Where the Hell is the hatch???

Seems to me every time I look for the hatch, it's not there... Only once all generators are powered or there is one survivor left. Very rarely do I ever find a hatch on the map after set amount of encounters done to spawn it. I can't tell you how many times I bring a skeleton key and the hatch is not even on the map, is this a bug still or am I really that bad at finding this thing because it seems to never be there unless a very specific scenario is met first.

    Hatch requires the number of generators completed to be more than the number of survivors alive, or only one survivor alive, before it even spawns.

    At that point, though, it's just luck finding it as you can't use sound to locate it. I've come across it plenty of times while it's closed, but there's other times where it's nowhere to be found (forgetting to check one place, or missing it entirely)

    You can use Left Behind if ya want. It helps if you are the last one standing or after everyone leaves. When you are the last Survivor remaining in the Trial, the Aura of the Hatch is revealed to you within a range of 24/28/32 metres

    Yea, hatch should always be on map every game.

    It just won’t be visible until you have one more gen than there are survivors alive. So, for 4 survivors, you have to have 5 gens done to see it; for 3 survivors, 4 gens; and so on

    Hunting it down is just the tricky part since it’s kinda just luck to hope to stumble upon it. Depending on the map, it can spawn in some really odd locations

    Not saying all maps, and a dev can prove me wrong, but I find that a lot of the time, they are in some sort of proximity to a door. It happens on a lot of maps, but occasionally it'll be out in the middle of nowhere.


    Just don't hug a wall while you look for it and you'll be sweet.

    ...huh, you learn something new every day.

    I assumed there was some kind of criteria for it spawning since I never see it at the beginning of the game but it's neat to actually find out what the criteria is.

    There was one game where 2dc'd I killed one and downed the last. Picked her up and she rode my shoulder for 10 minutes looking for the hatch. Never found it. Have her one more gen. Sent an apology messegeand killed her. That hatch was not there at all.
