What if BHVR just removed Prestige Levels?
Getting a character Prestige III is very tedious, with very little reward for doing so. You get bloodied clothes, which is a minor difference from a characters default ensamble. Additionally there is a belief that you get an extremely slight increase to rarer items/add-ons nodes in that character bloodweb, so slight that it's not much of a difference at all.
However you don't get to show this to anyone, except for a party room of Survive With Friends. Killer's straight up don't get to show their Prestige Levels off at all.
So then what is the point of doing all that hard work? Why doesn't BHVR just remove the Prestige Levels? What kind of compensation should you get if they do remove Prestige Levels? What can they do to improve them?
I think they should add all the bloodied clothes as a selectable outfit in the cosmetics screen to make it easier to equip it in lobby. Also add the Prestige Level to display in the after trial screen.

I think Prestiging should give you a slight bloodpoint discount on all items (500 less BP per Prestige?) in that character's bloodweb in addition to the bloody cosmetics.
It makes the grind back up to 50 easier and means that if you spend a lot of time on that character you'll save a lot of bloodpoints over time, but if you don't you're not going to lose anything by not Prestiging.
As for showing Prestige levels post-game I don't see any reason why not. Rank is going to become a meaningless bragging rights symbol too when the MMR change happens; why not throw Prestige onto the post-game screen too?

I really like this idea, especially since i'm going to be buying a lot of Alex's Toolboxes from the bloodweb when the next update comes through.

Or they could just do what they said it was supposed to do and increase the rarity of items in bloodwebs.

I mean, if YOU dont think its worth it...then dont bother with it, pretty ez really.

See the problem with that is some Killers, like Pig, have better Common and Uncommon add-ons than they do Very-Rares or Ultra-Rares. And others like Michael, Nurse, Plague, Ghostface, Wraith, Oni, or Demogorgon have Common and Uncommon add-ons that have unique effects.
If Prestiging made filled your Bloodwebs with more Rare and above items instead of Uncommon and Common you'd essentially be punished for Prestiging those characters by being denied good add-ons or add-ons needed for specific builds.
And if you just make the Bloodweb bigger so more of everything spawns to get around that, it'll take a lot longer to level up Prestiged characters and get good/all perks on them; once again making it more difficult to get what you might want on a character you like.

Nah, I’ve spent far too long getting every killer (and my 3 survivors of choice) to P3-50, don’t remove that. The grind is one of the things that keeps it fresh for me, always gives me a goal to work towards and you certainly CAN show off your prestige levels that’s why you get the special prestige outfit. I run the body and head on all my killers and then let the weapon be custom of choice since it’s all I Can see in game.

Is that why they changed it? That actually would explain a lot.

Some people like having a huge grind so they always have something to aim for, even if it's nothing particularly rewarding or worthwhile; the satisfaction of completion is its own reward. If they removed prestige, the game would get very boring very quickly for those people.
And as stated above, if you don't personally feel like prestige is worthwhile and consider it a waste of time and resources, that's fine. Just don't prestige.

Though the it's not really rewarding enough. How can it be improved?

KIllers get bloody heads, clothes & weapon, so they do get to show off their devotion to DBD.

I think it would be neat to be able to sell items and addons for bp. You can't do it if you don't prestige, but every prestige level gives you more bp back for the things you sell.

That's true. I'm still happy prestiging characters with the system as it is, but I certainly wouldn't be opposed to more rewards. I can't really see the devs implementing bloodpoint boosters because it would mess up the "bloodpoint economy", but maybe they could add something else to make the grind a bit easier. Like, say, allowing players to choose a single perk from their unlocked perks to start level 1 with aside from the character's unique perks.

Each time you prestige I think you should get to keep more of the things you have unlocked in addition to the bloody clothing. It should also I think take 500 off the cost of things in the bloodweb each time until the 3000 bp items are 1500. As things are now I think it is more harmful to presitge than anything else.

I would cry. All my survivors are p3 50 and even though it means nothing, it's oddly satisfying for me

Maybe, but as far as I know Prestiging has never actually provided a noticeable bonus.
Whether it's intentionally almost unnoticeable or some kind of bug is something only BHVR can tell you.

The idea that prestige levels increase your chances of higher rarity nodes spawning on your bloodwebs, but the increase is so slight that it's barely noticiable. The wikia doesn't even list it as a reward at all - since the bonus is so un-noticiable it most likely isn't even there at all.

Prestiging a character doesn't give much apart from bloody clothes and a negligible increase in bloodweb rarity for a specific reason.
They have stated that they don't want it to be something a player feels is needed and want it to be left completely optional. It is there for those that have the time to grind it out.

When the game first came out, it actually did increase bloodweb item rarity. However, it was changed some time after to where it doesn't affect item rarity. I'm not sure when. Maybe when they reworked bloodwebs to be less grindy and gave out legacy prestige cosmetics.

This. On a few characters, I went p3 for the blood, as I really like those characters.
Others, I wont at all, because I have outfits from events and cosmetics that I wont replace with blood, as I like the look.
Some, mostly killers, I do once. Just for the bloody weapon. I like the ted devil ghostface, but I wanted the bloody knife to go with it.
But all of it was optional. If i dont want them, i dont prestige it.

I miss Legacy outfits. I want one for Feng 😭

I have no prestige in real life. :(

What about a charm version of the character you prestige?
The charm can be their character icon used for achievements. Maybe you get a bronze at 1, silver at 2, and gold and/or bloody at 3?
I don't think anything big needs to be added but it would be nice to have a few more rewards. Also has that nice aspect of showing off that you prestiged a certain character and you don't even need to be playing them.

What are you even talking about? Why would they possibly remove Prestige levels that players worked so hard to earn? What would be the point other than to piss off thousands of players for no reason? If you don't like prestiging characters that fine. Don't. It has always been optional. Every player who has prestiged has understood that it is mainly done for bragging rights.
Now if you are asking if the prestige process could be improved then I would say yes. I would like it if they made it so you could keep 1 perk per prestige level. Call of Duty does that and it makes the process much more enjoyable. I have other ideas on the topic but I'll keep that for another thread.

I don't think removing 1000s of hours of work is it, chief.

Am I seeing things or is your red profile pic gone? Or did you never have one? I know Feng used to be your profile pic lol maybe I'm getting it messed up.

Never had one buddy :D

They could remove the BP cap again, and then give everyone 80'000 bp for every prestige level. They could keep the presige levels, but improve it in some way too.

Is that a typo 80K for each prestige level? So you get 2 prestige levels removed and get 160K back? lol
or just don't remove it, it's not necessary.
