Can we PLEASE fix Deathslinger's terror radius/music?
IDK if it's his music that drowns out his terror radius and is simultaneously extremely quiet compared to everyone else. I literally have my sound on 200 and still can't hear him until he's right up on me.
I honestly can't hear his heart beat most of the time because of his music and his music is low asf but takes over everything.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

I've only been playing him so I can't say. However I have seen survivors complaining about how small is terror radius is.

Unique terror radius audio is also crappy with doctor. They really should make the TR consistent and let the chase music be unique. It's annoying as hell to have to learn a whole new TR system for individual killers when they could easily be made uniform.

Yeah I initially thought everyone was running monitor and abuse on him but nope. Finally ran into one with monitor and abuse and i literally heard nothing while looking at him from behind a gen.
I enjoy the music but I wish it was tuned correctly. I REALLY hope they put in Legion's custom music in their chase soon.

I was thinking the same thing when I was doing Adept Zarina. Suddenly he would be right on top of me or shooting at me without any indication he was close.

I've been saying this since the PTB.

I mean, I would hope so, you are a big-brained Meg

Thank you.
Sucks GalaxyBrainMegMain was taken.

What about 200IQMeg?

The moment i hear the music is the chase music already. Maybe because he's too tall and i already started running the moment he sees me lol.
2 -
Pretty much. One one side I'm getting chase maxed so easily playing against him that I'm bringing Blodness offerings. On the other hand I'm getting chased maxed too easily even when I'm not in one

His terror radius is intentionally small (and so the music is quiet) because he's supposed to be a semi-stealthy killer.
2 -
Understandable, but it's still very quiet. There were times I could barely hear it over the generator I'd be working on, and by the time I realised he was coming, I have a harpoon in my back. It just needs to be boosted a little more to be able to actually hear it better.

He's a big hulking 7 foot tall cowboy. Just use your eyes?
You been breaking his totems? Because ya'll seem to be Oblivious.
1 -
can shoot you before you listen to the music

You guys know he has an add-on that lowers his TR when he has his gun raised. And personally I run that with Monitor. I was told his TR with that is about the size of a pallet.
2 -
The Deathslinger only has a 24 meter TR at base. (He is a 110% speed killer.) With Monitor and Abuse that's a 16 meter TR outside of a chase. His gun's max range is 15 meters.

I can semi-confirm this is true. I've watched chases from by palettes happen in front of me and I couldn't hear his terror radius or it'd hear it in spurts. It's just so nuts because my spine chill can be going off HARD with me looking at him or being in a chase with him right behind me and I could still barely heart a heartbeat/music.

tbf I think all the killers terror radius be made to be as small/quiet as Deathslingers, actually bring some scare tactic back to the killers.

I am sleep deprived, and this thread just made my caffeine addled brain realize that he's essentially the Undertaker. He's a seven foot tall undead guy with a gunslinger theme who can appear out of no where. Anyhow, that's my useless contribution. Thank you all for helping me arrive at that conclusion.
Also the harpoon gun's max range is 18 meters, not 15. 15 meters is to get the exposed effect from the ultra rare add on to proc.

Unlike other killers who's terror radius is 32 meters, Deathslinger has a smaller terror radius, and to capitalize on this, killers may use Monitor and Abuse to make his terror radius tiny.

Glad others have noticed this, too. He just comes out of nowhere and you never hear him coming until he's right on top of you. He could teach Michael and Ghostface a thing or two about stealth.
2 -
Tbh I compare his terror radius with the one of huntress. Ofc 110 movement killers should have a smaller tr, but not if they have a long range ability imo. The only indicator that he is close to you is just nothing. He is not a stealth killer.

Honestly, I usually see deathslinger before I hear his terror radius. He’s one of those Killers were you have to ignore his music because its misleading and use your eyes.
Which is unfortunate in jungle gyms where your LOS is cut off, but he’s still no worse than Ghost Face or Pig

I love his TR music and how quiet it is. It makes him scarier.

I don't know about you but I haven't had any issues so far. It's just that Deathslinger has a much smaller terror radius than you would expect at 24 meters. If they're using TR reducing perks you can expect he'd be comparable to a Myers. Except with a gun. With a spear. That pulls you towards him.
Because seeing a 7 foot tall cowboy wearing brown clothes (with perks that drastically reduce his terror radius) moving around in 8 foot tall corn of similar color is easy. Okbuddy.

Look I know BVHR is lacking on a few accessibility options, but I don't think they can do much if you're legally blind.

I realize you probably thought that was very clever but sight and hearing are two different senses. Just for future reference

His range is 18 meters actually, so with monitor he can shoot you from outside his tr.

And human beings as animals have adapted defenses to deter predators, like peripheral vision. It will alert you by percieving environmental changes and direct your attention towards it allowing you to react to external stimuli.
Unless they affixed skillchecks to the generator itself, you have zero reason not to occasionally look around.
Also Myers has been in the game for a few years, so there's no excuse at this point.
0 -
Yeah Myers can't hit you from 18 meters away and reel you in, btw

His terror radius is almost nonexistent

But he can mori you while standing after never being hooked. Which people are ok with?

Pros and cons of Deathslinger.
Pros:
Has a ranged weapon
Has a 24m TR
Can Pull survivors out of advantageous spots and loops
Has add-ons to help him secure a hit via lowering his TR, Reloading faster
Quick draw and firing of his weapon
Cons:
Towering height comparable to Plague
4.4ms (110%) Movement Speed
Limited 18m range for weapon
Weapon cannot down with ranged attack, Survivors must be reeled in first for the strike
Weapon inflicts Deep Wound Status Effect and Timer upon Chain breaking
Chain break stuns Deathslinger for 4 seconds
Loud Foot Stomps
Loud Weapon giving global noise notification, and Scares crows within his TR giving survivors visible confirmation of his whereabouts
Conclusion:
The reason his TR is small, and his music is subtle is that, Unlike Huntress, His weapon has a lot of drawbacks in damage and especially in its limited range. Add in the Fact that he's crazy tall, Moves at the same speed as Huntress, and has global Audio notifications for when he's using his weapon, and what you get is a killer that clearly wouldn't be able to get close enough to survivors at all if his TR and Music were at the standard size of 32m, or loudness of Demogorgon's, Oni's or Doctor's. An example of another killer with a Limited ranged attack that benefits more when their TR is lowered to 24m by M&A: Plague. Like Plague, he moves slower while charging/aiming down the sights, Unlike Plague however, Deathslinger is still limited by his slower than average movement speed, and only gets one precision shot before he has to spend even more time slowing down to reel in and strike a survivor, or reload. His Semi-Stealth approach is necessary for his power to be useful, otherwise every time survivors heard him coming, they'd locate him immediately due to his size, and stealth or run away. As it stands currently, Large and open maps like Crotus Prenns Disturbed ward, Blood Lodge, Ironworks of misery, and the Red forest maps are his bane as they allow survivors ample viewing distance of him with little to no LoS blockers, and he can't traverse them fast enough to apply adequate gen pressure.
His TR and Music are intentionally made small and quiet so that he can actually get close enough to be a threat, otherwise he literally would be the worst/most easy to avoid killer in the game with a laughably worthless ability.
