There are pictures with 4 rank 5 vs a level 15 killer so this is kinda nice matchmaking compared to other rounds

Happens all the time when i try to play killer. Oh hey red and purple rank survivors, when i am no where near that rank just yet. Of course with how long match making can be at times for killer. I am normally thankful for the game. That and if the high ranks are skill, give me more of a chance to learn and improve. Of course i doubt everyone will see it that way and would rather play people closer to their own rank or should i say skill level. Which is fair and reasonable, since i'm sure most would like to have a chance at winning and not be totally destroy the first time they play the game [unless they are a dark soul player] , when they are still getting the hang of things and learning the ropes.

I had a match yesterday where I was rank 12 and I was being bulled by four SWF red ranks with three flashlights and a toolbox. Love this game sometimes. 👍️

This is true but this was the first killer game where I was severely bullied like that. This was also the match I was trying to get a Doctor Challenge done. Matchmaking is so broken that it's not even funny anymore.

If this is the first time I don’t recommend going further with killer because games where you feel useless and are forced to wait for survivors to make mistakes are so common at red ranks

Oh believe me, I do know this. Quite frankly, I prefer to stay in lower ranks so I don't have to deal with that crap. A few months ago, I wanted to be a red rank killer but after seeing people on the forums talking about it and watching my favorite streamers/youtubers dealing with it and I'm like "Nope, nevermind. Forget it."
I'm not going to lie, I can be a pretty decent killer and get a 4k almost every game but as I get just a teeny bit higher *boom* red rank bullies.

Lol... I had this one today while solo queuing. Luckily a survivor dc'd during the loading screen, but how does a red rank survivor get matched with green and yellows?

So, let me ask this question: What happens when there simply aren't enough 'similar' ranks waiting to play? This kind of matchup WILL happen occasionally, right? I wait a few mins. lately when trying to play killer - it seems that when I wait that long I can expect pairing with much better ranks than I'm currently at.

It is not just a matchmaking problem, a lot of killers quit after ruin nerf so lower rank killers will have some high rank survivors

I can't wait for the fix. It's getting reaaaallly old. If someone puts in the time to get to red ranks, they shouldn't be constantly matched up with teammates well below their experience level. It's been very frustrating.

Were you in a swf? I am a rank 4 and in my swfs we have a rank 16 with us and often see killers in the mid-teens. If you are all solos...guess luck I guess.

Two points.
One - DbD matchmaking is objectively terrible. How do you expect people to trust you guys this time around, when the dev team has done such a bad job so far?
Two - This is a hidden mmr system. It basically allows the devs to say they fixed it without doing anything. We can't see our ranks, so we don't know if it's fixed. Essentially, you're just eliminating the ability of people to criticize you. How do you grapple with legitimate concerns like this, especially considering how inconsistent certain scoring events are already?

Why do you need to see the MMR to judge the new matchmaking system? If as a new killer you constantly get stomped on by survivors getting only 1-2 hooks per game, or in 90% of your survivor matches the killer gets his 4k before two gens are done, the system is so obviously not working that I don't need to see the MMR to tell there's something wrong.
If you can't tell at the end of the match whether it was a fair and fun and thrilling game without seeing ranks/MMR value you maybe should start developing that skill.
I have had a good number of games with rank-wise perfect matchmaking where the skill levels were so insanely different that it just wasn't fun. But those matches are no reason to question a ranking system because some numbers did match?

Well would you rather wait forever for a lobby? 🤣 And they said they were going to implement (I don't know when) a point system, that was actually based off the ranks of you and the killer. So, in your situation, with their system, if you won you would get a little points, but if you lost you'd lose more because you're a higher rank. And if the killer was a lower rank than you, if you lost you'd lose less points, and if you won you'd get more points.

I was in a duo with a friend (we are both red ranks) and we got matched with a Rank 17 and 19 survivor and a Rank 12 killer....matchmaking is perfect by the way.

Matchmaking is beyond bad now. Its boring. Im red rank and I get paired with survivors who dont do generators and cant loop. I play 2-3 games, get disappointed and turn on another game. Make survivors compete against each other. Dead survivors or who dont do generators must not uprank.

on their explanation for the new ranking system they said that matching skill level takes least priority so the new system wont mean you get paired with killers with much lower skill level less itll just mean you dont get rewarded as much for those matches

Ok i just got back to dbd from a long break during wich they released 3 dlcs and thought about playing killer to see how much do i have left of my skill.
A rank 20 got matched against: ranks 8,7,19 and 16

Monto, Noob_3, and Puppers (I believe) all rank 1’s went against a rank 20 trapper. I think the random was also a rank 1. Anyway r.i.p. that trapper and I’m hoping this new system actually makes it fair. If it’s coming.

Neither side should have this, it wouldn't be fun for four rank 20 survivors to go against a rank 1 Spirit with good perks and addons... new players from BOTH sides should have some protection from bullying

I don't even understand how this game not free to play, imagine that if someone pays real money and as a beginner gets this matchmaking bugs etc etc. Anyway this amount of bugs that still existing for months or even years..... and BHVR still want us to pay for the DLC's one by one if we want to try them (splinters are gone btw).
