Rift progress
how does everyone feel about the rift?
personally I hate the amount of time required too complete it, for a game that has only two modes (survivor and killer) it is insane too ask 150+ hours of in game time in just a little over two months.
to complete the rift your essentially forced to grind the game non stop:/ and it just gets so boring for me.
coming from a guy who is devotion 7 with every single character and perk unlocked, I finally feel burnt out by this game and will most likely only get on for new chapters to have some fun with the killer. Can’t see myself wanting to grind this game anymore

Don't then, it's your decision to grind over playing the game you want to.
Additionally I usually have a perk on in the background or make a meme build so I enjoy it.
If you feel like you need to grind and don't have fun playing the game, then you do you, do things that you find fun. Maybe it's not Dead by Daylight, but don't grind if you don't enjoy it.

I wouldn't mind it as much if we'd be able to do 2 challenges at once, like one master challenge and one normal challenge at the same time. So then you'd be able to work on a normal challenge that'll usually take a few games to finish while also getting a master challenge at the same time
But that's just my opinion, mostly because I I really only play on weekends

well i brought the rift and havent played in 3 weeks so i doubt im gonna finish it, but honestly i cant bring myself to play the game in this state its just not really fun so iv moved onto other games till the new chapter. from what i can remember the rift is only a grind when youre out of challenges so just wait for level 4 to come out and you should be fine :)

Kinda depends on the challenges. Some are super situational...and some are above my skill level. I main two killers,so doing anything with the others is a huge task. I was able to finish level 3 though...think I got to level 32 on The Rift, and a few of those levels were from filling the bar,not doing the challenges because I ran out.
I play a few hours a day tops,so I guess it's not that bad. Was hoping to at least earn $5 to put towards a character or the next pass. Think I'm two levels away. It's the first "battle pass" I've ever bought for a game. I figure if you are going to play anyways,it's extra BP and cosmetics. Or if you play enough you can earn your money back. Something to work for besides...I dunno... prestige or shards.
I actually just returned to the game like a month ago,and was able to get 10,000 shards, finished Tome 2 level 3,and Tome 1 up to level 2 while waiting for level 4 of Tome 2. So I don't feel like it takes all that long. I don't think I'll finish The Rift in time though. Is it really 150 hours? People have finished?

It’s 150+ hours if you include lobby times, my mistake

I personally feel it’s not hard enough I bought on the release of the 3rd tome and I flew thou it almost np.
the hardest one so far was escape 5 match’s as I play solo and had no real control over others attempting to win

The thing about season pass models like the Rift is that you can get a lot of value for a low price, at the cost of playing a decent amount in a certain time frame. The challenges help keep it interesting, and it's nice that you can do those any time even if you miss them.
Luckily, the cosmetics that are in the Rift will be available in the shop at a later date if you miss them. The FOMO is a lot lower in the Rift than comparable models that I've seen, since there's always the chance to get the outfits later.

I'm too casual for rifts, but I like them. I get around rift 45-50 each time.
I always wonder though. If you don't complete the rifts and get the final charm and a new rift comes out, can you still go back and get it? Like, say I didn't get the (assuming) red coin before the rift ends. Is the red coin gone forever?
I did return because of the rifts though. So, I do like them for lore notes and stuff.

Just finished level 3 Friday. I need 19 and a half levels to complete the rift. Shouldn't be that big of a deal.
That being said, the amount of challenges that forced me to actually survive the match really burned me out.
When I play to survive, i get too competetive and not escaping gets me amgry. Normally i play to have fun. Help my teammates and just have an easy game. I put the game up until tuesday as even playing killer just didn't excite me.
I'll be back though, I'm too addicted lol

The rift was primarily made to give people something to put effort into. If it was ridiculously easy to complete, it wouldn't be much different than daily rituals. It's supposed to be a challenge.

I still stuck at tier 20 or so.. wanted the elephant outfit for clown but.. i guess that's not happening..
*cries in the corner*

How about adding BP and shards into the Rift...

No problem. Thanks for the clarification. That makes sense. I try to do the killer ones first because the insta queue. But like I said, some are above my skill level. You also come across ones that are worded incorrectly and waste a few matches before you can figure out #########.

I very much agree. I've seen way worse passes for sure.

i thought it was said that rift cosmetics were exclusive?
EDIT; nevermind i was mistaken, ignore please :)

I would assume so. It should just go to the compendium like the first Tome. So you can still do the challenges and get the BP and finish the level to get the items. I'm guessing you mean the Iridescent Primus Coin? I did part of Tome 1 from the Compendium while I was waiting for level 4 and was able to get the inner eye thing still. So should be cool. They started this second Rift immediately after the first,so I'm just assuming they'll make a third one and keep it up.

Thanks fam. Those tome charms are my favorite and tbh I have the cosmetics I like for my Dwight and killers so I'm low key really into those charms and if I have to work or something I was worried I would miss out.
Rift may not be casual friendly, but the tome sure is!

I only play survivor now so the grind is huge for me. I am level 57, only doing survivor challenges and I will probably finish it but I played A LOT.

No problem. Yeah, you have all the time in the world if that's what you are looking for lol. I just get sad I'm getting stuff for characters I don't have. I just came back to the game a little over a month ago after like a year break. I used to be on PC but MB went and my graphics card is crap. So now I'm on PS4 where I started, and have 0 of the DLC chapters. I do enjoy some of the outfits and charms though. And I like how you could potentially earn your cash back. I'm at $5 out of the $10 I spent. Most other ones do that but have hundreds of levels so you have no hope of getting it back lol. Extra BP isn't going to hurt for the new chapter. I got like 10,000 shards in a few weeks so I can buy the killer. Mainly from doing rift challenges. There not too much of a downside. A single outfit can cost $10.

I'm also fine with it. It would be boring for quite a huge number of players if it was done too quickly. What drimmalor said is also important, what you get from it would be quite expensive if you get it just in the shop, so it shouldn't be too easy to get. And as always: It is just about cosmetics. Nothing bad about it if you don't get it. The fluff and BP from the archives can be done at any time
