Is farming a bannable offense?
I know that being AFK is, but what about farming? I'm sick of the amount of farmers I see in my games, it's really boring.

Tbh farming i dont really see as being bad in a sense, yes it can be annoying but the amount of time its saved me from the archives missions and bloodpoint collection i actually find it pretty justified.
But i can see how you may find getting multiple people wanting to farm to be an annoyance as it just ruins the match so take it how it is but just think the extra bp can just help you with your next match ;)

I mean, in the report menu it says that farming is reportable but I doubt they would actually ban for it. I almost never run into farming killers.

You won't be banned for farming alone as long as everyone wants to participate, however forcing survivors to farm against their will can be considered griefing. For example, sandbagging a survivor that doesn't want to farm so they get hooked can fall under griefing.

The devs have said that the killer gets final say in how the game is run as long as they donβt do anything to intentionally trap or force survivors to stay in the game

There have been many times where I play with potatoes who have no awareness and they run straight to the killer (suprising a rank 1 survivor).
Therefore, can I get banned if a survivor gets themselves farmed? Just curious since to the ACMs, it could look like I'm farming when really I'm not trying to farm. π

"Farming" off the hook is different than going into a game to work with everyone to get points. Neither are inherently bannable as long as it's not griefing.

Thank you! π

The way I go about farming is at least one hook per survivor for points and/or BBQ stacks. After that, work on maxing out the other 3 categories. Once that's done, let survivors have the escape so that they can get their extra 5k survival points.
I try to indicate I'm farming on the second down, doing things like clearly not hooking anyone I down or spinning in place. They don't always work it out, and I've had DC's and people killing themselves on hook. I figure that's on them.
I'll harass and chase survivors so they can get their own points for boldness or what have you. If they catch on and try to indicate they want to do something I'm fine to play along.

As far as I'm concerned nobody's trapped in my game if I want to farm. I might think they're stupid or just don't care about the points if they just pass up a free chance to pallet stun the killer 10 times or something, but if they want to finish gens and then leave the game by themselves, nobody is stopping them.

as killer i only really farm if games gone too fast and i know i probably wont pip just killing everyone there. as survivor i only really do if if killer accepts my death point as im about to go down. like a recent game with myers that let me get some free pallet stuns before killing me and ending game.

I had a killer who would not hook me and I stopped wiggling because if I got free he only hit me down again. He then started dropping and picking me back up forcing me free only to get chase points. He had no real intentions of letting me go or anything but wanted points. Is that a version of griefing while farming?
I just am asking because I thought it was certainly toxic and he only seem to do it so he would get the points. I ended up D/C'ing because not only was it not fun but I refuse to be someones free points. I do not mind losing but play right and hook me.

If I run into killers or survivors that want to just farm or whatever.
I try to end or leave the match as quickly as possible.
Just play the game...

Usually if I see a party streamer I just give hints that I dont want to kill but farm so they can get blood points but if they dont get it....eh I'll just chase them and hit but not hook so they can get blood points
