a bot. Why didn't DBD think of this sooner.
No but seriously when is the old system coming back?

Survivors were suiciding on hook before the DC penalties too. This is nothing new.

Who? You want me to stream the things that happen in my game on a daily basis. I have Red Ranks dying to an insidious Bubba next to exit gates. I play against insidious tier 3 Myers. Killers will literally slug an AFK and plop them in the middle of a 3 gen set up to ensure no one works on them. Because no one runs empathy and can't tell if the person is AFK or if they got slugged and are waiting on help so the first time you pick them up the killer comes rushing back to destroy whoever picked them up
True but it wasn't this bad. Killers don't get the disconnect bonus so they're doing everything they can to avoid being penalized and depipping because a survivor died on hook to quickly. I've seen more killers get near perfect or perfect games with a person who afk'd or suicided on hook than with an actual 4 man full team trying all game.

I’m not saying these things don’t happen to people, it’s just hard to believe it happens this often to you... I have people off themselves on first hook or still even straight DC, but 1 or maybe 2 games and I play for at least a couple hours most days.
Then you see people come and say it happens to them in like 90% of their games, am I just the luckiest player ever?

Firstly if I'm against Ghostface or Oni, or the killer is skulking around me waiting yeah I'll hasten the sacrifice & take the loss. Secondly if no survivors look like they're going to get me off the hook, I'll hasten the sacrifice.
Thirdly I'm under no obligation to hang around (no pun intended) in the slim hope I'm going to be rescued, left in the lurch only to be hooked again within 30 secs. I'd rather save myself the pain & take the L.
It may seem like a garbage way to play but hey there's always the next match. As far as I'm aware it's not illegal nor is it technically disconnecting.
As far as GF & Oni, I find them too OP & haven't enjoyed the games I've been in against them. I barely enjoy facing off against Michael.
Just my 2 cents worth.

Quit when things don’t go the way I want or I feel it’s hard, check... you’ll go far in life.
Yea, it’s a game but most people carry this same “my way or I whine,” approach to all aspects and I doubt you’re different
3 -
Haven't whined at all mate, just stating facts. If you don't like it that's your perogative. Until I'm notified by the devs that I'm doing the wrong thing then I'll continue to do so. BTW I'm a FTP player not one that has spent a truckload on the game & I am relatively new to it. I've made it out more often than not so.......

There's this something called THE REPORT SYSTEM that's very useful for getting players who don't participate in normal gameplay (Griefing) to receive their punishment.
However, this doesn't apply to late-game suicides according to Peanits:
3 -
Multiple gen's go up, but you don't get any hooks all game because you were placed aginst killer that far surpass your skill level so you give up and go afk till you can open the door and be done with it.
BHVR: Report him for afk
Killer players really well, juggling the survivors perfectly to the point they can't finish their second gen
BHVR: It's okay you can suicide, or go afk. That makes sense if your not having fun.

Good to know, I guess we can start reporting first hook sui and see where it goes.
I almost feel bad for anyone who thinks GF is OP, but like you said you’re new and most likely not long for this game so I won’t miss you

Because spawning in with 4 people and 1 DCing the moment they feel cheated was so much better.

Bahahahaha thanks for the vote of no confidence kiddo.
But seriously people like you who get all elitist because they've been playing the game for a long time & denigrate newbies coz you don't like the playstyle rather than offer some direction in how to deal with said situation really need to get outdoors & catch some sunlight.
Nah I think I'm in for the long haul, hope to see you flopping about on a hook in the near future.

I offered you guidance, just learn to play against ALL killers. Stop giving up immediately if you feel something is difficult. You admit you’re new and I can tell you GF and ONI are not the strongest killers, if you think they’re OP wait til you see a good billy, nurse, spirit, Doctor, huntres...
Lukcily by killing yourself instantly you’ll keep you’re self from ever having to go against good players. I guess that’s good for you, probably the type of person that played sports games on rookie difficulty so he can blow out the other team and feel good

I mean, if you're getting destroyed by the killer and you know for a fact that the game is already over (let's say 2 survivors with 5 generators) then of course, suicide, there's no harm done according to Peanits. 😃
However, if the survivor AFKs or suicides first hook (when the killer got 2 hooks with 2 generator left), that's reportable because they are griefing the game when there's no valid reason to give up. They are simply sandbagging the entire team, if you have to actually leave (
irl situation
), DC so you get a timeout rather than a report from multiple players.1 -
Do you know in which thread Peanits posted this?

