voice proximity!
hello! i'd like to discuss an in-game function i think would be a really fun addition to the game. before i get started, i am aware this function would have it's ups and downs, so allow me to explain my point of view. i know we are already able to use voice coms on different platforms, whether it be discord, something like instagram maybe, or just the party option on your console of choice, but i was thinking it could be really fun if you want to solo queue, but also want some sort of communication within the game without having to go through the trouble of getting through to them, or just meet new survivors! i know this can also come with a lot of toxicity, as well... to counter this, i believe there should be a mute option for all survivors as well as the killer. some people could abuse this privilage by making weird noises or blaring music into their mic-- so a mute option would be nice, in, like, the pause menu. i know a lot of people don't support this, but i wanted to bring it back up, you know? i hope it could be reconsidered with some negotiation. i, personally, think it would be really fun and cool to have. if you've made it this far, thank you for listening and i hope you might consider my view on this function. let me know how you feel about this, but please be reasonable and try not to be rude. again, thank you! <3

this might actually be a good idea. i don't see a problem there, it could help solo players a lot. and yes, an option to mute would be a must

The argument against this is ALWAYS "You think there is toxicity now..." and for good reason but yes... mute the scumbags. I think one of the best features of F13 was prox chat. You could do funny voice, banter with people, and it made for a WAY more fun atmosphere.

I rather not, there’s a mixture of languages out there and we won’t understand each other at all. Example in the US server it could be a mixture of English, French and Spanish. In Europe it can be English, German, Spanish, French, Italian etc.

I do like the idea, but how would you indirectly, or directly, buff killers to compensate? Remember, part of what makes a killer strong, or should, is the lack of communication on the survivors part.

that's completely understandable, and i totally passed that unintentionally! thank you for bringing that to mind, as it could be an issue... i'm not sure how they'd counter that, but there's gotta be a way around it somehow, potentially?

i appreciate your point of view! but keep in mind-- it is a cooperative game, and we already have swf groups, but also solo queuers who have a hard time communicating when it comes to little things. it would just be in proximity anyways, and everyone could have a mute option. perhaps an option to just completely turn off voice proximity on your end.

thank you so much! i'm glad to see such positive responses on this idea, and there's plenty of solo players that are fine without communication, but sometimes there's one little thing they can't express due to only having 2 simple emotes. i just think it'd be really fun in general, cause lately i really feel like the game has been lacking joy. it's mostly toxic all the time. :(

that's my point entirely! i feel like the game has really been lacking a lot of joy lately, because it's mainly all toxic, and really upsetting. perhaps this would even allow survivor mains and killer mains to actually learn how to have fun playing together instead of just saying, "gg" or messaging one another afterwards because the killer was camping/tunneling, or the survivor(s) were gen rushing, etc.

New 200 IQ spirit strat: play the phasing sound over your mic while you're not actually phasing.

It’s a tricky one, maybe a few hud changes perhaps? Like a red glow around the white icons to indicate someone is within the killer’s terror radius (Don’t know if that gives too much info)? More hand gestures?

Yeah. Its fun, mute would need to be option, but youd have to consider survs who will run around, making love to their mic, and exposing their whole team

I would mute this 100% of the time, then I would just get salty kids sending me messages to not be muted or not realize I'm muted and troll me because they don't like that I'm not answering them.
I also don't need to hear constant cry baby players screaming, cursing, spewing racial slurs, eating chips, heavy breathing as they eat the mic, have a domestic argument with their spouse/GF/BF, blare music, have 100 fans blowing on them or.....I think you get my point.
So again I say No no no no no. I think this is the one time I truly stand by BHVR's idea of never wanting voice chat in any capacity.
