So Deathslinger and pallets
So before everyone comes in here and says, DEATHSLINGER SHOULD BE ABLE TO DRAG PEOPLE ACROSS PALLETS, I want to let you know I disagree, at least to some extent. There is a specific scenario that has occured in quite a few times in my nearly 15 hours of playing just deathslinger that makes me want to ask the devs to look into it.
Starting off, Devs, you did an amazing job with the killer, I love him. I am honestly thinking about maining him. I think he is fun and has a cool mechanic. But I guess I should get to my point.
Deathslinger has a design flaw that makes at least me feel like the game is punishing me for something I did right. That is hitting players as they vault a pallet (or even more specifically the rear bus window on Autohaven Wreckers). Basically when this very specific scenario happens, I feel as though I am punished by the game because my options are as follows. Hold there until the chain breaks (or cause it to break myself) suffering a 4 second penalty or Break the chain myself, allowing the survivor to get away uninjured.
To be clear, if the survivor dropped the pallet or if another survivor dropped the pallet, or even if I shot them after they vaulted the pallet, that is the survivor outplaying me, they should be able to either break the chain or get away uninjured. I am specifically talking about when I hit them as they vault, in this very specific case, I believe they should be pulled back towards me. Because in this case, the survivor was either playing very greedy with their loop or they made a mistake not me.
If you want an idea of what I am talking about, play a game on Autohaven Wreckers with the rear bus window open and hit the survivor. They will vault the window and you'll have to decide to break the chain yourself or let it break.
To be fair, even if you have to make it so it counts as a miss, at least then I won't realize the game is screwing me over.

That's why you need to decide whether you should shoot or save it for a different part of the loop.
Its frustrating, I know, but only use it if you know that if you hit the survivor, you'll hit them.

My point is that I am hitting them, the game is just still giving them the vault.

Sometimes they still throw down pallet after you hit them
And i don't understand the 4 sec stun. You did good job on hitting them, only can't reel them in, and you're punished with 4 sec stun. That stun gives a lot of distance to survivors (110% + reload)

He should be able to pull them over vaults because it fits with common sense physics

I do agree that if a survivor is tagged mid vault it should stop the animation. Or even if they are hit on the first half of the animation.

If you harpoon someone through the heart they would be dead. That is common sense physics but it wouldn't be very balanced. This is a conversation about game mechanics and balance.

I had deathslinger pull me through a pallet the other day, didn't feel fun or fair & it would completely remove any counter to him, pallets & vaults are pretty much the only defense survivors have that are consistent, it's why old nurse was such a problem, she ignores those defenses, and it would be a problem if death slinger ignored them too.

I've found that in a lot a cases you can shoot a survivor on the other side of a dropped pallet and maneuver your way around the loop, lunging before the chain breaks to close the gap. Obviously that doesn't work for super safe pallets, but don't underestimate the full lunge distance after the chain. That being said, it still never feels good when you shoot a survivor at the beginning of a vault only for them to continue vaulting.

Latency, dedicated server, or whatever BHVR what’s to chalk it up to now, has caused me and others to actually hook someone BEFORE they get to the window or downed pallet and then they still take 2 more steps and vault...

If he use his harpoon to get you injure he either have to chase you at 110% or reload and then chase you until he can fire again, it's worst than spirit or huntress.

One problem I have with Deathslinger is that at some rare occasions, right when I hit a survivors with my gun, they start vaulting the pallet they are at. I feel like hitting a survivor with your gun right as they start vaulting the pallet, the animation should be canceled.
However, as soon as a survivor is sliding over the pallet, no matter what half of the pallet they are at when your shot connects, I think the survivor shouldn't be dragged off the ballet and back to you. I personally think that's fine the way it is right now.
