One question - Shelter Woods tho?
@Peanits @Almo I think we can all agree the changes announced in this Dev update are great. The nerf to survivors stacking on gens and the super safe God windows were needed. I agree with some maps having their size reduced, and their tiles spaced apart more. But where's uhhh shelter woods? That map is just trees with some stuff out in the outskirts. I was expecting it to be also addressed? Like there's no building, only shack, trees and trees and it's not that big. Do you guys think it's fine as it is just being a deadzone?

They were quite obviously only interested in addressing killer map complaints. We get to keep "enjoying" Shelter Woods, Hawkins, and the like.

This map will always be boring but they could have fixed the deadzone issues by just adjusting the RNG.

They are always interested in killer main complaints and killer main cryings :D What about shelter woods? hawkins? Nothing.

I'm going to be honest, I think most things they did this chapter was for the better, although I do hope they get to this and Hawkins soon.

They can only "fit" so many map changes into a single update. As stated in the Developer Update, "Likewise, if you don't see a map in the list below, that does not mean that we don't intend to change it later on." I wouldn't expect a Hawkins Laboratory update too soon as it is one of the more recently released maps.

Oh you mean the problems with multiple unsafe pallets existing while Bloodlust is still a thing in this game?
We have more unsafe pallets in this game than strong pallets.

Yeah its obviously just killer sided changes so far.

I definitely understand that, but like Shelter Woods doesn't need that significant of a change? And it's part of the realms they're addressing. Hawkins is a completely different realm of its own, whereas Shelter Woods is one of the Macmillan Maps, and it was also severely in need of a change so it's just strange that they've left it as it is.

To be fair, Shelter Woods might need more time or thought put into it. And additional issue on this map is that it doesn't have a good BL spot and is considered visual boring in general compared to other maps.

I mean, Rotten Fields has a similar amount of dead zones to Shelter Woods. I wouldn't go so far as to say "Killer-sided map changes." Remember to test the changes out on the PTB before coming to a final conclusion.

so you have 2 bad map layouts compared to almost 20 for killers
but woe is me

I understand where you're coming from. It's most likely on the Dev's "radar" for map changes as it does need more spots for BL. A change to Shelter Woods will most likely come in a future update. There also could be more maps being changed that aren't listed rather than just the 18 shown above.

This isn't a contest. People kinda want maps to be fun and balanced for both sides. It's understandable that they will ask for changes for other maps as well, when Devs start to adress them.

Guess we'll have to wait and see after this PTB.

I guessed you missed the part where maps not listed may be revised later?

Guess you missed the part where they addressed all mac maps except Shelter Woods.

Oh yes. But disturbed ward staying one big loop is killer site map? They just did some maps, just wait another 3 years for your map to be reworked

That’s a point. Hawkins is dire as survivor and many survivors tend to suicide on 1st hook on that map. Its especially bad if the killer has Ruin or Devour Hope.
The game is apparantly all about survivor fun though 🙄

ah yes the most boring map in the game I personally wish it was just scrapped
