Wraith: Viable or Underpowered? Rework may be needed...

First before i say anything at all, i want to make clear that this isn't just me complaining because i lost a match or something, and i understand that you the developers and especially your loyal hard working team are under a great amount of stress with deadlines to make (my stepdad is a developer so i've seen a small amount of the stress of it), and that this a small priority next to everything else, I am making this disscusion because this is an issue that you might want to consider going forward as you continue to fix and improve the game for everyone.

The Wraith is one the original default killers made for Dead By Daylight alongside the trapper & hillbilly likely being some players first killer, he is classified as a stealth killer being able to sneak up on players and catch them with their gaurd down, although his stealth capabilities are unmatched i have, however, noticed flaws, limits, and issues that may not have been a problem during the games original release, but lowers his viability in the current meta, keeping him from being a top tier killer and making "winning" matches and scoring kills difficult for skilled or unskilled players.

Lets go over his abilities, attributes, and perks.

Power: Wailing bell, this allows him to become invisible and undetectable after striking it, emitting noise, with increased movement speed.

(i kinda wish the bell had an alternate function like perhaps messing with survivors perception or generaters but otherwise i think it's perfect)

(i think it might be worth looking into giving him secondary ability like how pig can crouch or how demogorgan can shred possibly like applying curses or something of vauge supernatural origin)

Perks

Bloodhound: Blood is easier to see and stays for longer

(it does help but has a very situational use and additionally is not as easy to spot as default scratch marks, it be more helpful if the blood stayed longer the closer the survivor is to their own blood)

Predator: Any scratch marks created by survivors spawn closer together

(this is great as is but it wouldnt hurt to put something additional to help catch or further track survivors, like giving the scratch marks a (very) short range aura that can be seen through objects for a short time or an attribute bonus attached to the perk)

Shadowborn: Increases FOV

(this is fine, i wouldnt bother, but having better FOV helps with only a few things but still it's fine)

Attributes

Hieght: Tall

TR: 32 M

MS: 4.2 M/S

(nothing to say or suggest here)

Now i will say this is a good setup but if you look closely you'll notice that his skill set is heavily invested into two things, tracking and stealth, which is ok, but when that's all he has to work with by default, then there are problems. He severly lacks power, control, range, endurance, chase, and anything else other killers have mostly due to lacking a alternate or secondary ability as well as potent and/or useful perks with no additional effects leaving much to be desired when a player actually tries to chase and down survivors. But it doesn't have to be this way take a look at ghostface for example, he is also classified as a stealth killer but unlike wraith, ghostface isnt so heavily invested in tracking but has no problem finding other survivors because of "I'm all ears" and his stalking power which highlights survivors, plus his other perks allow him to slow gen progress and get in close with a smaller TR, and rework patches are not unheard of, if legion (of all killers) can get a rework patch and the docter can get a rework patch then i think it wouldnt be out of the question or unfair for wraith to get a touch up on his power and perks.

All i ask is that you hear (or read) my words and the words of anyone else on this thread and think about it.

I hope to hear from you in the foreseable future.

The only thing the wraith needs is to make the bone clapper addon baseline. The idea that his reappearance ding should be directional without addons is just moronic as it allows survivors to instantly run the other direction. Give him that and the ability to equip two addons without having to reserve a slot for bone clapper and he's easily A tier tomorrow.

As far as viability, I play plenty of wraith, he is quite viable even at Rank 1. His increased movement speeds while cloaked gives him better map pressure than many killers and also allow him to use pop goes the weasel more optimally than most killers. His stealth allows him sneak up on survivors for easy first hits and he punishes healing with nurse's calling better than anyone due to being able to get right on top of someone healing and then uncloak.

The wraith also sports one of the best kits for many perk combinations. He can run anti-healing with sloppy butcher and nurse's calling and play hit and run wraith. He can go full machine gun chaser with STBFL and PWYF by using his cloak to keep ending chases on the obsessions to build up speed tickets and then chase down other survivors insanely quickly with faster recovery from STBFL.

I don't understand how perks justify a rework, considering it's not like you're forced to use them. Wraith's perks suck but that's not why anyone is playing him anyway. Leatherface has one of the best perks in the game and is still a terrible killer.

In his current state Wraith is middle of the pack, he's not in the core four "meta" killers category of Nurse, Billy, Freddy, and Spirit, and he's probably not in the group with Oni, Ghostface, and Huntress, but he's right behind that group.

I personally don’t think Wraith needs a rework, just some improvements to his base kit. Increase his default cloaked movement speed slightly to give him better map pressure, and remove or reduce the stupid lightburn stun. Those two things would help him out a lot.

Predator could probably do with a change or a buff as well.

Completely viable as is. Underrated if anything.

He's ok. I think we should wait to see how the map reworks and then re-evaluate the M1 killers. Wraith suffers a lot from pallet count.

He was buffed already. He also has ridiculous wall hacks addon/addons.

Bone clapper and ghost base would be nice changes to Wraith. I always liked the idea that Wraith could walk through 'portals' in the spirit realm to get through long walls, but that's just me.

Really the major issue with Wraith are the damn bugs he has. There were so many times I've faced Wraiths who've lost chases/games because of cloaking/uncloaking bugs.

Overall, Mr. Ojimo is a cutie and really only needs QoL improvements. They're not atrocious but they're pretty much the epitome of an M1 killer.

Even so there's still much that he lacks both on his own (using the teachables) and in general such as chase, power, and range, what good is stealth if it's ruined a notification saying to the survivors "HEY! OVER HERE!" and having little to nothing to help chase them even with other perks. While it's not impossible to "win" (getting a 4K) a match with him it can still be difficult because of the skill curvethat comes with trying main him. Besides it doesn't HAVE to be a complete rework, it can be something as simple as bug fixes or modification to his teachables. My only wish is that the devs at think about it and/or take a look at wraith's design for what can be improved but ultimately the decision up to them.

If he had bone clapper base he'd be viable right now you need certain add-ons to make him viable
