BHVR changed matchmaking without giving any notice

Since the last patch I am getting quicker lobbies at the expense of rainbow coloured lobbies.

I'm currently at red rank survivor and this morning I am constantly getting quick lobbies but with yellow and green survivors. It is just frustrating getting one hooked or getting rescued on the second phase without the killer camping... BHVR what the hell are you doing????

    They didn't change the matchmaking. It's always been bad. It's just especially bad this morning because server errors are preventing people from SWFs

    This has been happening for months. It started before Christmas break.

    There have been an endless stream of "Matchmaking broken" / "Proof matchmaking is totally balanced" / "Totally fair match up" threads since then.

    BHVR explained way back in December that they know matchmaking is bad so before they went on break they "unlocked" it, or whatever, so rank didn't really determine who you get matched with. They were supposed to revert it after break, and I think they did for a little while, but that was for like a week or two if at all.

    Survivor lobbies are a little quicker lately, while Killers are taking slightly longer, because people are trying out the new Killer. Its coming near the end of this though, soon it'll go back to normal.

    Swf is broken right now which means less survivors playing. Since there are less survivors playing finding a survivor match is just about instantaneous and since there are less survivors right now it's going to pull from all ranks to make lobbies. This is also why killer ques are horrendous right now

    They did tell us they will be rolling out hidden matchmaking a while ago.

    Ranks are just for your viewing pleasure and have nothing to do with actually matchmaking.

    Perhaps this is just to do with the PS4 but only since the last patch did I notice lobbies become multi-coloured which used to be the case.

    This morning is the worst I have seen, match after match I am playing with yellow and green ranks!

    I understand people saying it has always been like this but seriously, this morning I wonder whether they are setting things up with MMR and the new hidden rank system.

    Ah thanks, would also explain the theory on it being easier to rank up with SWF and why I aren't getting any red rank survivors.
