Proposed nerf to grass and corn
Maybe add a trample mechanic which crushes the corn, bushes, and high grass when a killer walks and a survivor runs on it. This way by endgame, survivors can't just crouch right next to the killer and get away. The amount of lost matches I've had because of the corn or blendable brush is so unecessary. This way we can nerf the blendettes and make the farms more tolerable for killers

or can we please just rework corn maps. corn blindness is real for killer and as survivor its boring to have basically the entire map a deadzone 😔

I have to admit this is a great idea which probably means that whilst this would happen in our realm i'd guess in the fog that some computer memory array variable couldn't remember what corn had been crushed... a poor excuse but one that could and should be addressed.

You do realize that corn maps are the most open maps in the game, right? If they got rid of the visibility issues, these maps would be so blatantly killer sided that the whining would be unstoppable.

Nobody is gonna spend their time getting rid of all the corn. It would be spread out based on chases and force survivors to rely on skill more than just corn on the map

All coldwind farm variants are huge maps and some of them have god loops like torment creek and rancid abattoir. Counting with that and the other loops and pallets i think is already enough enviroment advantage dont you think?
i like the idea he propose. Coldwind farm is one of the most survivor sided maps. It needs changes.

No. Stealth is hard enough as it is already with the amount of aura reading perks. I can see through the corn just fine it's really not that hard. You do realise that one of the main aspects of the game is hiding right? Or do you just want to make an already underused tactic harder so all you see are looping survivors in all your games.

Most experienced killers and myself already have an easy enough time finding survivors through corn thanks to practice. There's an obvious difference between farm maps and a number of other maps with certain killers (Hillbilly, Huntress, Deathslinger, Demogorgon, basically anything with line of sight range). Just because y'all struggle with corn doesn't mean it can't be overcome. If it was honestly open fields, it would be intensely easy mode for killers.

That's why you would replace most of the corn with filler tiles such as LTs and / or just Zs. Perhaps have a rare God loop with a breakable wall that makes it useless. 😁
We're not just going to get rid of the corn without giving something back to the survivors, if that's what you're thinking.

I want to remember this community. An ancient member of those forums called @GrootDude once said wise words: "Burn the corn!"

That's pretty much what was suggested. And what you're suggesting is actually pretty much the exact opposite. Jungle gyms everywhere corn currently is would be completely survivor sided. Coldwind Farms are actually some of the less problematic maps currently in the game. Changing them before the rest of the maps seems rather inefficient.

I don't think maps are the problem, most maps are fine in my opinion.
The problem I see is how powerful tiles can be chained together to create semi-infinites where it takes hand-holding mechanics (Entity Blockers and Bloodlust) to catch the survivor. Most maps have identical tiles, such as Jungle Gyms and shack. If you rework any map that has tiles identical to other maps, you're basically reworking other maps as well.
Then you have maps like Iron Works of Misery with the God Window. I don't think, outside of making the map more pretty, that map needs a rework because of a few OP tiles, just add a few breakable near the God Window to fix it. This saves the developers more resources and time that can be better used to handle generator speeds, a common community complaint.
Removing corn and replacing say, 50% of them with weak tiles wouldn't be a bad idea. If you're so worried this would make the map survivor side, we can instead use unsafe pallet loops to add more cream to the deal. 😁

Always thought, after the "Oblivious" and "Undetectable" status's where added that they should add this to the corn. Maybe not to such the extreme that is when you get those effects now, but basically giving killers a slight advantage to the corn somewhat like the survivors get. For example no red-stain + smaller terror radius. Not granting the killer a super buff, but something.
That or make survivors hiding the corn slightly easier to find by having the corn there near or on more askew. But yeah the corn's not the big problem its more the combination of close loops on large maps. Almost all the loops are on the outside which places them all closely together.

You know how useless the Trapper would be if you could trample grass?
Furthermore, why are we punishing stealth?
I could see this being a perk. Not a base mechanic.

I doubt the devs would be capable of programming that into the game, though I like the idea. Playing short killers on corn maps is disgusting.

Yeah, i can't see anything on corn maps (i'm colorblind), even tho i struggle on normal maps, on corn its the worst. I can't see blood and scratchmarks because they are red and on corn maps everything is yellow, so the blood and the marks are perfectly hidden. If you run into the corn, well, you won the chase, i can't see you anymore

You could try getting good headphones and cranking up the volume, maybe run Stridor as well. That way you could track survivors with your ears to make up for your colorblindness.

The maps would still have the same huge amount of insanely safe pallets though, so they wouldn't turn out that bad. But yeah, Fractured Cowshed and Rotten Fields in particular would have way too much space with nothing in it to be balanced.
They just need to be reworked completely. I think the cornfield is fine, stealth options is always a good thing, the maps just needs way less safe pallets and way more mindgameable ones.

The farm maps are some of the most problematic in the game, and it's not because of the corn.

Nah I like the idea of Rotten fields becoming one giant open field!

Yup. Remove corn completely. Make it an empty white space. Put rotating lights on survivors heads and lock them in place for the first 10 minutes of the game, unable to move, lets say with a nail through one foot so they start off injured already when the nail gets off....

Remove some of corn and add some walls

There is so much corn on those maps by the time most of it's gone the game will be over

Nonsense. I don’t think you realize how important it is to have many different unique ways of hiding from a killer when getting caught can be so costly. With pink Mori’s and hook camping going on I think there needs to be tall bushes, lockers, maybe hatches or just in general plenty of good hiding for survivors. Why should you be able to see everyone and mow them down? Evasion and stealth has always been a strong tactic in most survival games. Last I checked that’s what this is, is it not?

The map would look so good with burning/burnt corn :P

The game needs much more bushes to hide in, cause most bushes are far too small to even attempt to hide. The game lost most of its hide and seek elements, which is pretty bad. This said the corn is quite useless for hiding.

*looks at new map which each bush is big enough to hide in*

You should take a better look at the shape of the bushes. There are just a few where you can really hide in. And most characters arent even able to hide in these.

Just give us the BHVR "test" map with grey polygons and all.

sure lets get rid of corn maps; I assume we're algo getting rid of hillbilly unlimited ability since thats why those maps were created