It's almost as if this was already happening before, but now people act like its new to defend being ABLE to DC?
1 -
I do report believe me. But the issue is I usually get those same survivors in the next match or in 2-3 matches who do the same thing. Does the system work? Yes. But can what's happening now ruin a gaming session more than before? Absolutely. I have my set times to play DBD because I work so I do run into the same people often enough whether good or bad.

wait wait wait. there's no way a dev encouraged abandoning teammates in a coop survival game. NO ######### way. is this real?
0 -
It's a casual game, not a competitive one, stop getting your panties in a twist.

I still fail to see how dying on hook is worse than an insta-DC. You guys complain about anything.
0 -
the only reason i care is because you get punished for disconnecting but devs are telling people it's okay to disconnect just in a different way
it ######### up emblems and pips for everyone involved both killers and survivors. at least with d/c a safety pip was almost always guaranteed but now i've have games with other 20k points and didn't pip because everyone worked slowly and avoided being seen by the killer or at hooked at all costs because we were a man down due to dying on hook which would be fine if we didnt get punished for failing to save them so harshly or if killers didnt have that count as close proximity.
with dying on the hook being the only option for leaving a game killers turn extra sweaty and survivors turn extremely selfish because a disconnect at least accounts for the fact it's not your fault. dying on the hook does not.

If some fool farms me, if it is clear my team mates are all over at the other side of the map and have no intention to come get me, if there are two of us left and I get hooked then I will suicide on the hook.
0 -
Well... DC is reportable as well so... bad if you do and bad if you don't do. I guess.
I don't DC or suicide but if, let's say there are no teammate who is going to save me or try to in a minute then I am not going to spend another minute just to check if someone wants to save me. It's just 900 BP. And yes, the situation where I waited 2 mins at hook with no one trying to save me happended to me so I'ld rather move on.
0 -
If I'm on first hook and people are searching chests right near me or cleansing totems right near me then I'll try to escape myself. I understand the rescue doesn't have to be immediate but if you want to get points before me then I'll move on.

Pipping is overrated, but that’s a separate argument.
DCing = Instant loss of survivor means the survivor team is screwed faster. Killers lose out on BBQ stacks.
Dying on first hook = More time for other survivors to do their objective (temporary distracting killer’s attention). Killer gets a BBQ stack.
Seems to me that the cons are entirely on the DC option.
1 -
DCing is okay if it's only for emergencies. I won't be banned if I DC once every month because my grandparents needed me to do something halfway during the match or the power goes out since it was storming pretty bad. 🙂

I was going to let that go through to the keeper, but I can't.
Mate I'm not afraid of a challenge when it comes to a game & as my Mrs will attest to actually play pro on Madden & Ashes Cricket. I hate wholloping the opposition but when it get to the point of near impossible & you're not having fun it's kinda pointless to continue.
To address the "suicides" go, I don't "suicide" every time against ONI or GF or if i'm finding it a struggle. I play the game as expected. I go for geni's, totems (not sure if they help all or just give me BP's), Sabotage hooks & if they're close by I unhook survivors. Hell I'll go in when the killer is close by & take a hit for them.
But if I'm at the final struggle & (if i can see thier auras) i notice not 1 of the other survivors are making thier way to me then what am I supposed to do? Wear my a button out? You might be able to afford a new controller every 6 months but I can't.
As far as your "advice" goes "Get good against all killers" doesn't advise me of very much apart from the fact you like to fancy yourself as an expert at the game & maybe you have spent hours in game which means you should be able to offer more specific advice such as what survivors to use, what perk, what item, what to do in a chase with Oni or GF. Instead you talk down to me like I'm a piece of s&*/, with what I imagine is a sneer(yeah I met may like you in my 50 years), because I dared to do something the what you must also consider to be "your game" you could never do nor have ever done & that I must be exorcised from it.
Well sorry kiddo, not gonna happen. As I said the other night, if the Devs think I'm doing something wrong & let me know, or the game becomes so bug ridden it's unplayable (doubt it will happen) then I'll be here for awhile.
BTW I hope you're on Xbox because I would love the challenge of throwing you on the hook & you eventually die. & no I'm not one to stand in front of you but I'm not gonna make it easy to Unhook you either.
