Is there a single killer that is universally liked?
Before I get into the discussion, just play whoever you want. I am just curious about it...
When it comes to survivors, I've played quite a few games as killer, and watched much more on youtube. How often do you run into:
"Ugh, x killer is OP"
"X killer is so unfunny to play against"
"Ugh, x killer, zzzzzzz"
"You playing x killer is why the community sucks"
" x killer should be deleted "
My personal one is from a toxic friend of mine (I do not condone their actions) who hates legion still, and says "I wont forgive them for what they did". Its the same person who said they would rather have no killers in a game and have a gen repairing simulator.
So, my question is: is there a single killer in this game that no one or very few people actually hate?

No. I've received complaints or read complaints about every single killer throughout my time playing the game. I've read recent posts saying Pig of all killers needs a rework. And even if you play killers like Trapper that are easy for survivors to face, every once in a while they'll complain about the fact that you used add ons. The goal posts will always move. People should play whoever they want.

I feel, among killers, Pig gets the most leeway when it comes to survivor hate and complaining. She isn’t too overpowered, her kit forces a new objective that is ‘different’ then the same old same old, and she has some cute memes like boop the snoot.

Liked? No. Especially when there are always going to be certain elements within the community that bring down the reputation of others.
Pig is a perfect example. Complete fools will tunnel out trapped survivors. These players give the rest a bad name, worse still is that this bad choice of playstyle is actually rewarded.
I've had people message me and say how nice it was to play against my Pig since I don't tunnel in the slightest, and I don't because I can sympathise with survivors, and it's not an optimal way to play.
And it's not that Piggy needs a rework, but her ADD-ONS do. Her power needs some small QoL buffa and changes. Faster crouch walking, moving the roar back to the start of the dash, maybe making her TR 28m again, activating traps during EGC.........

I like goin against a demogorgon, not many of them around is probably why i don't mind when i go up against one

I would love to meet this piggy! So many just straight tunnel! Drives me crazy, like why even give me the party hat if your just going tunnel?

It wouldn't make sense for a Piggy to tunnel a trapped survivor because surely the trap would explode and kill the survivor quicker when you're not chasing them (as chasing them disables the trap timer). Although I have been tunnelled by a piggy before, it still confuses me to this day.

scrap it completely for something new, between how they designed it and the wonderful dedicated servers, no amount of trying will make it feel fair or accurate
you either cant reveal him when looking right at him, or do it without even having him on screen

I highly doubt it. Everyone has their own prefernces of what they think is fun. I can't see any killer being liked by everyone.
If I had to guess the killer who the least people don't enjoy, I would say it's Demogorgon. I only see people say how they enjoy going against him.

On topic, I don't think there is any one killer that is universally liked. There don't seem to be many people that have it out for Demogorgon or Pig, but there's always an exception to every rule.

She literally has anti tunnel and anti gen built into her and people still tunnel to death. Makes no sense.

No one has it out for them though because they usually have the lowest kill rate. Hell I hardly see them played but when I do, they're either really really good or just mediocre at at.

As a former Myers main i get easily annoyed by my teammates who just feed him his power.

I don't think that's true - Pig doesn't have anywhere close to the lowest kill rate. In fact, according to the data from last November, she's in at least the top seven across all ranks, and top five at red ranks. Plus, you have killers like Clown with relatively low kill rates who a lot of people really dislike. I don't see much of a correlation there at all.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone complain about Demo, but I’ve seen complaints about literally every other killer. Which makes sense since it’s all just down to personal preference.

I'm chuckling at how many people are using revisionist history to claim no one has ever hated on Demogorgon.
When he first came out, people RAGED to no end about shred's distance and quick charge. People complained about his portal being invisible until he uses them, they complained about him being able to keep STBFL stacks by hitting the obsession with shred instead of basic attacks.
By the way that last one is still true and I HIGHLY recommend it. You get to basically spend the entire game with 40% faster recovery on your M1, so now with M1, recover, shred you end chases SO fast.
Now once survivors calmed down a bit and realized that shred can be juked, and that all they had to do was drop the pallet early, the rage subsided, and now he's the cute doggo everyone thinks he is now.
TL:DR Every killer has gotten hate, at the very least when they were new and different, just because they aren't hated now is not an indicator of the original incoherent rage that accompanied them.

But yeah, Demo and Wraith would likely be my two. Super straightforward killers that no one ever seems to think are unfair. Pig has RNG traps that get annoying, so I don't think I'd include her.

it's just that people have different opinions so it seems like no killer is liked. one doesn't like oni, one doesn't like spirit etc. i personally hate doctor and freddy. but i am happy to see Michael and demo players. everyone between is pretty much fine, though it's not nice to face iri huntress or other killer with op add ons.

I don't think I've seen someone talk bad about demo since like a month after his launch, most of the community seems to agree that everything about him is fun and balanced, he has a good amount of counter play, his score and the noises he makes are incredible, and both playing as and against him is really fun. I was a Myers main since the week Myers launched, and never thought a killer would come out that would be good enough to drag me away from him, Halloween is one of my favorite movies of all time, and when they announced demo I didn't think much of it, I had never seen Stranger Things, so I watched a couple episodes, which then turned into a 3 day binge of the entire series. It is now my favorite show to date, and I play Demo more than any other killer in the game. He is simple but has a lot of strategy and depth to him, and I think he is one of the more balanced killers in the game.

Definitely Demo. His Shred hitboxes can be the most bullshit ever but aside from that he's one of the most balanced Killers in the game. He also has cool custom music.

Liked? No. That's pretty much impossible. Every person has the killers they don't enjoy facing. I think it generally has nothing to do with the killers strength either. I personally can't stand Plague, but enjoy Billy.

Shape is pretty popular among both killers and survivors. Demogorgon seems to be a favorite for survivors but is less popular among killers.

You don't care about an RBT kill because that survivor will never touch a gen if they're smart. You have basically removed them from the match for a time.

No killer is universally liked. But there are some you rarely see complaints about and most seem to enjoy. Myers is definitely one.

Yeah, but if you have all 4 survivors still alive, and one has an RBT, then that trapped surv will try to remove the box first. They will not touch a generator and generally won't heal.
There are now only 3 survs that you have to worry about touching your gens.

That's my point, that one survivor with a RBT is most at risk because of the other 3 survivors potentially completing generators. Those other 3 survivors are practically killing that survivor quicker.

No they're not. I dunno if it's because I've severely dropped rank lately, or what's going on with the survivors, but they never pop a generator.
And even if they did, between the time between getting off hook and anyone sorting through a generator, they have plenty of time to get it off. The standard RBT takes 2:30 to activate, which is pretty long. 2:00 with Tampered Timer, and pauses while in a chase regardless.
There have been 2 situations that I've had an RBT kill: brown ranks who don't understand her power and a box being in the middle of a 3-gen patrol path.

While there will always be a survivor that will complain about every killer, I'd say that Myers is the most universally liked. He isn't extremely overpowered or underpowered, which makes him fun to play against and as.

Demo is probably the most universally liked killer. There are definitely people who dislike him but I think most people love him or at the very least don't hate him.
Myers is also liked a lot but I've also seen plenty of people complain about his addons.
It's very rare to see someone complain about Demo though and most of the complaints I have seen are more about the person playing him and not the killer itself.

Myers with normal add ons strikes me as one of the most balanced killers around.
I never see complaints about him unless it’s in regards to his mirror or tombstone add ons.
He’s strong enough to stand a real chance against most survivors, Mindgame-able enough to survive against, requires strategy from both sides, and brings a serious “creep factor” to the match!
