It only takes 1 red rank player to bring every other rank friend into the lobby, so believe or not since a few patches ago, this is how it’s supposed to work.
However, if you were a low rank killer, then it would be out of the norm.

That's not how it is meant to work with SWF now. It changed a while back. Whoever has the best rank, which in this case is the Rank 2 Survivor, the killer will be matched to them. Which is stupid really as a single rank 2 survivor is not going to be able to carry their friends against a red rank killer.

This happens on PC as well. I'll finish a game thinking the survivors seemed a little weak for red ranks (I play at Rank 1 as well) and I'll get to the scoreboard and it's two greens and two purples.
Meanwhile some poor green rank killers gets four red rank survivors who bully him unmercifully.

Rank 4 PS4 player here, just got out of a match where my teammates were rank 15, 16, and 17 while the Killer was rank 13. Funny

I'm a rank 2 on ps4 and my lobbies for survivor is me and rank 16-20 lately. Killer is normally purple rank
