How do maps work exactly?
I guess I have always assumed maps work differently then they do. For example if I use the Green map with the addon that lets it track Killer Belongings as well how do I get to see totems? Will I automatically see their aura if I\m close enough, or does my character have to go past it for the map to track it first?
And does the Red map work the same, other than starting with more things marked?

The function of both Maps is the same, the Rainbow Map (the pink one) can track way more things than the green one. To track something, you need to go past it. If you use the Map afterwards, you will see the respective Object.

Thank you, I somehow read that only 1 was tracked to start but somehow still confused myself when I didn't get all the totems shown to me.
I feel this makes Detective a better choice for me

You will see all totems on map only if you passed near all of them in your map range.
Even more, if someone cleanse one or more totems , they wont appear anymore in your map reading.
A map with killers belongings reading and a green stamp (wich makes your map tracks up to 20 meters away) is just amazing to cleanse totems over the map. But you have to move around so the map will track it. Its true in Rainbow Map 3 items come already tracked, but those can be anything, not just totems, so, may have or not one already readen by the beggining.

Okay so for pure ANTI-NOED the green map with the range addon and the killer belong addon is good... or the red map with double range addons I am assuming?

Rainbow map + green stamp + any other addon
or...
Green Map + killers belongings + green stamp
Are the best choise for a ANTI-NOED item build. :D

Idk if the stamps stack...

Thanks I could just use the time extension with the red map but this is exactly what I was trying to figure out I hate NOED

If you want to go full out whilst having fun, here is my AntiNoedBuild™ (also my normal build):
-Inner Strength (Nancy, level 40)
-Head On (Jane, level 40)
-Quick and Quiet (Meg, level 30)
-Detective's Hunch (Tapp, level 35)
Item (optional): Map able to track totems, increased range add-ons, if possible increased time to use map.
The plan? Do a gen, find totems with Detective's Hunch, cleanse and repeat. Inner Strength gives a really nice buff just by cleansing totems, and then capitalise on the full locker build with Q&Q and Head On. It's surprisingly effective and cancelling noed, whilst still making the game fun (thanks, head on).
Detective's Hunch being the main anti-noed perk here.

there are two types of maps:
Map (rare):
- you are able to track generators with it by running past them (scores 250 obective points).
- there is a range of 8m to the tracking (you gotta be within 8m to the object to add it to your map)
- for 20 seconds, you can press M2 to show the aura of all tracked objects.
- starts with 1 gen tracked
Rainbow Map (Ultra Rare):
- you are able to track generators, totems, exit gates, hooks, beartraps and hatch (scores 250 objective points)
- there is a range of 8m to the tracking
- for 20 seconds you can press M2 to show the aura of all tracked objects
- starts with 3 tracked objects
with Add Ons you can add things you want to track (e.g. Black Silk Cord to track hatch), increase the time you can use the map for, (e.g. Map Addendum), reveal the auras to every survivor (Crystal Bead), increase the 8m tracking range (e.g. Odd Stamp) or create a map marker visible to every survivor as a light column by pressing space (Glass Bead).
also, yes. totems count as "Killers Belongings". so do Hooks and Beartraps aswell.
Edit: Glass Bead does not create a cone, but a collumn.
