Devs, any nerfs for survivors coming?

Hi,

I love the change to the one infinite in one map, hopefully it will be applied to all other infinite windows in the game but are we expecting any similar changes to other mechanics?

I'm mainly focusing on the sheer fact that survivor queues are getting longer and longer each passing day while killer queues stay instant. I sure as hell want to play some survivor but wait times are just unbearable. Very rarely I get to the match that is actually fairly balanced with some back and forth going on and not just one side stomping the other.

So... anything coming?

EDIT: Map changes are lookin good. We will see.

As far as I know, low rank killer queues are even worse. Would be good if affected players would say so, as I cannot confirm that (I'm between red/prurple ranks).

Btw why you ask for survivor nerfs when talking about queue times? You want survivors to quit so you have less competitors in the queue?

Balance changes should never be made on the basis of queue times. Remember that balance changes affect all players globally, and queues in your region, on your platform, at the time of day you play is just one of many, many possibilities and doesn't necessarily align with everyone else's experience. For example, I personally find that killer queues are instant in the early evenings, and get longer and longer the later it gets.

If survivors get another nerf before anything of theirs gets buffed.. be prepared to see a lot more people quitting DBD. Every update for the last 6+ months has been a survivor nerf in some way shape or form.

Well, queue times are terrible for one side and instant for the other without any new content in close proximity. So way more people is willing to play survivor then killer and that is why queues are getting longer and longer.

Ask and ye shall receive, apparently.

Yes, this mid chapter patch is pretty much a slew of survivor nerfs (not that I'm complaining, those windows were BS). As a survivor main I'm really excited for the new loops, more mind games. I'm happy with these changes. Also repair speed with other people has been nerfed which was needed a long, long time ago.

Every streamer I've seen plays killer or waits 15 minutes for survivor game if they play alone. That seems to be the trend and they aren't close to my zone.

I know that people from regions far from servers have terrible time anyway.

I love seeing these kinds of comments every time any balance changes get introduced to this game.

Read "Boy that cried wolf" and take it to your heart. I really can't fanthom why any survivor player would struggle in this game enough so that he/she wants to quit after balance changes.

    Completely agreed.

I've had a game just yesterday where killer chased me around the game map(which needs some serious rework) for 4 minutes and then facecamped. I doubt any shape of fun was taken from that game(and I'm not blaming him either).

Some loops are just too strong and too easily connectable.

All MUCH needed changes to prevent SWF toxicity, among a dozen other issues (second chances, infinites, etc)

You're just setting yourself up for failure.

The debuff on survivors repair speed will mean nobody works together. Pointless doing so. That means multiple gens pop all at once. Then you'll be back on here saying gen times need changing because toolboxes and multiple survivors on one gen wasnt the issue after all. It also means discordance will be less likely to trigger.

Smaller maps won't change anything either. People will still just play high mobility killers because now it is even easier to get around. It is pointless changes pandering to people who play one side of the game and cry when they are too ######### to win.

Get ready for the 4 man stack SWF running DS, Unbreakable, OOO, BT, HeadOn, Bond, Empathy, Adrenaline, Dead Hard, and bringing flashlights.

Solo survivor queue is dead as hell and going in with only on other person is being phased out as well. People are either going to go in to troll and make killers depip (not kidding streamers are doing swf depip squads to make killers de pip hard asf for ending games too fast).

The game is TOO asymmetrical atm and it's catering to killers who can't do basic killer things like moonwalk in a chase.

You didn't read my post. Low rank killer queues seem to be worse. It is not one side and the other, it is depending on ranks and both sides are affected.

And pls don't generalise on who's complaining. Not every killer is complaining about everything and survivors can yell at the same volume. And just a total minority of potatos expects regular 4k, same as a total minority of potatos expects to escape every game and every killer.

Within the 6 months there has also been the Ruin rework, Nurse rework and Spirit nerfs. The whole x-sided discussion should really end now, I think they have proven enough times that they change both sides. Let's not talk about the quality of the changes, but it is not "every update", by far not.

I didn't generalise or call out who's complaining about what.

Queue times at brown ranks always were terrible but that's simply because it's so easy to get out and thanks to new way of resetting rank you basically never going to fall back to it.

On the other hand survivor queues are terrible for pretty much everything green up. I won't say anything about yellow as I haven't falled that low in a while.

I'm ready for them every game I start. You say as if it hasn't been going on for years now.

As rank 1 killer I get squads with meta perks every other game but your list seems misguided.

DS, Unbreakable, BT, DH is meta with adrenaline mixed in.

Empathy is useless for swf, head on is a meme perk as it very rarely gives you an advantage,OOO is more of a nuisence for the killer then actual advantage and flashlights are great for the killer if survivor is running after him, trying to get flashlight saves as it means that one survivor isn't working on gens at all times.

    Exactly!! PREACH!!!!

Survivor's idea of balance: I want to be able to feel like I had a chance at escaping, but due to my own negligence or the killer's actual capability, I may not.

Killer balance: I need a 4k in every match.

Sorry, that was MPUK generalising and polarising. But as I read this, you are still just talking about survivor queue times. I'm not purely talking about brown rank in killer queues. The lower killers are ranked, the worse queue times get. But let's just leave it at that, I don't get the intention of this thread anyway

Lol did you not read the changes they will be making? The only thing good for survivors is that you get 300 points for great skill checks, which to me seems like dev trolling. Killers get their way more and more thanks to whiners, while survivors still have to deal with bad hitboxes and Ebony Mori. To those that think keys are unfair, well survivors need them more now, at least they'll have something in their favor when the hatch becomes an option.

That's weird about the queue times. At the time I am writing this, if I were to queue survivor it would be almost instant, and killer would be around a 10 minutes queue. Then later tonight around 8/9 PM EST for me, killer queues would be instant and survivors would take a while. I personally see that it flips depending on the time of day.

I did. Thread was created yesterday. Dev post came out today.
